"What do you mean by that, Lin Feng?" Jessica called out to him as he continued to leave the courtroom through a secured passage.

She was stunned briefly by his sudden mention of multiple cities falling.

While she was frozen, Xu Feng actually left her alone and began leaving, forcing her to run ahead to catch up to him.

"Wasn’t I clear enough though?" Despite having been caught up, Xu Feng held a leisurely attitude.

Alas, Jessica wasn’t buying it at all. She narrowed her eyes and nodded her head repeatedly when she heard no further explanation.

"I was going to give you some referrals at Bardmon City’s Adventure Guild to help you out. But I suppose you’re good enough to not need any assistance." She exhaled and said calmly.

Almost immediately, Xu Feng halted his movement and turned to Jessica.

He naturally wasn’t going to ghost Jessica. The only reason he behaved in such a manner was to get confirmation from Jessica to receive the Adventure Guild’s support.

After all, just him and his Army Camp alongside the Vanguard Guild wasn’t going to be enough to repel the Colossus’ army.

It wasn’t about the quality problem. Instead, it was about the quantity.

Even if his people could take on 10 at once, the Colossus’ army still had more monsters than one could count. Had it not been for their high number, they would have long been wiped out.

What was worse was that some of the monsters could disguise themselves as regular mobs.

So if a powerhouse on the Tier 4 and above were to enter the battlefield with not much vigilance, they could easily be ensnared and trapped without any escape path.

There had already been cases of Tier 4 powerhouses falling to the Colossuses’ trap, which was why they were ordered to stay at the stronghold base. That way, they could preserve their strength in the base that had the highest defense and avoid being encircled.

Xu Feng glanced around their surroundings.

Jessica seemed to understand his meaning and directly activated an item that prevented any leakage from their conversation. "You can speak freely."

"Alright, today’s court hearing. I can pretty much confirm a few of them are the ones in collusion with the Colossus."

Jessica’s body jolted slightly. Her pupils constricted as she lowered her voice.

"How certain are you?" She asked in a solemn tone. Had it not been for the fact that she knew his character, then she would have really thought it was retaliation.

"Let’s just say I’m more certain than their blatant slandering." Xu Feng kept it cryptic. Honestly, he had no evidence besides the knowledge from the past timeline.

But he didn’t care anyway. Whether they had colluded or not yet in this timeline, the fact remained that they wanted his life.

Since that was the case, he would be a fool to still smile silly with them and ask to be friends.

"Sigh, why did I even bother?" Jessica shook her head. As much as she could tell, it was partial retaliation; she highly doubted he was someone to retaliate just because of this incident.

And she would indeed be correct.

Xu Feng was not a hero, but he also wasn’t a fool to target his enemies simply because he didn’t like them.

If they didn’t do anything to assist the Colossuses and were siding with humanity, he would temporarily put aside all grievances.

"Rest assured, Jessica. The Colossuses won’t be arrogant for long." Xu Feng smiled lightly. If he recalled correctly, as long as they resisted and endured long enough, the real powerhouses would soon enter the field and destroy the source that enabled the Colossuses to stay in the Divine World.

After all, they couldn’t possibly maintain this kind of environment for the players.

How could they level up and grind if every environment were hostile and received Colossuses’ buffs?

The majority would be one-shot as soon as they set foot outside the map.

Even now, his Vanguard Guild members were suffering and required carrying from the Elite Teams to barely scrape by.

"Whatever, I doubt you would do anything to tarnish your reputation. Judge Olivia pardoned you with this chance, so please don’t mess it up." She waved her hand in a dismissive tone.

The courtroom scene was honestly such a disappointment to her. She had thought a fierce debate would take place. Yet in the end, Olivia simply used her power and had a private conversation with Xu Feng.

Not a single person was able to utter a single word besides Xu Feng when permitted, and there was an occasion of disruption from the crowd.

Xu Feng calmly watched Jessica walking back where she came from, most likely reporting his remarks to either Magnus or Howard.

’I was seriously ready to cause mayhem, but Olivia changed my plan abruptly.’ He smiled bitterly and continued to exit through the secured passage. His objective could be said to be half successful and half a failure.

He couldn’t have an opportunity to throw dirt and smear at Duke Marvin alongside his party.

What a pity that was!

While Xu Feng lamented his plight, elsewhere at Garrison City, Cindersong and Sweet Sky had successfully entered the city.

"Where do you think we should place the incense?" Sweet Sky asked softly.

"Best to place it in the center area." Cindersong pondered for a moment and responded. By placing them in the center area, they could ensure the incense spread to every nook and cranny.

"Good point." Sweet Sky nodded and opened her system map to locate an ideal spot.

"By the way, how do we get people to evacuate?" She then asked.

Although they were told to bring the city to ruin, the people residing in the city were innocent. They didn’t want to become a villain who gets the NPCs killed.

Toward this, Cindersong held the same mindset as Sweet Sky.

"I have a plan to get people to evacuate already." She calmly said and retrieved an item that was oozing out some ominous purplish color.
