Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap
Chapter 1130: Let Him Handle His Own Affairs
Isla Lane’s excited shout drew the attention of the nurses at the nurses’ station, and one of the nurses walked out of the station, heading towards her.
Seeing a nurse walking over, Charlotte Shaw immediately realized it was her mother’s shouting that had caused it. She quickly apologized silently to the approaching nurse.
Then, before the nurse reached them, she pulled her mother into the elevator. Her mother was already emotional, and the nurse coming over would only make her even more agitated.
"Mom! Don’t get so worked up. Benjamin is already a thirty-year-old adult. Let him handle his own affairs. You and dad should stop interfering. If you don’t, he might be able to treat Alice properly." As the elevator descended, Charlotte tried to persuade her mother not to get so emotional and not to rashly do something foolish.
Isla Lane was in a state of agitation and anger. Hearing Charlotte say this, she turned to look at her, angry-faced, "It’s one thing if you don’t want to help Benjamin, but you’re even making sarcastic remarks here. Are you saying that his not treating Alice well is all your father and my fault?"
Because of Benjamin Shaw’s divorce from Alice Turner and Benjamin’s injury, Isla Lane was already not in a good mood. Charlotte not only didn’t comply with her wishes but also contradicted her word for word, and even made a compelling argument.
She regretted coming to the hospital with her daughter today. If she hadn’t, she wouldn’t have had to listen to so many infuriating words from her daughter, and now she felt even worse.
"If you and dad keep pushing him, he will be very resentful. The past six months have proven just that. If the two of you still want Benjamin to be as happy as he was before, then you should stop interfering in his affairs." Charlotte could see that Isla was very angry and resentful towards her, but she still needed to explain things clearly so that her mother could fully understand.
Although Isla Lane was resentful towards Charlotte Shaw, after hearing what she said, she fell into silence. The events of the past six months flashed through her mind like movie scenes.
She had to admit that her son hadn’t followed her wishes for the past six months. She had thought that by forcing him to marry that girl, he would settle down. But it ended in divorce, and even led to this situation.
This situation was not what she wanted to see, and her son’s divorce from her daughter-in-law was not the result she desired.
"Mom! Let’s just let Benjamin handle his own business." Seeing Isla Lane silent and contemplative, Charlotte knew her mother had listened to what she just said. Whether she accepted it in her heart remained to be seen.
Whether her mother fully understood did not matter at the moment; Charlotte felt it was a good opportunity to persuade her mother.
Isla made no verbal response, simply glanced at Charlotte, then turned her gaze to the elevator doors, waiting for them to open.
Ding!
The elevator stopped on the first floor. As soon as the doors opened, Isla Lane was the first to step out. She strode towards the exit of the inpatient department, not caring whether Charlotte was following or not.
