Governor Office

The old lady with healing abilities can’t wait for the Tier-9 Beast to show up. Since the beast is cunning, she decided to do something.

She then summoned both the Governors to the office. She knew they were working hard to get the supplies to the city.

In case an emergency situation arises, the supplies might play a huge role in safeguarding the people’s lives.

Not long after, the two governors got her permission before walking into the room. Both of them greeted her.

She told them to take a seat. Once they sat down,

She said, "The beast is cunning, like you guys were saying. We should do something to lure it out. We should at least know what type of beast we are dealing with."

"Then it would be helpful for us to strategize against the beast. Then we would be able to stop a surprise attack," she added.

Hearing that, both Martin and Orion relaxed. They were wondering earlier when the lords would take the next step.

They were happy to hear the news now.

Martin already had a few ideas.

He then said, "Lord, I have already thought of a plan. Why don’t we send expert Beast Tamers who specialize in tracking and other skills?"

"We don’t have to send higher-tier beast tamers. People with special skills are enough. All they have to do is find some traces," he added.

Hearing that, Orion supported the plan. He didn’t find any fault with it.

The old lady with healing abilities raised her eyebrows.

She thought the plan was not bad. She wanted the beast to expose itself. She doesn’t want another beast tide to occur.

If they send a team of higher-tier beast tamers, the plan could backfire. It could trigger the corrupted beasts to attack them.

She then gave it a thought before saying, "The idea is good. But they don’t have to fight against the corrupted beasts. Their job is investigation. If they find any danger, they can return to the city anytime."

"I will leave this matter to you entirely. I want the special team to leave by this evening," she added.

"Don’t worry, Lord. We will form the team quickly," Martin replied.

Shortly afterwards,

Both the Governors left office. They were going to screen the talented Beast Tamers. They had a short time on their hands.

The old lady was staying in the governor’s office, so both of them chose another government office for planning.

After going there, both Martin and Orion summoned their officials. They wanted the list of the talented Beast Tamers, irrespective of their tiers.

The officials who received the orders started working. They started by going through the list of Beast Taming Forces.

They requested help from the Beast Taming Forces to send the list of Beast Tamers who have special Beast Taming Talents.

Especially those who specialize in tracking and other beast-tracking abilities.

As time passed, the heads of the Beast Taming Forces acted. They didn’t expect the Governors to come up with the next action so soon.

They thought it might be related to the lord from the Human Alliance. They knew one of the lords stayed behind, while the others went back to the Human Alliance.

The Heads knew the Tier-9 Beast was not killed. Otherwise, the lord wouldn’t be staying back.

So they sent the list of Beast Tamers with special talents.

The Central University No. 5 and the Beast Taming Association were the first ones to send their name lists.

Because they already had such lists in their database, they didn’t have to work on it from scratch. But other forces had to work for it.

Since they had to give the names irrespective of the tiers, they started asking the elders to complete the task.

Governors Martin and Orion were receiving updates from time to time. Martin was writing down the names and special talents on a whiteboard.

He wanted to make a good combination for the team. Only then would the survivability increase for the team, allowing them to return safely later.

...

Red Moon Chamber

That evening Jeremy Night left his room. He went downstairs to the lobby. He wanted to know what was going on.

If there was a chance to enter the wilderness, it would be good. When he reached the lobby, he saw the members going about their business.

Everyone was discussing the wilderness situation. The longer they stayed out of the wilderness, the more it affected their livelihood.

People earned by hunting the corrupted beasts and selling their body parts. There were others who collected rare treasures from the wilderness.

Jeremy found a place to sit down. He listened to the conversation of others, feeling the plight of the people.

Buzz!

The next second, his device buzzed. He was surprised. He picked up the device and saw the contact name, which surprised him even more.

The person who was calling was none other than Head Harold. Jeremy Night knew Head Harold might have some instructions.

He then stood up and went toward the Head’s office.

A few minutes later,

He arrived in front of the Head’s office. He asked for permission.

Creak!

He then opened the door and walked inside. He saw Head Harold sitting behind the desk.

"Come inside," Head Harold said.

Hearing that, Jeremy Night walked up to the desk.

He sat on the chair opposite Head Harold.

"I know you must be surprised," Head Harold said.

Hearing that, Jeremy Night raised his eyebrows.

He asked, "Head, what happened?"

"I got an order from the Governors. They have requested a name list of talented Beast Tamers with special talents," Harold said.

"For what?" Jeremy asked.

"I don’t know their purpose. But I have included your name from the Red Moon Chamber’s side. You can fight across Tiers. You will be absolutely safe and sound," Head Harold said.

Jeremy thought there must be a reason behind it. He wondered whether the Governors had found a solution.

"I believe it’s related to the current situation. You don’t have to worry. The governor’s office assured us that there is no danger behind it," Harold said.

"Okay," Jeremy replied.

Harold appreciated Jeremy. This kid had courage. So, he officially sent the name of Jeremy Night, together with a few other names, to the Governor’s office.

Jeremy Night returned to his room after having a discussion with Head Harold. Since his name was included, he thought there was going to be some mission.

He needed to be ready for that, so he began to check his inventory. Apart from his blade, he had a knife as well. It was for emergency purposes.

Then he saw the healing resources and poisonous liquid. When he saw that everything was fine, he began to rest. If the call came, he was ready to leave.

That night, his device buzzed again. Jeremy picked up the device and answered the call.

"Jeremy, as we guessed, it’s a special mission. They have asked you to assemble at the city gate. Go there and take care of yourself during the mission."

"If you face any danger, you can return to the city anytime. The governor’s office made an exception," Harold said on the phone call.

Hearing that, Jeremy was surprised. He was just a Tier-3 Beast Tamer. Since he was asked to participate, then it was most likely an investigative type of mission.

"Okay. I will take care of myself," he replied.

Then he ended the call and began to get ready.

After getting ready, he left the room and came to the lobby. He saw that the place was as usual. The members were doing their work.

It appeared they were not aware of the special mission. He came outside. He found a cab driver and told him to drop him off at the city gate.

Ten minutes later,

The flying car reached the city gate. More than 100 Beast Tamers were gathered at the city gate. The car landed at the platform.

Jeremy then stepped outside. He then thanked the driver. He was an employee of the organisation, so he didn’t have to pay.

The driver nodded before leaving the place. Jeremy then turned towards the gate. He was surprised by the scene before him.

He counted the numbers. Exactly 65 people had gathered here, including him. He didn’t make any noise. He simply found a less crowded part and began to wait.

But others looked at him. They saw that a Tier-3 Beast Tamer was invited here again. Jeremy looked back at them. His gaze swept across them.

He saw he was not the only one. There were other Tier-3 Beast Tamers here as well. The group was mixed. He saw Tier-4 and Tier-5 Beast Tamers.

But there were no higher-tier beast tamers. He understood it was really a special mission.

Time passed.

It didn’t take long for more people to come. Soon, the number turned out to be a hundred. No more people came.

Swoosh!

Two figures appeared above the city gate. They were standing in mid-air. Their gaze fell on the hundred Beast Tamers on the ground.

They were none other than Governor Martin and Orion.

Martin said, "There are 100 Beast Tamers here. All of you have a special Beast Taming Talent. I want you guys to find clues about corrupted beasts crossing the border."

"If by chance any of you finds clues about the Tier-9 beast, it would be good," he added.

Gasp!

Hearing this, a loud exclamation occurred.
