Chapter 856: Recording Evidence

Wilderness

Jeremy Night has been looking for clues. But he only came across the gruesome sight of remains.

Thanks to his eye power, he avoided the corrupted beasts that were feasting on the remains. He wondered where these corrupted beasts came from.

Earlier, he had thought a few groups of corrupted beasts had survived the attack. But he was wrong. He was in the inner area of the wilderness.

If he went further, he would reach the core area, and then he would reach the border next. Yet, he had been seeing a greater number of beasts.

Jeremy felt something amiss. He had been to the border before. If his assumption was right, then the beasts were crossing the border again.

He thought the remains of the higher-tier corrupted beasts had attracted attention. If this went on, a greater number of beasts would appear.

But these were just his own assumptions. He had to get some evidence. If he went back and told the governors, they would ask for proof.

They were not Head Harold. Head Harold might believe him. But the same couldn’t be said for the others.

He decided to go to the border. He was trusting his eyes.

Swoosh!

The next second, he started rushing toward the core area. He wanted to reach the border before nighttime.

Time passed.

He came across more corrupted beasts. He took a detour before resuming on the straight path, his expression getting serious.

Because he started seeing more Tier-4 and Tier-5 beasts. It was a worrisome sign. There was no way they had hidden during the conflict. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

They must be coming from the border. Soon, he reached the core area. This time, he couldn’t avoid the Tier-5 beasts.

They were coming from all directions. He didn’t want to get surrounded by them. He decided to force a way forward.

Swoosh!

He charged at the group of four-legged beasts. This time, he unsheathed his blade. The blade’s edge glowed with light.

The four-legged Tier-5 beasts noticed him as well. They darted out toward him.

Slash!

The blade in his hand moved. He used his eye power to land a precise strike. The blade swung fast before striking the beast.

The blade went inside and severed the blood vessels. He didn’t stop moving. He withdrew the blade before making a reverse strike.

Slice!

The blade cut through the side of the body of the second beast. In a flash, he moved past them. The other beasts leaped at him.

Jeremy Night used his full focus. He was using his eye power. He predicted the direction of the claws. He shifted his body weight before stabbing the beast.

Puchak!

The blade penetrated the neck. The stab wound was deep. He then withdrew the blade in a lightning-fast motion before attacking the others.

In the blink of an eye, the four-legged beasts were injured and lying down on the ground. All of them had severe blade wounds.

Jeremy didn’t even look back. He continued on his way. Like he had suspected, there were more and more corrupted beasts on the path.

He used the shade of a giant tree to hide for a few minutes, then he left when the group was gone.

A hint of struggle flashed in his eyes. He doubted whether he could reach the border in this current situation.

The number of beasts was increasing. There were higher chances of him being surrounded by the beasts than him reaching the border.

But he didn’t want to give up. He knew the real reason behind the mission. The governors wanted to find the whereabouts of the Tier-9 Beast.

Yet the situation here was different. He collected his thoughts and continued on his way.

Time passed.

Nighttime came. He finally reached the border. He had taken a huge risk. He was standing on one of the tree branches.

He focused on reducing his presence as much as possible. He calmed his heart and mind.

The huge tree leaves were covering his view. No other corrupted beasts could see him unless they had an eye ability.

What he saw was terrifying. A large army of Tier-4 and Tier-5 beasts was coming from the unexplored region. They were crossing the border to enter the wilderness.

They had already faced beast attacks in a short period of time. Now, there was one more round going to occur.

Now he understood why the Governors and other higher-tier beast tamers had taken action to wipe out the corrupted beasts the second time.

If they had allowed the Beast Tamers of the city to participate, then casualties would have occurred. The numbers would have been high.

Seeing that one more tide was going to come, Jeremy thought this time they were going to have to participate.

But none of this would truly end if the governors were unable to find the Tier-9 Beast.

Jeremy collected his thoughts. He then took out his device and started recording the corrupted beasts crossing the border.

He knew this evidence was enough. He didn’t have to cross the border at all. He spent 20 minutes recording.

In this time, more than a hundred corrupted beasts crossed the border. Some of them looked toward the giant tree.

His presence was sensed by them. But they didn’t take it seriously. If they had seen his actual appearance, they would have charged at him.

Thanks to the huge leaves, he was safe right now. Jeremy then ended the recording and put away his device. He waited for a good opportunity.

When there was a time gap between the corrupted beasts coming from the unexplored region to reach the border, he used the opportunity to leave the place.

Jeremy started his return journey. He was not going to stop anywhere. He was going to use a detour instead of going to the battle site.

Time passed.

Jeremy avoided the beasts using his eye power. He didn’t come across the other beast tamers. He was worried about their safety.

They were not higher-tier beast tamers. If they came across a beast group this time, then the chances of casualties would be high.
