Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife!-Chapter 377: You Might Die
Vincent Vance looked thoughtfully at Victor Grant, then at the silent May Morgan. Instead of nodding, he asked May, "May, go ahead, tell me what you want to do. I’ll follow your lead."
May’s decision could reveal where her loyalties lie. Vincent simply wanted to test whether May had completely given up on him.
May glanced at Vincent, sighed suddenly, and said, "The person’s dead. What use is it to send them to the police station?"
"Exactly, with no witness to verify, what would sending them to the police prove? To show your clear conscience? Vincent, the person died by your hand, so don’t say it has nothing to do with you."
Vincent took a deep breath, trying to patiently explain to May: "May, you must believe me, I have no intention of deceiving you."
May looked at him briefly, then turned to Monica Lambert, asking her, "Monica, tell me one last time, did you really not show me that video last night?"
Monica looked at May, glanced around, then nodded confidently and said to May, "May, I’m certain you’ve got it wrong, I never showed you any video."
May quietly looked at Monica for a few moments, then stopped questioning her, instead pulling her along and saying, "We’ve clarified everything, Victor, shall we head back?"
Victor Grant saw May leaving and threw a triumphant glance at Vincent, giving him a provocative look, then followed May out together.
After May and the others left, Mr. Landry watched their backs thoughtfully for a moment before saying to Vincent, "Young Master Vance, there’s definitely something strange here, however, I believe Miss Morgan might not have missed it."
Vincent nodded, speaking to Mr. Landry, "She certainly couldn’t have missed it. It’s a basic logical issue. Since Monica showed May last night, her subsequent denial indeed raises suspicion. May should be aware."
Earlier, when the assassin died, Monica remained cold-faced throughout, not even shouting once. The assassin was struggling and screaming right by her feet, a normal person would definitely be startled.
Even Vincent noticed Monica’s complexity, surely May, who was beside Monica, couldn’t have missed it. But how May would deal with this matter next remains unknown to him.
Jacob Jennings had never wanted May to return to Vincent’s side, so he seized the opportunity, advising Vincent, "Eldest Master Vance, if May chooses Victor Grant this time, I hope you can start anew."
Vincent frowned slightly, about to speak, but Mr. Landry cheerfully signaled Jacob, saying, "I actually think that Mr. Vance needs Miss Morgan right now."
Vincent and Jacob looked at Mr. Landry in surprise, but he continued, saying, "Young Master Vance’s poison is the Spirit Insect. Excuse my limited abilities, I really can’t completely remove it. To restore your body to its original state, Miss Morgan’s blood is needed. Her blood contains the Dragon Insect, the king of the Spirit Insects, it’s even more effective than any elixir!"
Vincent heard for the first time about May’s blood having such capabilities, but why hadn’t he noticed it before?
"Old gentleman, you’re not lying to me, right? I’ve seen May bleed before, why haven’t I felt her blood having such miraculous effects?"
Mr. Landry stroked his graying mustache meaningfully, smiling as he explained to Vincent, "Because back then, you were an ordinary person, not affected by the Spirit Insect, naturally you felt nothing. But now you’re poisoned by that woman’s insect poison, Miss Morgan’s blood, for you, is literally the most miraculous medicine in this world."
Vincent furrowed his brow, giving Mr. Landry a glance, only to see an unfathomable light in his eyes.
Jacob Jennings was overjoyed upon hearing this, "Young Master Vance, in that case, I’ll go inform May about this right now. Once she knows, she’ll certainly find a way to help you."
Vincent turned to look at Jacob, then at Mr. Landry, before sighing, "Let’s discuss this issue a little later. I’m fatigued and need to rest. As for the corpse, you should find a way to handle it."
After Vincent finished speaking, he had a servant by his side push him out of the living room to his room to rest.
Once he left, Jacob immediately commanded the people around him to drag the dead body out and deal with it. Though a heinous assassin, it’s best if they aren’t exposed, and handling it promptly is ideal.
After everyone carried the body out, Jacob seized the opportunity with no one around, grabbed Mr. Landry’s arm, and asked him softly, "Old gentleman, are your words true just now?"
Mr. Landry looked at him, nodded seriously, and said truthfully, "I’m not one to speak falsehood, this Miss Morgan’s blood indeed can help Eldest Master Vance recover his body and eliminate the remaining toxins."
Upon hearing this, a glint of craftiness flashed in Jacob’s eyes, and Mr. Landry, seeing his calculating expression, couldn’t help but ask, "You wouldn’t be thinking of persuading Miss Morgan to help Young Master Vance heal, would you?"
"Why not? The situation with the Vance Clan is already settled, Eldest Master Vance’s only regret is this body hasn’t fully recovered. I’ll ask May to come help Eldest Master Vance, she shouldn’t refuse."
Upon hearing this, Mr. Landry looked deeply at Jacob and said, "Actually, I only told half of my message earlier."
Jacob looked at him confusedly, sensing hidden meaning in his words, and asked, "Old gentleman, what do you mean by this?"
Mr. Landry looked meaningfully at Vincent’s bedroom before speaking deeply, "Miss Morgan’s blood can indeed help Young Master Vance remove the poison, but there are consequences."
Jacob looked at him seriously and asked again, "What consequences?"
"You know, Miss Morgan has the Dragon Insect in her body, which is why her blood has such magical effects. But her blood currently doesn’t possess the said capabilities because the Dragon Insect in her body is sealed, unable to exert its power. To use her blood to save Eldest Master Vance, you must find a way to unseal the Dragon Insect, but the price..."
Mr. Landry looked at Jacob with a complex gaze, suddenly sighed with some helplessness, "The unsealing price might cost Miss Morgan her life, or should she survive, those around her will be implicated. In short, the outcome is both terrifying and unknown."
Jacob paused, suddenly clenching his fist, and said softly, "Even so, we can’t continue like this. Seeing Eldest Master Vance in a wheelchair truly pains me."
"I’ve explained the consequences to you, carefully consider them. If you think you can bear the cost of releasing the Dragon Insect, then I can tell you the method." Mr. Landry looked at Jacob’s tangled expression and sighed, "If May dies because of this, will Vincent resent you for a lifetime? You need to figure that out."
