Hearing Autumn York’s words, Thomas Fisher lifted his foot to return and argue with her for a few sentences, but as he was about to walk over, he saw Cedric Fisher waving at him, signalling him not to go over and encouraging him to leave.

Thomas Fisher understood and glanced at both Cedric Fisher and Autumn York, then he turned and left the living room, heading upstairs.

Earlier, that girl abruptly ended his call without saying anything, and he needed to go up and find out what exactly was going on with her.

Upon returning to his room upstairs, the first thing Thomas Fisher did was to head straight to the phone he had left on the bed. Sitting beside the bed, he reached out and picked up his phone.

As soon as he turned on the phone, several missed calls immediately appeared before him.

He opened the missed calls and looked closely. His examination truly shocked him; all the missed calls were from Alice Turner.

Thomas Fisher didn’t dare to delay any longer and immediately called back Alice Turner. Holding the phone, he lay down on the bed, waiting for the person on the other end to answer.

He waited and waited, waited and waited...

But he waited for a long time, and the person on the other end didn’t answer his call.

Until the phone automatically hung up, Alice Turner still hadn’t answered. Thomas Fisher didn’t put down the phone and immediately redialed.

Dialing out, he immediately placed the phone to his ear, hoping to hear her voice this time, but again, just like the first time, the call automatically hung up without hearing her voice.

What could this girl be busy with late at night?

Before she hung up earlier, he thought he heard Uncle Shaw’s voice over the phone.

Suddenly Thomas Fisher sat up on the bed and once again dialed Alice Turner’s number. The result was the same as the previous two times; she still didn’t answer his call, which really made him uneasy.

Could she have gone to the Shaw family?

Thinking that Alice Turner might have gone to the Shaw family, Thomas Fisher suddenly became agitated. He looked at the time on the phone and hesitated for a moment, but finally dialed Christopher Turner’s number.

"Thomas! Is something the matter, calling so late?" The phone rang just twice before Christopher Turner answered. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

Thomas Fisher paused and said, "Earlier, I called Alice, but she didn’t answer. I’m worried she might be in trouble. Is she at home now?"

His lie came out easily, but it wasn’t really a lie; he was genuinely worried something might have happened to her.

"She’s at home, probably chatting with Lily and her mom and didn’t hear it. I’ll go upstairs and call her for you." Christopher Turner spoke while already sitting up in bed and simultaneously getting out of bed and walking toward the room door.

"Okay."

Thomas Fisher responded lightly, without stopping Christopher Turner from going upstairs to call Alice. If she were asleep, he wouldn’t disturb her, but since she was still chatting, it was okay to interrupt a little.

Christopher Turner didn’t hang up the phone, keeping the call on as he went upstairs and headed straight to Alice Turner’s room.

Bam bam bam!

The door was closed tight, and Christopher Turner raised his hand and knocked on the door loudly, not waiting for a response from inside before directly pushing the door open and going in.

"Christopher! Why did you come up? Is there something wrong?" Seeing Christopher Turner holding the phone and suddenly burst in, Sophia Wood immediately stood and walked toward him.

Christopher Turner bypassed Sophia Wood and looked at Alice Turner lying on the bed. "Alice! Thomas called looking for you about something. Hurry up and call him back."

After finishing speaking, he hung up his phone.
