Requiem Of A Failed Hero
Chapter 435: With This I Hope I Am Able To Convince And Not Confuse You That The Master Is In Love!
The lady raised her head, softly touching the rim of her hat as Raith landed in front of her.
"I can sense some really powerful people on their way. I guess as powerful as your comrade over there... whom I easily sucked his soul." He bragged, gesturing his head towards the direction of the corner where the guy laid dead.
A smirk parted his lips.
"You are a primordial, aren’t you?..." Raith inquired and paused for a couple of minutes, then he opened his mouth:
"The presence, the aura, even though that of the abyss was much more powerful and vivid, I can still feel very much the same from you... yet so different."
He looked at the lady’s face.
"How is a primordial in a human form? How is one in this world?"
His questions were met by a deafening silence. A few seconds later however, the voice of the lady was heard, cold and void it said:
"Human... just now..."
Raith raised a brow. She just spoke but his heart was beginning to thump so hard.
’What is this? What is she doing to me?’
There was something about the voice. It was hoarse and sounded with no vibe of life in it. But there was something about it that made his heart suddenly want to jump out of his heart.
’...what is wrong with me?’
Raith was horrified at what was inwardly happening to him, the lady continued, oblivious of his internal sufferings.
"...you said abyss didn’t you. It is faint but I can feel traces of the abyss on you. What are you...?"
Raith raised his head, gripping his chest with one hand, resting on a knee with the other. He almost let out a groan.
Something was fluttering inside his tummy. As he heard more of the voice, his heart kept going ba–dump ba–dump ba–dump.
’Something is wrong!’ Raith thought.
The lady’s words met an awful silence. Nothing more was said for the next few minutes.
Then Raith straightened his back and craned his neck, looking towards the side where he had felt something coming from kilometers away few minutes ago.
He returned his gaze to the lady and answered:
"Yes. I used to be host for the abyss."
As she heard an unbelieving groan escaped her lips.
"Ugh?"
Raith could tell she didn’t believe him. She being a primordial herself, it was possible that she was thinking it was near impossible.
Suddenly, he felt thr urge to explain... even when he owed her none... that can’t be good now, can it?
Before he opened his mouth, a few words escaped the lady’s lips.
"...so it’s you."
Those three words suddenly made Raith the most curious man in all dimensions.
He titled his head.
"Huh? What do you mean by that?" For a moment, his eyes shot furiously at the lady.
The next however, Raith frowned, he was finding it so hard to he angry with her.
Not when his heart was beating so fast.
Why was his heart beating so fast?
Things were rising in him which he couldn’t identify.
’Who am I?’
All these years he thought he knew himself so much. But the things that have happened in just a few hours of coming to Srular was making him rethink all his life so far.
Not being able to control his duck? Fainting before two beautiful women? And now this...?
’Seriously, I’m disgusted at myself’
He lowered his head, and steadied his breath then he raised his head back to the lady, thinking he had shoved all those anomalies under the carpet.
"So... what are you doing here... I thought primordials resided in a heaven of some sort" his voice rolled out stoicly but a sounding a little forced.
The lady did not say anything and just looked up. Seconds turned into minutes she was still looking up. Then she finally dropped her head and said to Raith:
"Listen human" softly, it came again...
...viciously gripping Raith’s heart!
"Urghh!!" He shouted, clutching his chest.
Theta and Nata watched from the sideline.
"Is master okay?"
"I can’t tell but he seems to be in pain anytime she speaks." Nata responded.
Theta lowered her brows, retorting:
"She does have a very nice and enchanting voice though." Her eyes squinted, "do you think she’s currently enchanting our master?"
A helpless sigh escaped Nata’s lips.
"Even if she is... what can we do... if I heard master right, she’s a primordial. We have to be very careful. For master’s sake and for ours"
Theta nodded and focused on the two before their eyes. At this point, they had worn their clothes already.
"...since you are quite precious to her memories, I will warn you. Leave here..."
Every word that came out of her mouth had tremendous impact on his heart.
And yet... yet...
’I can’t feel any power behind it, or any ambience of attack...’
It wasn’t an attack, at least not the ones he was used to. To be honest, he felt as if this was a ’him’ factor.
Something was very wrong with him. His emotions, his heart, he just couldn’t put his hands around them at all.
The lady after warning him gently walked past, as the sweet fragrance she exuded blew past Raith– He was delivered the final blow.
At this rate, his heart was beating so loud that he felt the lady would have heard.
His eyes widened as she passed and he got a glimpse of her pale skin, red emotionless eyes shifting towards him for a fraction of second.
Even though it was just a moment, Raith saw her eyes and only one word escaped his lips...albeit subconsciously.
"Beautiful"
The next moment, however, several men cladded in black dropped around the lady like rainfall.
She paused and stood motionless.
Tension weaved through the air as the men in black cautiously observed her.
Raith did not understand what was going on... who were these people and why are they surrounding a primordial?
’Are they crazy? It’s a primordial we are talking about!’
Even he did not know the lady was without her godly powers.
Right now, she was just simply...human.
Despite thinking she was a primordial powerful enough to fend for herself, Raith’s heart screamed only one thing as weapons flashed out, glinting beneath the bright moon.
"PROTECT HER"
Without a breathe to waste, Raith flashed across the distance, a crude sword of crimson and ebony blade materializing in his hands as he swirled across one, rendering his head into the air.
Raith stood in front of the lady, a deep frown etched on his handsome face. Then he coolly warned:
"Stay away from her."
’Oh shit! What am I even doing?!!’
"Uh? What’s master doing?" Theta tilted her head.
She was fuming with so much rage that it looked like she would burst any minute soon.
Nata shrugged, "protecting the primordial...I guess?"
"Why would he protect her?! Her person tried to kill us!"
"Well, technically Theta, that person is dead." Nata turned her head towards the opposite direction.
Over a hundred meters down the narrow street, in a corner was a body that had decayed to sand. As a soulless blessed with extraordinary eyes, she could see that much.
She seem to frown a little and relaxed a second later as she returned her gaze to where Raith stood.
’We were wrong about him...’
From her point of view, Raith had killed a man she couldn’t even stand against with just a touch, the way he swept her off her feet.
She didn’t even see it coming.
’...he’s strong!’ Her face flushed with redness.
"Huh?" Theta raised a brow, furrowing her eyes.
"You are a pervert, you are looking at Master Raith with such lustful eyes."
"Ahem" Nata cleared her throat. Smiling, she responded in pretense. "What do you mean? I was just looking at the Master"
Theta threw her head away, "Whatever, don’t think you can have him all to yourself."
"Of course, of course, Theta, we will share him with equally."
She wrapped her hands around herself, her brows creasing upward, eyes almost sinking into the upper part of her lids.
Letting out an erotic moan, she added:
"Aingh! Thinking about it as me so excited... I can’t wait for the day we will finally get to defile our Master"
Theta frowned, even she was frightened by the sudden shift in behavior.
’Twisted. This lady is twisted!!’
Meanwhile, Raith just stood, minutes after warning them starkly.
Seeing the way he slashed their heads, they also were being extra cautious.
He killed one of their one with no effort, meaning he was no person to be undermined.
But inwardly, Raith was just cursing himself.
’For fuck sake, Raven what are you even doing?!’
He sprawled into action without thinking... seriously why?
Raith’s eyes carefully glanced through all of them. Since he started using [force]—subtly though—he could tell that each and everyone was strong.
What had just happened before was a surprise attack.
The more he realized the more he questioned his mental stability.
’Ah...fuck, its just whatever’
