"Why are you calling him so intimately?" Miss Lee asked irritably.

"Miss Lee, Kai is my boyfriend. It’s perfectly normal for me to call him that." Lucy Wells looked amused at the girl in front of her, who was meticulously dressed and covered in designer brands.

She was a few years younger, just over twenty, in the prime of youth.

"Lucy Wells, I know your type. Someone like you doesn’t deserve to be around Young Master Bright!" Miss Lee said domineeringly, "Leave Young Master Bright immediately, don’t hold him back!"

If it were the past, Lucy Wells would have definitely been intimidated.

But recently, the experiences at the company, her family’s support, and Kai Bright’s encouragement had transformed her. She had goals she fought for rather than ran from.

"Miss Lee, I believe this is a matter between me and my boyfriend." Lucy Wells smiled, speaking with dignity.

"You... you better watch yourself!" Miss Lee seemed to see something, threw down a harsh word, then ran away hurriedly.

Lucy Wells felt something, turned her head, and saw Kai Bright walking quickly towards her, unable to keep a smile off her face.

"What are you smiling about?" Kai Bright walked over to Lucy Wells, wrapping her protectively in his embrace, and glanced in the direction Miss Lee had left, asking, "What did Sophie Lee say to you?"

"You know her?" Lucy Wells asked in surprise.

"I met her at a party." Kai Bright said, "Didn’t leave much of an impression."

Lucy Wells puffed out one cheek, didn’t leave much of an impression yet could casually call out another woman’s name?

Kai Bright, having waited to hear an answer, looked down and couldn’t help but laugh, poking Lucy Wells’s puffed-up cheek, asking, "Jealous?"

"It’s a professional habit; people I’ve seen, I get to know them a little." Kai Bright explained.

Lucy Wells blinked awkwardly, bashfully burrowing her face in Kai Bright’s chest.

After spending so much time with him, she really didn’t have to hide her emotions, laugh when she wanted, and frown when she wasn’t happy, absolutely no need to suppress herself.

"Don’t mind her." Kai Bright gently stroked Lucy Wells’s long hair, laughing as he said, "Let’s go."

From spending time with Lucy, he gradually realized, she was a highly resilient and fast-growing person.

He was truly grateful for the small accident during the last mission, scored such a great girlfriend, jackpot!

After Kai Bright and Lucy Wells finished their meal and he sent her home, as soon as he got home, Sophie Wilson called: "Sis, if I didn’t know what kind of person you are, I would really think you bugged me or something. That’s some perfect timing."

"I calculated the time." Sophie Wilson said with a laugh, "I figured you wouldn’t send Lucy back too late."

Despite appearances, her brother seemed flippant, but he had principles he stuck to in many matters.

It just looked unserious on the surface.

"What’s up?" Kai Bright asked eagerly, "Did that bastard Charles Seymour upset you? Brother will help you beat him up!"

Kai Bright’s eager voice left Sophie Wilson exasperated: "Brother, I’m not saying anything else, just one question, can you beat him?"

"That’s different. I’m his brother-in-law, standing up for you. As your brother-in-law, he’d naturally have to take it without striking back." Kai Bright’s tone was so cheerful it seemed like he was going to fly.

Sophie Wilson took a deep breath, helplessly murmuring, "Brother, you really are something!"
