One-Eyed Monster
Chapter 848 - 846: Apothecarist
Even Hustace and Stan Sol are somewhat skeptical about his words right now.
Because the things he said were too exaggerated.
He has traveled to many places, places others haven't set foot in, but sometimes one shouldn't exaggerate things so much.
This is what Hustace thought in his heart, feeling that his brother was exaggerating his experiences too much, to the point that few people could believe it.
Stan Sol felt a bit disdainful, thinking many people flaunt their experiences, but those experiences aren't worth bragging about at all.
As for Nakasha, he was full of disgust, feeling that Perkins was using these stories to reflect on him, thinking about how to deal with him in the future.
In other words, in the whole carriage, only Igor truly believed Perkins' words.
Igor believed that Perkins had dined with Tree Spirits, traded with Dwarves, and even met Queen Wensi.
But others didn't believe these claims, thinking they were too exaggerated.
For one, Queen Wensi rarely shows her true face, and only cheap frauds describe her beauty with words.
Generations of Queen Wensi always wore masks, everyone knows this, but Perkins described Queen Wensi's beauty in grand terms, making others feel awkward.
Moreover, it's impossible for Dwarves to operate in Mantai's Main City; they trade underground and couldn't be casually drinking and chatting in a tavern.
As for Tree Spirits, they don't need to eat at all; they mostly surround trees, how could they possibly dine…
These stories, full of loopholes, are blatantly insulting others' intelligence.
But Hustace couldn't say anything; he couldn't tell Perkins, "Brother, stop bragging, these are all common mistakes."
He couldn't say that, because he felt he couldn't casually ruin someone's happiness, even if that someone was his brother, though not a biological one.
If bragging made his brother happy, then let him brag.
Back then, Hustace was young and didn't understand why Perkins had to leave. It was only after hearing his mother say that he learned that Perkins couldn't become an Adventurer with Class.
This pain was hard to bear, Hustace could feel it. It was something he desired, and being told he couldn't have it was quite a painful feeling. Hustace thought he needed to vent his anguish; his brother probably found a way to vent. That's why he brags, to vent his own emotions. Thankfully, it was just bragging, and he didn't go astray…
Hustace felt a little relief inside. Now that his brother is back, having acquired these peculiar skills from who-knows-where, even making the League Guards unable to move, at least he could find a sense of inner fulfillment.
Just as Perkins thought, he could make the whole world lie at his feet without regrets.
But, is that really the case? Hustace didn't think so; he felt everything was just in his brother's imagination.
Hence, Hustace was unwilling to hear any more from Perkins.
"It's all fake, what's there to listen to?" This was the monologue running through Hustace's mind, making him feel a bit uncomfortable inside.
After all, his brother Perkins was still quite independent in his eyes.
Back then, he left to pursue his ideals alone, an act of bravery Hustace admired for a long time. Reflecting on his recent journey to Guru Mountain, it took Hustace a lot of effort to persuade his father, yet he still couldn't inherit Perkins's bravery.
Hustace sighed, looking at Perkins, who was being extremely eloquent, and felt a mix of emotions inside.
"Let me tell you, once you truly see many things, you realize you were just a frog at the bottom of a well there is too much of our world to explore, but there are so few adventurers today, and that's the biggest problem!"
"That's right, you're absolutely right," Igor suddenly agreed with Perkins' words, fully supporting that there are too few adventurers.
Right now, however, they had no means to force anyone to become adventurers; what could adventurers achieve? They couldn't gain money or status, so it wasn't clear what being an adventurer would bring.
"Sadly, now everyone on this continent venerates power and strives for rivalry, leaving little desire to explore the unknown," Perkins sighed, as if this topic touched something deep within him.
"Senior, aren't you an adventurer?" Igor naively asked, unable to use his logic; why was he still thinking Perkins was an adventurer after he'd said he couldn't be an Adventurer with Class? Perhaps sometimes when people get excited, their brains short-circuit, as Igor's seemed to often did, leaving others puzzled at times.
"Um, well, I'm not an adventurer, although I've always wanted to be one," Perkins replied a bit bashfully.
"Then, Senior, how could you travel the world? It doesn't make sense!" Igor felt it was incredible. How could someone who isn't an adventurer make so many discoveries around the world?
"Well, it's not only adventurers who can travel the world, Hunters can too," Perkins said.
"So, are you perhaps a Hunter?" Igor asked yet another foolish question, so foolish that even Perkins felt embarrassed.
Even Hustace couldn't bear it anymore, afraid Igor's questions might stir up his brother…
However, despite appearing embarrassed, Perkins responded with a chuckle, "No, I'm not an Adventurer with Class, I'm an Apothecarist!"
"An Apothecarist?" Igor looked bewildered; what kind of profession was that, he'd never heard of it. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
Not just Igor, everyone else was also stunned, even the disdainful Stan Sol opened his eyes; to him, this was a bit unusual!
Apothecarist, it was the first time everyone in the carriage heard of this term.
Hustace even wondered if it was yet another term his brother invented.
