Requiem Of A Failed Hero
Chapter 436: Avarice (1)
Raith stood in front of the primordial---an entity he dreaded the most!
This was a very cunning game fate had played on him. How could he...who hated primordials so much, so much... how could he be defending one right now?!
And he couldn’t even justify his actions, at the very least tell himself why he was doing this.
A bitter taste crawled into his mouth as is eyes glided across the number of enemies that surrounded them.
Theta and Nata stood opposite them beside the building, unable to join the battle.
In fact, Raith would prefer them to stay put.
’I can finish this...but its going to be very disturbing...’
Since this town was filled with people who probably were sleeping in their respective homes.
And Raith had been in too many battles to be ignorant of the environmental damages that could be caused.
If he was fighting with mere humans, maybe he would have been able to do something to limit the damages but the situation at hand was very complicated.
On one hand, he had a primordial to protect, which was super irritating since he didn’t even know what the hell was wrong with him.
On the other hand, he had to look out for Theta and Nata and also prevent any of his people from joining this fight.
These strangers were so strong that they all made Raith very cautious. They made him feel like they could kill his comrades.
Even though he knew clearly well that the soulless were immortal bunch.
Thud!
Just as Raith was deliberating on what to do, three red robed men appeared out of thin air and landed behind the intruders.
Immediately Raith saw the opening created by the quick shock of their appearance, he grabbed the lady’s hand then shot away like an arrow let loose.
Before the men in black clothing could as much follow where he had gone to, Raith had completely disappeared out of their sight. Four of them however, managed to slip right through the red robed men, chasing after Raith’s footstep.
Nata and Theta darted after them instantly.
Only the four robed men that seemed to be escort of the primordial were left...with six enemies.
The soft glow of the moonlight bathed them in ethereal light has they began to clash.

Back to the present.
Othorman and Hans stood with their arms folded as the man narrated from his point of view. He was nearing the end of his explanation anyways.
"...when I joined the fight...the lady was gone. Along with everybody. We don’t know who could have taken her. But I need to find the person."
He clenched his fist tightly, hands trembling.
"When I catch the person that dares to jeopardize the life of the great Forsaken Star, I will spare no effort in rendering them to the best definition of despair. I will make sure they suffer every point of the way until they wish their dead."
Othor man sighed, interrupting the man.
"Be careful what you wish for...stranger"
He walked outside after saying to the man.
Hans spared the stranger a glance and followed Othorman.
"How can you be so sure?" He asked as they stepped out of the Inn. "How can you be so sure that Lord Raith is in love. That just sounds insanely absurd to me."
Othorman looked around as Hans continued to speak:
"I know it has only been a few weeks since I got to know Lord Raith and I shouldn’t be vouching for such a man so quickly. You warned me against trusting people too quickly. But I don’t know Lord Raith to me just seems like an open book. He seems like someone that can be trusted"
Othorman looked at Hans with a warm smile on his face. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Both of them were equally as tall and ripped but Hans looked older while Othorman looked younger...but their reality was the complete opposite.
And it could be seen in the way they spoke with each other.
Othorman placed his right hand on his dear brother’s shoulder, smiled and said:
"Don’t worry Hans, you are not wrong...what you see. We see it too." He looked into the dark sky. "That is why we too are willing to follow him."
He stopped and lingered before adding:
"There’s something about that man that excites me within. I have mever felt like this, not even when I was diligently following Divine Nightmare. He’s different, he’s special and I can feel it"
Hearing those words from Othorman, Hans eyes smiled. He had never felt better.
"I’m glad we finally agree on the same thing"
Growing up, even though they were the first two soulless to be created and were closer to each other than any other.
Hans and Othorman were vastly different.
They never loved or wanted the same thing and often got into so many fights before they met Divine Nightmare.
Even after meeting Divine Nightmare. Othorman was just like Reeves had been. Untrusting and prideful.
Perhaps that was why he turned a blind eye to the things that Reeves was doing. He had been there once after all.
To Hans, having Othorman believe in someone he believes in without any sort of questioning was the greatest thing that could have happened to him, to top it all, it was Raith.
’Maybe this is happening because of him’
Hans before he knew it was already delving deeper into his memories...and only got called back by the footstep of the robed man as he joined them outside.
Silence persisted between the three for a couple of seconds.
Then Othorman parted his lips, his words rolling out exuberantly:
"Something is wrong"
Hans looked at him with a raised brow.
Even though Othorman could not see, it was no surprise that he had a better sense of perception than all the soulless combined together.
And it has always remained a mystery how he was able to detect things so well...considering that he didn’t even have aura.
The robed man inquired, facing Othorman.
"What do you sense child?"
Othorman stayed silent for a couple of seconds before finally speaking, lines of scowl tensely forming on his blindfold.
"I smell a sin, it’s so strong..." He hesitated then added, "We are either in the domain of a ruler or one is very close to us"
