"A woman came to my company today, seems to be hostile towards Lucy." Sophie Wilson decided to get to the point, considering her brother’s personality, the topic might end up going in a completely different direction.

"Is her surname Li?" Kai Bright asked.

"You’ve met her?" Sophie Wilson queried. Given Lucy’s personality, she’s not the type to complain, which leaves only one possibility.

"Yeah, saw her downstairs at your company, she ran away when she saw me." Kai Bright said with a smile, "I’ll handle this, and I won’t let anyone bother Lucy anymore."

"Well, that’s good." Sophie Wilson felt relieved after hearing that, she didn’t want to see Lucy get hurt.

From an outsider’s view, Lucy’s status compared to her brother’s seems a bit unequal, so if any gossip were thrown in Lucy’s face, it would indeed be quite disgusting.

"Loser." The voice on the phone wasn’t loud, but Kai Bright heard it clearly, it was unmistakably Charles Seymour’s voice.

"Sophie, are you on speakerphone?" Kai Bright was shocked.

"No." Sophie Wilson replied. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

"If you’re not on speakerphone, why would he retaliate against me?" Kai Bright asked.

Given Charles Seymour’s personality, if it wasn’t for revenge, why would he waste extra effort calling him a loser?

"You’re overthinking it." This time Charles Seymour’s voice was clearer, sounding like the phone had changed hands.

"Since you’re a couple, take care of your woman, deal with all the messy stuff beforehand, don’t let it reach her." Charles Seymour finished talking, and silence fell on Kai Bright’s end of the phone.

"If you can’t give your woman happiness, don’t bother her." Charles Seymour’s words were merciless, stabbing Kai Bright like sharp knives.

"It’s not..." Kai Bright asked helplessly, "If you’re not retaliating against me, then why so harsh?"

Are these stabs a bit too fierce?

"When do you waste time on insignificant things? Are you a man or what? If you’re seeking revenge, just admit it, I won’t laugh at you!"

Kai Bright’s words only elicited Charles Seymour’s extremely "gentle" reply: "You’re definitely not insignificant, you’re my... brother-in-law."

Kai Bright: "..."

Isn’t this revenge?

"Never find a boyfriend so unreliable..." Kai Bright didn’t hear the rest because he hung up.

That last sentence wasn’t meant for him, but for Sophie.

So, was a final kick before hanging up necessary?

Kai Bright rubbed his forehead.

He couldn’t wrap his head around it.

Sophie Wilson didn’t even need to look to know what expression her brother had. When her Mr. Seymour bullied someone, nobody could top that.

"Emerie Wilson invited me out today." Sophie Wilson mentioned the day’s events to Charles Seymour, "I think she’s determined to have Benjamin Walton take over Wilson Corporation."

"Benjamin Walton’s ambition can’t be contained." Charles Seymour was not surprised at all, "Nothing will come of it."

"You know, Old Mrs. Wilson prioritizes interests, why would she hand Wilson Corporation to Benjamin Walton? That’s not like her." Sophie Wilson was a bit baffled, fearing Benjamin Walton’s plan might fail.
