Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure
Chapter 2283: Much larger than it seemed
Since the God of Creation’s inheritance was down there, I had no other choice but to go down as well.
Once I walked past the mist, the only thing that I found was more mist.
Whatever had been set up here to prevent people from seeing what was down there was set up on this entire set of stairs. So even while walking down, it was as if I was just walking through a sea of mist.
If it wasn’t for the fact that I could see just in front of me, it would have been very likely that I would have tripped while heading down.
Breaking my neck falling down these stairs certainly wasn’t something that I wanted to do.
As I made my way down, I couldn’t help wondering just how far down this would take me.
In the end, it took over fifteen minutes before I was able to reach the bottom.
Once I was at the bottom, it was as if the mist that was around me magically cleared out and I was able to see what was down here.
However, seeing what was here caught me off guard.
"This is definitely much larger than I expected..."
What was waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs was an entire city.
Just from what I could see, it was clear that the area of the city was far greater than the statue that was above it. In fact, from a rough estimate, it seemed like it covered the entire area that had barriers in it.
It was no wonder all of those barriers were there in the first place, it seemed like they had been put there to protect the city.
"But if there were barriers above ground, does that mean that there will be barriers under the ground?"
It wasn’t as if that was a problem since I was able to open the barriers to begin with. It was just that if there were barriers here as well, that should mean that there was something that was worth protecting.
For now, I tossed that thought out of my mind since it wasn’t as if this was something that had been confirmed yet. This was all nothing more than my guess, so it was better not to think too much about it.
Looking around, I didn’t recognize a single thing about this place.
Even looking up at the skyscrapers that towered above me didn’t give me a single clue.
The only thing that I could tell was that this was some kind of modern city.
"I don’t know anything about this place, so it isn’t as if it matters which direction I go in. I should just pick a direction and head forward to see if I can find anything."
With that decision made, I didn’t hesitate to move forward.
Though as I moved, I did make sure to leave behind some kind of trail so I would be able to make it back to this place.
This city was certainly much bigger than I had expected, so there was no telling if I would get lost while exploring it. It was best if I had some kind of trail that would lead me back to this entrance just in case.
As I was exploring this place, I could see that it really was filled with all kinds of modern shops.
In fact, I couldn’t help feeling that this place was very familiar...
If it wasn’t for the fact that all of the signs in the various shops had been eroded with time, then it really felt like I would have recognized this place.
As I continued walking, that familiar sensation became stronger and stronger.
It was as if there were some memories that were on my mind that I just couldn’t bring out.
In the end, it was actually a park that brought those memories to the surface for me.
"I know this place..." I froze and muttered this under my breath the moment that I saw this park.
After all, this was a park that I was very familiar with.
It was the park that had been by my house when I was growing up, a place that I had spent a lot of time in. It was impossible for me to mistake this place since it was a place that had been deeply imprinted in my memories.
"Why is this here?" I couldn’t help asking out loud when I came back to my senses.
Looking around, I found that there were more and more things that seemed familiar to me. All of these things were part of my childhood memories, they had been part of the neighbourhood that I had grown up in.
The more that I explored this area, the more that it made it clear.
This was the city that I had grown up in in my past life.
Only why would it be here in my second life?
All of a sudden, I came to a stop.
Looking around this place, I realized that there was something else that all of this was implying. If this was the same city that I had lived in my past life, then that meant that there should be one more similar thing that was here.
As this thought passed through my mind, I couldn’t help hesitating.
After all, that place was a place that I had left behind.
If I were to return to that place now...it just wouldn’t feel right.
In fact, it would feel like going to a place that would seem unfamiliar to me now since it had been a long time since I had been in that place.
But there was a part of me that still wanted to go there since it was a part of me.
At the same time, it felt like that was the right thing to do.
After all, there had to be a reason that this city was here in the first place.
If it wasn’t related to me, it was hard to imagine who this would be related to.
