Zombie Bodyguard-Chapter 1675 - 1672: Martial Arts Competition
Actually, Lin Tian could defeat the entire Karate Club at once without much effort, but he doesn’t want to reveal such strong combat power, as it wouldn’t benefit him.
"Just a beginner trying to show off, and you think you can challenge the Karate Club every day? I suggest you go back and train for a few more years." Kunno Saburo sneered after hearing Lin Tian’s words.
In his view, Lin Tian’s victory earlier was unclear. Those clumsy fighting moves left him baffled as to why Jin Luxian lost; it was merely due to running. He believed that if he had been the one fighting, he would definitely defeat Lin Tian thoroughly.
"Hahaha..." The Karate Club members laughed again. Indeed, what they saw was Lin Tian needing to learn martial arts on the spot in order to compete.
Ju Yuuzen waved his hand to quiet the members. He no longer looked at Lin Tian but turned to Mu Binglan: "I know you’re the new coach of the Martial Arts Club. How about this: the two clubs set up a ring, compete in three matches, best two out of three wins. If the Martial Arts Club loses, they voluntarily join the Karate Club."
Though he wasn’t as disdainful of Lin Tian as the members, he also believed that Mu Binglan was the Martial Arts Club’s highest combat power. As for Lin Tian, his impression was merely that he could run.
"What if you guys lose?" Mu Binglan looked him in the eye, not backing down. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"What a joke, how could we possibly lose? Look at your combat power; not much stronger than a woman’s." Kunno Saburo scoffed. Although he lost to Mu Binglan, he still felt the Martial Arts Club was too weak, believing the Karate Club leader could challenge the entire Martial Arts Club alone.
"Bullshit, you got beaten to the ground by our Sister Lan just now!" Xiao Yu retorted, refusing to be outdone.
Kunno Saburo wanted to argue back, but Ju Yuuzen waved him to be quiet, then said to Mu Binglan: "If we lose, the Karate Club will sponsor the Martial Arts Club’s activities for a year."
"President..." Kunno Saburo was startled, trying to protest. A year’s activity fund was quite substantial; though the Karate Club’s sponsorship fund was more than the Martial Arts Club’s, giving them money for no reason was a significant loss for the Karate Club.
Other members also wanted to speak up, but Ju Yuuzen turned back and gave them a faint look. The dozen or so people fell silent, not saying a word. Ju Yuuzen calmly said, "If the Karate Club loses, I’ll raise the fund myself. You don’t need to worry."
Hearing that the fund would be raised by Ju Yuuzen himself, a group of people breathed a sigh of relief, but couldn’t show it too obviously, looking rather awkward.
"Sister Lan, we believe in you. Just compete with them. Even if we lose, we’ll quit the club altogether and start a new one. If they want the club, they can have it. We’ll lose with dignity!" The Martial Arts Club members collectively stepped forward to support Mu Binglan.
Knowing the challenges ahead and yet daring to face them is probably the spirit of a warrior. Although they only practiced martial arts routines, not true martial artists, they shared the warrior’s spirit.
"Alright, let’s have a match. Best two out of three. You set the time and place." Mu Binglan said spiritedly, full of an unyielding spirit.
Ju Yuuzen held up three fingers, saying seriously: "Three days later, at sunset, at the East Campus Martial Arts Hall."
With that, he left with his members. The audience didn’t stop him but made way for them, each rather excited because they were about to witness a martial competition.
"The Karate Club is too arrogant, they should be taught a harsh lesson!"
"It’s a bit iffy; whether the Martial Arts Club can beat the Karate Club is still a question, especially with the new president. He seems quite strong."
"It seems so. Even though it was a sneak attack earlier, that Air Tornado Kick was fantastic, even Mu Binglan couldn’t block it."
"Mu Binglan should be the highest combat power in the Martial Arts Club. If she’s not Ju Yuuzen’s match, this time the Martial Arts Club is truly in trouble, possibly even merged."
...
The Karate Club members left, but the crowd became even more lively in discussion. The news of the competition between the two major clubs spread quickly across the entire field.
Some students even posted it on the campus forum. Before the crowd dispersed, most of the campus knew about it. It was a major event since the start of the semester, causing the forum to buzz.
There were bets on the outcome, speculations on who would compete, but the hottest candidates were naturally Ju Yuuzen and Mu Binglan, one the Karate Club chief, the other the new martial arts coach, with comparisons even made between her and Lin Chong, the captain of the forbidden military.
Of course, Mu Binglan fell far short when compared to Lin Chong, but being a captain wasn’t a high rank back then, as the forbidden army had many captains, each responsible for a specific type of training.
As the students watching dispersed, the Martial Arts Club members sat down. In front of outsiders, they didn’t back down, but now sitting down, they faced the real issue: who would compete?
Mu Binglan was naturally the first choice, but for the remaining two candidates, there were no better options, leaving the members silent. Although they spoke bravely earlier, fearing no loss, if given the chance, no one wants to lose.
Watching these hesitant members, Lin Tian shook his head secretly. Xiao Manxuan winked at him, seemingly asking, "Don’t you want to step up and help?"
Little girl, still too kind, Lin Tian thought humorously, but he still spoke out: "Count me in."
He was volunteering himself, causing the members to collectively look at him. However, their gaze lacked trust, not in his character but in Lin Tian’s skill, given his unclear win earlier.
"But, Lin Tian, you’re not even our member..." Xiao Yu hesitated for a long time, awkwardly saying.
This still showed some mistrust. If they truly believed in Lin Tian’s abilities, becoming a member would be a matter of registration or even just a word.
Lin Tian naturally understood but didn’t get upset. From their perspective, the caution was justified, given the stakes for the Martial Arts Club’s future.
Still, Lin Tian didn’t want to prove anything by showing his strength. He was willing to help, but the choice was theirs.
"I trust Lin Tian." Mu Binglan suddenly said, not because Lin Tian was a friend, but because of Lin Tian’s surprising rescue earlier. That speed seemed beyond just fast running; it involved extraordinary reaction skills.
"Sister Lan..." The members wanted to say something more, but Mu Binglan interrupted them.
"If you have a better candidate, you can speak up now. If not, we’ll go with Lin Tian’s suggestion." Mu Binglan said decisively. She’s not a person to waver.
The members looked at each other, unable to voice objections. If many members possessed such fighting skills, would the Martial Arts Club still be bullied?
