Chapter 857: Battle against the Brown Eagle Beast

Jeremy Night was going towards the inner area from the core area, just when he thought he had escaped from the Corrupted beast.

Screech!

The next second, he heard a beast’s sound. The hairs on his arms stood up. He quickly darted towards the nearest tree to stand under.

The huge shade tree provided good cover. Jeremy stood under it and started observing the surroundings.

Screech!

The next moment, a weird sound occurred. This time he immediately raised his head and looked at the sky above.

He saw a bird-type beast circling in the sky. Bird beasts were difficult to handle. He didn’t expect to encounter one here.

But he wanted to know whether the beast was actually targeting him. He used his eye power, zooming in to view the beast.

Then he saw that the massive brown eagle was actually looking back at him. His heart skipped a beat. Once targeted by an eagle beast, it was not easy to escape.

Moreover, he felt the strength of the brown eagle was slightly above Tier-5. It was alarming. He hadn’t seen a Tier-6 beast before.

He looked at the beast again. Maybe he was wrong. The beast could be at the limit of Tier-5. Still, the beast was dangerous.

Jeremy used his brain to come up with a fast solution. If he dared to take a step outside, he was sure that the brown eagle would catch him in a swift motion.

If he got caught by the brown eagle, he didn’t know what would happen. He had experienced similar situations in other zones.

If he got caught, either he would be dead or he would be taken to an unexplored region. He didn’t want such a situation to occur this time.

Jeremy collected his thoughts. He was going to wait for the beast to leave.

Screech!

The Giant Brown Eagle made a sound. It had its eyes on the target. It made a circle in the sky, waiting for the human target to leave.

But the human target was not leaving at all. The Brown Eagle’s eyes flickered. It had intellect like a human.

The beast then moved away from the place for the time being.

On the other hand, Jeremy Night noticed that the bird had gone away. He was taken aback, because he didn’t expect the beast to leave all of a sudden.

If bird-type beasts set their eyes on a target, they won’t leave that easily. He was no fool. He decided to wait there.

As time passed, he saw other corrupted beasts crossing the area and moving towards the inner area. His expression changed drastically.

"It’s bad. If this goes on, they might reach the city gate as well," Jeremy Night muttered to himself.

Jeremy made a decision.

Swoosh!

The next second, he bolted out from the place. He moved fast to reach the inner area.

Not long after, the massive brown eagle appeared in the sky. The eyesight of the brown eagle was sharper than other beasts.

It had temporarily left the place earlier, circling in the nearest area instead. But from there, it kept an eye on the target.

Seeing that the target had left the cover, it flew back swiftly. Now, the brown eagle dived down to catch its prey.

Boom!

The wind force generated from its wings sent a shock wave everywhere.

Jeremy Night felt a sense of crisis coming from behind. The sense of crisis was huge. If he didn’t do anything, he might face death.

Jeremy used his eye power again. He looked back at the beast and saw that it was getting closer. He stopped moving and turned around to face it.

Swoosh!

The Brown Eagle saw that the target had stopped moving. It increased its speed all of a sudden.

On the ground, Jeremy Night felt the wind force hitting him. But his gaze never left the beast’s claws. He had experienced this before.

He wouldn’t underestimate the sudden increase in speed at the last moment.

Swoosh!

The beast’s claws were huge. Just as they were about to touch him,

"Explosive Steps!"

He burst forth with great speed. The explosive force propelled his body. Using that momentum, he moved sideways, avoiding the deadly claws.

Boom!

The claws tore through the empty air. The brown eagle missed its target. Its eyes flickered. It had anticipated such a scheme.

Many beast tamers had tried it before, but they had all failed. Yet, the human target evaded the attack this time.

The brown eagle understood that this human beast tamer was difficult to deal with. Earlier, the target had hidden under a tree.

Swoosh!

The beast turned around and went for another attack. This time, it didn’t hold back. It rose into the sky at high speed before relocating the target.

Jeremy felt a sense of crisis greater than before. He was not going to underestimate the beast. He unsheathed his blade and covered the edge in starlight power.

This time, when the beast’s claws appeared close to him, he suddenly saw a blur in front of his eyes.

Chop!

The next moment, he brought the blade striking downward. The timing was on point. The blade came into contact with the claws.

He immediately felt the impact force. The sharp claws were strong, yet he pressed forward. The blade went deep.

The next second, the wind force struck Jeremy’s body. He flew backward like a broken kite. He held the blade tightly, so the weapon pulled free from the claws as his body rocketed away.

In a flash, he landed on the ground with a heavy thud.

A muffled grunt left his mouth. Jeremy felt a searing pain all over his body. But the sense of crisis was not over yet.

He endured the pain and forced himself up. Then, he found a nearby mountain rock to use as cover. The pain was intense.

He arrived behind the mountain rock and hid. He then looked at the bird in the sky. The brown eagle was still circling in the air.
