Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts
Chapter 1699: R-Robot!
Nathan and the team were rushing toward the Federation, wondering what kind of ability they possessed there.
"Nathan, how are we going to negotiate with them? Are we going to use the cloud-repelling device again? Or are we just going to clean up the sky?" Evelyn asked.
"That depends on what these people want. For now, I have to check the situation in their capital city first. The people there should be the most educated, so talking to them might give us some ideas."
Evelyn continued thinking about the possibilities. After all, they should be prepared for all kinds of things, especially with the time constraint.
If they took too long, they might end up wasting precious time to improve.
However, Nathan suddenly stopped after the last teleportation.
"Nathan?" Evelyn raised his eyebrows, realizing that they had arrived. In front of them was a massive city. It was actually the largest city they had ever seen.
It had an outer wall and an inner wall. The outer wall was protecting the people from the beasts. The buildings inside the inner wall seemed to be more luxurious, making her realize that they were for the people with more fortunate circumstances.
She didn’t know about the system here yet, so she wondered if there were nobles here.
"So, this is the city..." Vivian gasped. Koraxa added, "I have never seen a city this big. I guess we should just sneak into the city. I see a lot of guards, but we can sneak in easily."
Nathan was actually not surprised by the city. Instead, he was surprised by what was guarding the city.
"Ro... Ro..." Nathan was speechless. He never thought he would see such a thing in this place.
"Ro...? What? Nathan?" Evelyn was confused.
"Robot!" Nathan’s eyes brightened.
"Robot?"
"What?"
Vivian and Evelyn were confused by his reaction. Koraxa asked, "Do you mean the big chunk of metal standing by the gate, my lord?"
"Yes." Nathan nodded furiously. "We’re definitely going to learn whatever power this continent has. Let’s head inside."
Vivian and Evelyn looked at each other with a wry smile. They didn’t expect Nathan to react this strongly to something they had never seen before.
He looked like a boy who had just found a new toy he liked.
Nathan didn’t wait for them and slipped into the city. They had no other choice but to follow right after.
Once inside, the city didn’t seem as bright as they had seen from the outside. They realized that the famine had really devastated the entire continent.
Just like the village chief, they could see many skinny people who looked like they had been fasting for so long.
It looked like they had a hard time keeping up with the food demand, making Nathan wonder what they had been doing all this time.
Nathan walked around town with a grim expression. If it looked this grim, he doubted the continent could last very long. Even if they could, they would be severely weakened.
’Does the original Nathan keep failing to protect everything because of this? The other three continents end up falling to the aliens, which allows the enemy to focus all their forces on Gratzel.
’Now that I think about it, Cthulhu mentions that it’s fine if I don’t fight Azathoth because they still have one more chance. However, he requests that I create a path for the chance that will occur three hundred years later.
’Cthulhu shouldn’t know what it means, but if we’re looking at the current state of this world, Cthulhu might want me to create a situation where the people are still fighting against the aliens.
’The original Nathan never saved other continents. As a result, the aliens would concentrate on Gratzel. When he was helpless or died from old age, Gratzel would be in danger due to the number of aliens that threatened him.
’However, if I helped all these continents and let them remain standing, the number of aliens would be manageable for each continent, leading to a future where the fight continued.
’As a result, the fated person that would appear in the future would have a fighting chance.
’That’s probably how the prophecy is supposed to work. However, I have made my decision to take on this job myself.
’If I back down from here, my descendant is probably the one going to do it. After all, if I die, I definitely want to pass on all my knowledge of Earth to my descendants. And that descendant might understand me or come from Earth, which will continue my legacy.’
Nathan carefully considered the possibility, only to reach the same conclusion. Whether he succeeded in defeating the black cell or not, he needed to help these continents.
It was too late for Myrall, but it wasn’t too late for Qion.
However, if he played around like this, he might end up wasting too much time. He couldn’t afford to build everything up from scratch like when he was at Erendtall.
Although it was a bit unethical, he might have to ask Mae to get the answer he wanted from the local people.
"Well, we need information and money. Also, an inn." Nathan turned to the group. "Koraxa, I need you to take care of her. Can you do that?"
"Understood." Koraxa nodded solemnly.
"In that case, Evelyn, Vivian. You two will go around town and see if we can exchange anything for money. First, cover your mouth so that they don’t know anything about our origins. It’s not time to reveal it yet."
"Understood." They both had many things in their space rings, so they could sell various items. In the end, they could always sell food if everything didn’t work.
"What are you going to do?" Vivian asked.
"I’m going to ask around. I want to know the basic information about this place before talking with its leader."
"Alright." Evelyn nodded in agreement. "Just don’t indulge yourself too much in whatever curiosity you have right now."
"..." Nathan’s body froze before looking away. "Yes, Ma’am."
