Chapter 437: Avarice (2)

Hans was first taken aback by Othorman’s claims. Not because he was shocked that Othorman picked on the presence of a ruler but because he just knew that a ruler was amongst them.

However, he was faced with a dilemma on how to divulge this information to him.

Since it was particularly about their master and there was this robed man with them. It was best he played along.

"If there’s a ruler, should that not be where the Master is? And the primordial you are looking for." He said, turning his head to the robed man.

"This man is right. Perhaps you could lead us to the source of this sinister presence."

"Will you continue calling me child?" Othorman’s face turned to the man, who knows what was behind the blindfold.

"Ah, it’s now an habit. I will try to stop"

His face stayed a few more seconds and turned to Hans.

"What?" The soulless grunted.

Othorman stated raising his chin.

"I’m amazed you can be so composed. You used to hate rulers because they gave the Divine Nightmare a hard time."

"That’s been over five hundred years now."

The robed man froze.

Hans had spoken before he realized that he shouldn’t have. The robed man did not seem to know of their existence and now still didn’t know of anything.

Which meant that even though they are a zealot group of people who worshiped a primordial, they had either stayed very private or they just came into existence.

"Five hundred years? Just how long have you two lived?"

"Eh? Five hundred years, I meant Five hundred days... yes days." Hans tried.

Correcting himself at this point was probably too late but at least it would keep the man from pestering them any further.

Othorman stepped forward, gesturing with his hand.

"I’m not sure of my senses. But I think I should be able to tell where he is... the earlier the better" he said and turned to look at the two.

Then turned back and dashed forward. Hans and the robed man followed suit immediately, flying across the distance like darts.

Across the expanse of a dry field, three parties stood opposite each other.

One party consisted of three men dressed in a pitch black robe, emitting a sinister aura that made even the wind retreat from them.

Sprawled over fifty meters away from party one was party two. Consisting of three individuals: two ladies and one white-haired man Theta, Nata and Raith.

The third party was a party of just one person and it was that of a lady, tall and slender, most of her visage was covered by the black bamboo hat and black veil that covered her face.

Her body was hidden in an eastern historical kind of robe with almost transparent linen.

But surrounding her was an air of mystery and darkness that constricted the air around the two parties.

Both stayed silent... their eyes carefully glued to the being between them.

Raith let out an exasperated sigh.

"Holy fuck... how did I even get to this point?" He muttered to himself.

The ladies in front of the white haired boy glanced and pouted. The blond lady had her rapier in her hand, standing in a stance that gave her the free will to cover the distance in mere seconds.

While the other was holding a large bow with intricate carvings, drawing the string taut with a sharp arrow waiting to fly out of her embrace.

"Master, I must say, I am quite shocked. I didn’t expect you to be a ruler"

Raith looked up.

’Damnit’

He had no other choice, this was his only go-to power if he wanted to reduce the impact done on the surrounding and also boast his own power.

Of course, not even he anticipated that his greed domain had grown so powerful.

’All those monster cores that Greed was consuming, so this is where it is being used?’ Raith wondered.

Of course, this was not just it.

Raith had unleashed his domain to encapsulate an area so that they’d be able to fight freely. However his domain ended up covering the entire kingdom.

The only thing was, he wasn’t sure if they had noticed yet. Hell, he didn’t even know the kind of mages and powerful entities that were in the Srular Kingdom—that was one.

Two was, his greed domain now had space manipulation functions. Before the Greed domain materialized in reality, now the greed domain warped reality.

It turned it into something like an illusion, except that this illusion is a reality of its own, at least until he says otherwise.

Because of that he could widen and reduce space however he wanted. The clear land they were currently standing on does not in fact exist.

It’s a result of space expansion that Raith had used to keep the men in black away from the lady... and the lady away from himself.

Because she started exuding a very disturbing aura the moment his domain was unleashed.

She had been silent for a couple of minutes but the tension was still quite evident.

She is a primordial for a reason.

’Although, I don’t know why. I can barely feel her powers’

After his days spent being the abyss, it was something that his body could tell. But compared to what the abyss carried, hers was way weaker.

In fact, he dared to think that if he challenged her, he’d win.

Slowly the lady turned, attracting the attention of both parties, she began to walk towards Raith.

Her stride was gentle and elegant, taking a couple of minutes however, no one dared to move. Not even the men in black.

She finally stopped in front of Raith and the strangest thing happened.

Her lips curled into a smile and with one of her long slender fingers she pushed her bamboo hat up a bit, revealing her pristine face.

The sclera of her left eyes turned black and her gray eyeballs became blood red.

Raith’s eyes widened but before he could speak, the scenery changed.

He looked around, the tranquil water, the darkness that lingered at every corner, the lone star that illuminated the entire expanse.

Undoubtedly, he was in his soul plane.

His face contorted with dread as that realization set in.

’What in the fucking hell is she doing here?!’
