Chapter 285: A Table of Killers
"You want to help me?" Graham questioned.
"Yeah, I’m not a fan of kidnapping innocent girls, but I can be onboard with taking down Hatoru," Yohan replied.
"You’re funny kid," the man brushed it off as a joke, "but I like you, how would you feel about joining my Monster squad?"
"Not many people would ever get such an offer," he added
"What exactly is your offer?" Yohan inquired
"You work for me and get paid handsomely, I’m talking about a hundred thousand every year with a generous bonus if you do really well,"
"Wow, sounds like a very tempting offer," Yohan replied flatly.
"But you don’t sound impressed, is 100k too small for someone of your level?"
Yohan smirked "you’re right, maybe if you offer me whatever you are earning I might consider,"
The man laughed loudly, the sound reverberating through his body. "Do you really think you’re worth that much?"
"I thought you already figured that out by now,"
The more Graham Grey spoke with him, the more he began to wonder just what gave Yohan so much confidence.
Even with guns present, he still joked and laughed without pressure. Unknown to him that was just a strategic bluff... Or maybe not.
They finally made their way to a private Warehouse, where a different set of men were already present, this one’s were more like gangsters but disguised as manual labor construction workers.
They wore the usual attire but their tattoos and scars gave it away.
’plus who does construction work in the night?’ he wondered as they finally came to a halt
’This is starting to get dangerous... I have to find Izumi and get out of here,’ he scanned the area as soon as he got down from the van.
"Don’t worry about the girl and come with me," Graham said casually as he walked forward, "I already told you she is in the safest hands in the entire city,"
Just then Yohan spotted them pull her out from a different van, she looked shaken up and scared, but she also wore a look of resilience, refusing to shed any more tears.
Her and Yohan locked eyes as they escorted her past him. Seeing that his hands and feet weren’t restricted like she was, she immediately suspected that Yohan had sold her out.
"I should have known just what kind of person you are," she spat before allowing them to take her away.
Yohan didn’t say a word, there was no need to say anything right now. He just watched as they took her away.
"Let’s go kid, I don’t have all day," Graham headed inside first. The two men with the guns still following closely behind him.
Yohan followed after them without any complaints, as he did he found more men, each of them scowling at him as he walked past.
He was confident in his skills but their numbers alone was starting to make him worried.
He was thinking that he just had to take care of Graham and his squad, but now the situation had changed drastically.
’They are like ants... all over the place...’
They looked strong and experienced. There was also an endless supply of objects to use as weapons all around.
Finding Izumi and escaping was starting to look a lot more difficult, but he tried to maintain his composure, carefully analyzing every corner of this place.
He was still pondering when they made their way to a room at the back.
"Graham, did you get her... huh?"
The voice sounded so familiar that he raised his head.
"Yohan?!" Gunjoo called out, unsure if he was seeing correctly.
"Mr. Loan Shark?" Yohan hadn’t expected to see him here either, but there he was, sitting at a long table with two other men.
"You know this kid?" Graham asked, glancing between the two.
"Yeah," Gunjoo sighed. "He’s the one who started this whole mess."
"Wait, this is the person you mentioned?" a guy sitting opposite Gunjoo cut in.
He leaned back lazily in his chair, one arm draped over the backrest like he owned not just the seat, but the entire room.
His clothes were sharp, with bright colorful hair. A fitted jacket, accessories that weren’t loud but definitely expensive, every detail curated. He looked more like a celebrity than someone who should be sitting in a room like this.
But his eyes didn’t match.
They were calm... amused, even—but there was something underneath. Something observant. Calculating. Like he was constantly measuring the worth of everything in front of him.
A faint smile tugged at his lips as he looked Yohan up and down, not with curiosity—but with quiet judgment.
"Doesn’t look like much," he added lightly, tilting his head.
"Stop acting all tough," the final guy seated beside him shot him a glare, his own aura was very different, more serious and stern.
There was no amusement on his face, only a sharp seriousness that matched his well-pressed suit, giving him the air of a corporate man. A very dangerous corporate man.
"But he’s right, Graham you can’t just bring anybody here when you know we are about to have a very important meeting," he adjusted his glasses, barely sparing Yohan a glance. "Your mission was the girl, not some baby,"
Yohan needed nobody to tell him, everyone in this room were killers.
But now that he had seen Gunjoo he wasn’t as troubled as before. In fact he felt a bit more relaxed, like he was right where he was meant to be.
"Do you think I would bring him all the way here if he was just some baby?" Graham asked, annoyance slipping into his voice,
"He managed to take down almost half of my men..."
"That’s because your men are weak, they make the name Monster squad sound like a joke," The man with a stern expression continued,
"Is that what you really think? Why don’t we test it out, no need for anyone else just us two," Graham was already standing by his side, ready to take of his coat.
"Do you actually think you can handle me without your guns?" The man got up from his chair, also ready to take off his suit jacket.
Gunjoo immediately rushed In between them,
"Come on guys, we shouldn’t be doing this. This boss would soon be here,"
"Somebody has to put this arrogant prick in his place," Graham wasn’t ready to listen.
"It’s unfortunate that you think you can be that person," the guy loosened his tie, "I’m going to—"
"That’s enough!" A thundering voice filled the room, and the place went silent.
