Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife!-Chapter 421: Finding a Way to Escape
"Sending a message to Vincent won’t help, this is my turf, if he comes, it’s a death wish!"
After throwing out these harsh words, Victor Grant turned and exited the basement, leaving two subordinates to watch over them.
Seeing Victor leave, May Morgan was extremely worried about Vincent’s safety. But with Adam Owens being tormented like this, she couldn’t ignore it either. With a sense of helplessness, she decided to stay and check Adam’s injuries first.
Victor’s actions were truly cruel, Adam was on the verge of having his skin peeled off, with injuries all over his face, legs, and chest. Even a previously healed wound was now torn open by Victor, continuously oozing blood, causing heartache for anyone watching.
"Adam, hang in there, I’ll figure out a way to get you out," May quickly tore a piece of her clothing to tightly cover Adam’s bleeding wounds, and then shouted to the two subordinates nearby, "What are you standing around for? Can’t you see someone is dying? Hurry and get some hemostatic medicine!"
Seeing Adam barely breathing, the two men, indeed frightened, didn’t dare to delay. They turned and went outside to fetch some medicine, helping May to stop Adam’s bleeding together, then used gauze to simply bandage him, preventing Adam from actually dying at their hands.
After everything was done, Adam’s energy was nearly exhausted. May took the opportunity to ask him before he fainted, "Adam, do you know who placed the hex?"
How could Adam know? He could only use his memory to analyze with May, "I don’t know. Last night, Maxwell came to take care of me, we had an argument, I went to bed early in a bad mood, and woke up here."
Maxwell? Her again?
Could it be she placed the hex on Adam? But, Maxwell likes Adam so much, why would she command him to kill? Has she gone mad?
May thought for a moment, then comforted Adam, "Don’t think too much for now, I’ll figure out a way to get you out. Victor’s father is still hospitalized, life and death unknown, he acts this way because he’s furious, don’t blame him."
Adam felt hurt hearing May supposedly exonerate Victor, looked at her compassionately, "Do you really plan to spend a lifetime with Victor? May, he’s so violent, you’re really not suitable for him."
May smiled helplessly, merely sighing blankly, "Many things can’t be explained,"
Adam saw her expression of helplessness, coupled with Victor’s brutal abuse earlier, instantly felt May must be especially miserable with Victor. He struggled to sit up from the ground.
"May, I know you don’t want to be with Victor, rest assured, I’ll save you from that bastard no matter what."
May never had faith in Adam, even Vincent couldn’t combat Victor now, so how could nearly powerless Adam be any match?
Speaking of Vincent, May suddenly remembered Victor’s near-savage gaze when leaving, shivering involuntarily.
Victor had long wanted to face Vincent, this time Vincent certainly came unguarded, but Victor...
"Adam, let me help you up first."
Saying so, May attempted to assist Adam from the ground, but just as she exerted some strength, she felt dizzy, swaying as if she might faint.
Seeing her like this, Adam quickly supported her, yet due to his lack of strength, they both fell to the ground together.
The guards nearby were terrified seeing May faint. They knew May wasn’t like others, she was the elder master’s treasure. If anything happened, they couldn’t bear the consequences.
"Lady Owens, are you alright?" The two rushed over, anxiously asked as they helped her up.
May had only felt dizzy earlier and hadn’t actually fainted, but seeing their anxious appearance, she thought of a way to escape.
She pretended to truly faint, tightly shut her eyes, ignoring their calls.
Sure enough, seeing May truly unconscious, they dared not delay, quickly pulled out a phone to call Victor.
Before long, Victor kicked open the basement door, swiftly ran to May’s side.
"May, are you okay?" He anxiously embraced her, asking worriedly seeing her unconscious on the floor.
He touched May’s forehead, not finding any signs of fever, slightly relieved, then turned to furiously shout at the two guys, "What are you good for? How could you let the lady faint?"
The two exchanged glances, explaining to Victor, "Elder master, it really wasn’t our fault, she was perfectly fine, only fainted when trying to support the guy."
The two were quick to find excuses, directly pushing the blame onto Adam.
Adam didn’t have time to defend before Victor kicked him to the ground, made him cough up blood, then fainted.
May was about to wake up and explain upon hearing Victor abuse Adam so brutally, but at this moment, she suddenly heard Vincent’s voice at the basement’s entrance.
"Victor Grant, how can you treat Adam this way?"
Vincent had followed Victor’s footsteps at that time. After hearing May fainted, Victor disregarded everything and ran towards the basement, Vincent sensed something was amiss, secretly followed to check.
Indeed, he saw May in the basement, as well as Adam whom he was desperately searching for.
Knowing Adam was the Owens family’s only heir, if anything happened, not only the aunt but Maxwell would also face punishment. Vincent had no choice but to save Adam.
He was just about to help the fainted Adam up when Victor’s men blocked him, "Young Master Vance, please leave."
Vincent frowned, glared at Victor and sternly said, "Victor Grant, you’ve already tortured Adam like this, I advise you to release him quickly, or you can’t bear the consequences."
"What a joke, what consequences can I not bear as Victor Grant? If you’ve got guts, let Oscar come demand him, that’s right, Adam is detained by me. If I don’t kill him today, I won’t live up to my father’s condition in the ICU."
Vincent knew this matter was troublesome, but having seen the video, he knew Adam’s assassination attempt on Justin Grant was drugged by Maxwell, not of his own intention.
But now Victor was convinced Adam intended to assassinate his parents, insisting on torturing him, which was truly headache-inducing.
"Victor Grant, if I told you Adam’s attack on your father wasn’t his own intent, that it was someone else’s order, would you believe it?"
Victor coldly glanced at Vincent, suddenly smirked sinisterly, "Believe, of course, I believe, with that bastard’s capability, I really don’t believe he’d dare hold a knife to kill."
