Young Brother-in-law Is Now My Husband-Chapter 1396: One More Surprise
"Let's go. We are getting late," Lu Lijun said.
"Where are we going?" Lu Lian asked as she was sure after making her dress like a bride, they won't just take her home.
"We are going home," Lu Lijun answered.
"What? Then, why did you make me prepare like a bride?"
"We just wanted to see how our sister will look as a bride. We got to see you even before Rusheng," Lu Feng answered.
She frowned, "You three are so mean to Rusheng."
The three sat in the car and left to return home. It was late at night and the roads were almost empty. When they reached home and stepped out of the car, Martha came to them.
"Young miss, you are looking so beautiful," Martha said, sounding happy.
"Thank you, Martha," Lu Lian replied.
"Young Miss, please come with me," Martha instructed politely.
"What happened?" Lu Lian asked.
"Just go with her, Lian," Lu Feng said while Lu Lijun pulled out a beautiful and delicate flower bouquet and handed it to her, "Carry this."
It surprised Lu Lian. "What for?"
"It's looking good in your hand," he replied.
"Young Miss," Martha called her before she would ask anything more.
Lu Lian followed Martha. Instead of going inside the home, she led her way towards the garden on the other side from where they stepped out of the car.
The three brothers looked at their sister who was walking away from them and only smiled.
Martha accompanied Lu Lian only towards the garden where the pathway inside that huge garden was decorated with beautiful lightning, flowers, balloons and ribbons.
"What is this?" Lu Lian asked.
Martha did not answer but simply smiled and said, "Please follow this path," and stopped behind.
Not asking anything, Lu Lian walked on that decorated path where it was covered in flower petals as she walked slowly on it.
That path led her way towards the gazebo which was decorated in an incredibly beautiful way. Her eyes shone brightly and looked curious to know what was happening. There was no one present around. just as she reached in front of that beautiful gazebo, she mumbled, "So pretty."
"Not as pretty as you."
Lu Lian smiled as she heard this familiar voice coming from behind her. She turned to look at the man standing behind her, ready in a suit and looking handsome as always. She could not contain her smile as she looked at him.
"Rusheng!"
He walked towards her. The entire day she didn't see him or even talked to him as that time was meant to be with her brothers. But now she saw him, she could not help but feel like now she was home.
This man in front of her was her home. Her eyes turned moist as she saw him reaching closer to her. It was as if everything was so dreamy and she wished to pinch herself to check if it was real.
He stood facing her while looking at her with eyes filled with nothing but love for her. "For me, you are prettier than anything in this world."
She smiled but her eyes were moist to see how genuinely he loved her. It was her birthday but for the entire day, he sent her with her brothers. Now she understood why he left the hotel and brought her to stay here with her brothers. He didn't call her even once to ask where she was as it was her time solely meant with her brothers.
She said nothing and only hugged him. "Thank you."
He hugged her back and said nothing because sometimes not saying anything was enough to convey what they felt.
Once she let go of him, he held her hand and signalled towards that well-decorated gazebo, "Let's go."
They climbed that few stairs and walked inside the gazebo. On the well decorated circular wooden table, there was a cake that was placed with a wine bottle and glasses and two chairs were arranged around it.
"Are we cutting the cake again?" she asked.
"Hmm," he nodded. "But before that, I have something to tell you."
She looked at him to know what it was.
He held her other hand as well as they stood facing each other looking into each other's eyes.
"You already know you are the only one I have in my heart and I wish to spend the rest of my life with you only."
She nodded and waited for him to say further.
"I know we will be married sooner or later and I thought I can patiently wait till that day, but it seems like I am not that patient. I can't wait to have you by my side all the time. I can't wait for the day when you will be the first person I will see when I open my eyes every morning and the last person I see before I sleep every night."
She knew where the things were going and smiled lightly with her eyes turning moist.
"I can't seem to be that patient, Lian," he got onto his knees and looked at her, "Will you marry this impatient man who can't stop dreaming about seeing you as my bride?" He pulled out the tiny box from his pocket and opened it in front of her, "Will you marry me, Lian?"
Not having any words to say with her heart filled with so many emotions, she held back her tears and nodded, "I..Will.."
Smiling happily, he pulled the ring out of the box and put it on her fingers.
Just then there was a loud sound of clapping and the two looked at the group that was secretly sneaking at the important moments of this couple. Lu Lain smiled and Ming Rusheng didn't mind it. He simply stood up and hugged her who hugged him back.
"Only my sister can manage to get you on your knees," Lu Feng commented as everyone walked towards the gazebo.
"Just like how you kneel in front of your woman," Jiang Yang countered.
