Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure
Chapter 2284: The same room
As I walked through the familiar streets, I couldn’t help feeling nostalgic.
After all, this was the place that I had lived in my entire life.
But at the same time, there was a part of this that felt unfamiliar.
I had spent too long in this world that this past life of mine didn’t really feel like it was mine even though it was indeed the life that I once lived. It almost felt like I was watching some kind of story with how I walked through these streets.
Eventually, I reached the building that I once lived in.
Looking up, it certainly wasn’t anything special.
That was just how my life was in my past life.
I had been born into a normal family and had lived a very normal life.
In fact, it was surprising that I had been chosen to be reincarnated in the first place.
Standing there in front of the building, there was one thing that came to mind.
"Will I be able to find out what happened to her?"
Even though there weren’t many people that I was close with in my past life, there was still one person that I did care about.
It was my mother who had raised me.
My father had passed away when I was young, so it was my mother who raised me on her own. She was the one that worked hard to make sure that I didn’t lack anything that other children had and I knew how hard she worked, so it always made me feel bad for her.
The worst part would have been...
"How would she have felt knowing that I died before her?"
After all, the only way that I would have come to this life was if I died in my past life.
Not to mention that I had died while playing that h-game...
It must have been awkward for her to discover her son dying while playing that kind of game...
Taking a deep breath, I headed to the stairs.
Though there was an elevator to this building, I knew that this thing couldn’t be relied on. When I was still living here, this old thing would break down almost every other day.
Over time, I just got used to walking up the stairs instead of waiting and hoping that the elevator would work.
Walking up the stairs, I couldn’t help peeking at the various doors that were in those corridors. All of them represented a neighbour that I had once known and lived with.
While we weren’t that close, they were still close enough to greet me.
From time to time, we would meet up for celebrations because my mother was the one that made friends with all the neighbours. I would always be the one that she awkwardly dragged along because she didn’t want to leave me out of their celebrations.
"I can’t even remember their names now." A wry smile appeared on my face as I thought this.
There was a part of me that also wondered what happened to those neighbours, but there was a more pressing matter at hand.
Once I reached the fifth floor, I went to the third door in this corridor.
This was a door that I was very familiar with, a door that I had helped install when our old one started breaking down. As I stared at it, I couldn’t help reaching a hand out to touch that door.
When I did, it started moving.
It was a very small movement, but it was clear that this door wasn’t locked at all.
Then again, why would it be locked in an abandoned place like this?
It was already amazing enough that the door was still standing in the first place.
So with a sigh, I pushed it open completely and looked into the house that I once lived in.
It was the same house as before.
There was the same entrance, the same living room, the same kitchen, the same bedrooms.
Everything in this apartment was the same as when I lived here.
As this wave of nostalgia filled me, I couldn’t help running for a certain door.
It wasn’t the door to my bedroom, but rather the door to my mother’s bedroom.
Only when I opened it, there was nothing there.
I didn’t know what I had been expecting, but it was still disappointing nonetheless.
In the end, all I could do was shake my head and think to myself, "I was being silly."
That was the truth since I had allowed myself to be fooled by this place.
Even if it looked the same, it wasn’t as if I had gone back to my past life.
Whatever this place was, it was nothing more than a replica that had been set up for some unknown reason. This wasn’t the kind of place that I should let my guard down since there was no telling what would be in this place.
So I took a deep breath to calm myself before turning to the other door in this hallway.
This other door was another bedroom, but it was my bedroom from my past life.
After a moment of hesitation, I reached for the handle and opened up the door.
What awaited me was exactly what I had been expecting.
"This is my bedroom." I said to myself while staring into the room.
It wasn’t a big room, but it was the room that I had spent a lot of time in.
There were all the different things that I had collected in my past life, the things that I had worked hard to get.
Seeing them there made me feel nostalgic, but I didn’t let myself fall into that trap once more.
Instead, I couldn’t help turning to look at the computer that was there.
"Surely there wouldn’t be any electricity, right?" I muttered to myself as I stared at that computer.
I didn’t know what it was that drew me over, but I pressed the power button in the end.
