Sovereign of the Ashes
Chapter 1719: Crossfire
Both fleets passed by the wreckage of the Black Merlot Civilization’s overlord-class biological warship.
Rommel simply led his fleet straight past the site without sparing it even a glance.
Intense fighting was already raging around the remains of that overlord-class biological warship.
Two federal generals commanded their respective Rank Six fleets at this location, supported by the Ocean King of Planet Aquaria and detachments from the Grand Apocalypse World’s legions.
And yes—Bond, the Rank Five agent who had clashed with Sein multiple times and ultimately failed to stop his escape, was also here.
The Gallant Federation had deliberately dispatched Bond to this location because of his exceptional talent for deciphering the ancestral secrets of the Black Merlot Civilization.
Sein of the Magus Civilization had obtained vast amounts of information on the Eiyurant Papillon Civilization and its foundational technological laws within the towering structure known as the Grandlight Tech Center.
Meanwhile, after a failed mission, Bond of the Gallant Federation uncovered and deciphered one of the Black Merlot Civilization’s core secrets within their ruins: Genetic Cultivation.
Simply put, the Magus Civilization had acquired technological intelligence, while the Gallant Federation had obtained a cultivation civilization’s secret.
For the time being, however, neither discovery offered immediate practical value to either side.
Although the Gallant Federation possessed its own genetic engineering technology and had produced numerous super soldiers, the genetic sciences its researchers pursued were fundamentally different from the Black Merlot Civilization’s genetic cultivation technology.
The technology recovered from the wreckage of an overlord-class biological warship had been used specifically to cultivate war beasts—an area in which the Gallant Federation had no notable achievements.
On the Magus Civilization’s side, the high-level forces deployed near the overlord-class biological warship included a Rank Six knight and two Rank Six alliance deities.
White Stella, who had recently recovered from her injuries, was also present, leading her sea race legions.
Black Oblivion and his cousins were within this warzone too.
In addition to supporting Black Oblivion’s elder sister, the three also hoped to strike it rich in the ruins of the Black Merlot Civilization.
Inside the previous Black Merlot Civilization biological warship, Black Oblivion had discovered a world-class bone staff.
This time, they dreamed of uncovering even more treasures.
Although Marshal Rommel did not spare the wreckage a second glance, Moraia could not help but look it over several times.
She did more than just look—she acted.
A powerful overlord-level psychic force beam shot out, detonating an entire cluster of federal ships.
After visibly blunting the federal fleet’s momentum, Moraia turned to the commander of an Imperial Mobile Suit Legion behind her.
“Lead your legion to assist the Magus Civilization in this sector,” she ordered.
She then transmitted a message directly to the peak Rank Six mobile suit pilot via psychic force, adding, “Find a way into those ruins and loot as much as possible.”
“Aye!” the commander replied.
Times were hard. Developing a civilization demanded resources, and the Rosen Dynasty was now desperately short on funds. It was no longer a mighty world that had once commanded nearly three thousand complete planes.
Even an overlord-level psychic like Moraia now had to scheme for resources constantly.
No money? No magicoins?
Without them, one had no standing within the Magus Alliance!
The Magus Civilization could not continue subsidizing the Rosen Dynasty indefinitely.
In fact, the resource support it provided to the Rosen Dynasty remnants in recent years had already dwindled significantly compared to the generous aid offered millennia ago, when they had first fled into the Magus Civilization’s territory.
Moraia did not stop at issuing orders.
Before departing, she used her psychic force to breach the energy barrier the Gallant Federation had erected around the wreckage of the overlord-class biological warship and extracted a severed tentacle from the remains.
Her actions provided substantial assistance to the Magus Civilization legions operating in this sector.
The arrival of the Rosen Dynasty’s elite forces also sharply reduced the pressure on White Stella and the others, allowing them to lead their legions directly into the charge.
Even so, Moraia’s intervention ultimately came a little too late.
Just as she stowed the severed tentacle into her spatial storage device, a violent surge of law energy and the unmistakable sign of a Rank Six being’s death erupted from the nearby central battlefield.
Sensing the fall of a Rank Six existence, Moraia froze for a brief moment.
But once she identified who it was, she released a quiet sigh of relief. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Fortunately, the fallen creature was not a Magus Civilization powerhouse, but rather a Rank Six entity aligned with the Gallant Federation.
It was most likely a Rank Six creature from the Grand Apocalypse World. Moraia was quite familiar with the Gallant Federation’s followers.
The death of that Rank Six Apocalypse World creature clearly enraged the Gallant Federation legions, especially the overlord-class fleet commanded by Rommel.
Having arrived first at the central battlefield, the overlord-class fleet immediately launched a fierce assault on the surrounding Magus Civilization forces.
Seeing this, Moraia could not allow the federation’s overlord-class fleet to unleash its firepower without restraint.
As an overlord-class war fleet, the force commanded by Rommel the Desert Fox was known as the Desert Storm Fleet.
The apocalyptical weapons openly carried by this fleet alone numbered no fewer than twenty-three distinct types.
Needless to say, a fleet of this caliber also possessed hidden trump cards.
The moment it reached the central battlefield, the overlord-class fleet unleashed its apocalyptical weapons against Magus Civilization powerhouses who radiated Rank Six energy fluctuations.
Unlike the Wandering Reaper, which required lengthy preparation and firing intervals, the weapons deployed by Rommel’s fleet were activated almost instantaneously.
In a single moment, the entire central battlefield was flooded with terrifying, oppressive energy fluctuations.
So this is the might of an overlord...?
That was the horrified thought shared by many Rank Four and Rank Five beings experiencing overlord-level power up close for the first time.
Unfortunately for Sein, his position became a primary target of the apocalyptical barrage, due both to the presence of Fermera and the God of Decay and his participation in killing a Rank Six Apocalypse World creature.
Three different models of apocalyptical weapons locked onto Sein’s coordinates at the same time.
Gravitational Collapse Beam—fire!
Solid Particle Vibration Waves—release!
Bosonic Force Field—activate!
Each of these weapons surpassed the Wandering Reaper by a wide margin, both in sheer destructive power and in the scale of their effects!
As the suffocating sensation of being locked onto by the Gallant Federation’s apocalyptical weapons washed over him, the color drained from Sein’s face.
“Huh? Stop!”
Moraia’s commanding psychic voice echoed across the central battlefield.
