After coming back from the hospital just now, Alice Turner called Thomas Fisher several times, but nobody answered. She didn’t know what happened, and once thought he was mad at her for not answering the phone.

Misunderstanding the situation, she got angry and before she stepped inside, she set her phone to silent, deciding not to answer his calls out of spite.

What she couldn’t have expected was that, unable to find her, he would call her dad. It really opened her eyes today.

"I know."

Alice Turner responded as she sat up from the bed while Christopher Turner walked in. She said she understood, but she didn’t seem to be making any move to call back.

Seeing this, Christopher Turner couldn’t help but urge her again, "Hurry up and return Thomas’s call."

While he urged her, his hand gestured to her with his phone.

"With all of us here, how could she call Thomas? Let’s go downstairs first." Instead of Alice Turner’s response, Sophia Wood provided one.

Christopher Turner glanced at Alice Turner and left her room with Sophia Wood. Once outside, Sophia Wood thoughtfully closed the door for her.

After hearing their footsteps fade away, Lily Turner sat up on the bed, "Sis! What’s the situation? Why did Thomas Fisher call Dad?"

The situation seemed off; she sensed something was wrong the moment her dad pushed open the door.

"Who knows why he would call Dad? I think he might have a screw loose or something." As Alice Turner spoke to Lily, she suddenly noticed the indicator light on her phone flashing and instinctively reached for the phone beside her pillow.

As she had expected, Thomas Fisher was calling her. Worried he might call her dad again, she answered the call. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

"Thomas Fisher! You’re something else, bothering my dad late at night. What urgent matter do you have to tell me that needed such a fuss? If you can’t state anything important, we’re done. You better think it through before speaking." As soon as the call connected, Alice Turner started with a long rant. Once she finished, she let out a long breath to ease her mood.

Lily Turner propped a pillow behind her and leaned against the headboard, watching Alice Turner talk to Thomas Fisher on the phone. She had never seen her sister like this before, so she intended to enjoy it while also listening to figure out what was going on between them.

Thomas Fisher didn’t know what was happening on the other side. Hearing Alice Turner’s long rant, he found it amusing and couldn’t help but laugh, "Ha! Alice! You’re so eloquent, and you speak so impressively."

After his laughter, he complemented her.

"Stop with the nonsense, get to the point quickly, or I’ll hang up; I don’t have time to waste." Alice Turner didn’t buy into it at all, considered his flattery as nonsense, and rudely interrupted him.

Upon hearing Alice Turner say she would hang up, Thomas Fisher got anxious and quickly shouted, "Don’t hang up, I really have something to tell you, please don’t hang up."

After making so many calls and finally reaching her, he couldn’t let her hang up so easily, especially since he hadn’t even started to mention anything.

"Then hurry up and speak, don’t drag it on; Lily is waiting for me to sleep with her." Afraid that Thomas Fisher might start talking nonsense, Alice Turner deliberately reminded him over the phone.
