The Clown's Harem - Chapter 20: Truth Of The Prince
On the day of the King and Princesses’ arrival, Solomon spent the day further exploring Vodengaard City.
This was important for his plans later that day. He knew that if things went wrong, he would need multiple routes to escape.
The rest of his plan was already in place. All it required him to do was sneak into the palace and wait for Lucy to get the Prince alone.
...
Solomon was aware of the layout of Vodengaard. Not only from the information Lucy had given him, but also from his own research.
The dining hall was on the bottom floor, so that guests would not need to climb the stairs to eat. However, the rooms of the house were all on the floors above.
That meant that Solomon would need to climb through a window.
This feat didn’t prove too difficult. As the sun started to set and the city streets began to clear, the guards swapped shifts.
Those who would sleep during the night would be replaced by those who slept during the day.
This was when Solomon used his chance to climb up the pipes that were conveniently covered behind a tall tree in the palace gardens.
Thank the rich for having active plumbing.
Afterwards, he crept into a window that led to a guestroom. Even that room was many times larger than any Solomon had slept in before.
He could hear the sounds of footsteps outside, as well as the sounds of a piano playing somewhere on the floor below. Most likely background noise for the dinner. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
Solomon sat by the window, positioning himself so that if someone were to enter the room, he would have time for a swift escape.
And then, he waited...
~~~
What seemed to be an hour passed. The sun had set, and Solomon guessed that it would be time for the guests to retire to their rooms.
I need to stay prepared. I have no idea when—
Solomon’s thoughts were cut off, and a sharp pain suddenly entered his mind!
It forced him to rub at his temples, however, he found that the more he thought about the pain, the more it started to subside.
As he continued to massage his head, the pain faded away further and further. It felt like he was peeling away layers of an onion, eventually arriving at what he was searching for at the centre.
After a minute of searching, he found it.
A thought in his own head that did not belong to him. It was a voice. A call.
A prayer.
’Sir Clown! Please, help me!’
’The Prince’s Chambers. I need your help!’
Solomon’s heart sank into his chest. For the first time since his transmigration, he felt true fear.
Pushing himself to his feet, Solomon opened the window and continued to climb up the pipes leading to the third floor of the palace. Although the guest rooms were on the second floor, the floors belonging to royalty were above.
He wanted to rejoice in the fact that he had heard Lucy’s prayers in the first place. He was slowly becoming more knowledgeable in the powers of godhood; however, there were more important things to focus on at that moment.
Solomon opened the window directly above and climbed through without waiting.
As he climbed through, he felt his feet land on soft carpeted ground.
It was clearly a bedroom - large and colourful. Designed for a noble.
And he wasn’t alone. On the opposite side of the room was a king-sized bed where he found two figures struggling against one another.
One of the figures was Lucy Windelle, dressed in her royal white dress, white long-sleeved gloves and her orange hair tied into a beautiful bun.
However, the man she was fighting against was trying to remove that dress by force.
He was a man of average height, with long, black, oily hair flowing down to his naked back. His clothes had been discarded on the floor, and he was only dressed in underwear.
Solomon was immediately able to grasp the situation. His blood began to boil, but he was glad he arrived before it was too late.
Prince Godrick was a rapist. It was all the more reason to kill him.
As the prince heard the sounds of footsteps landing behind him, he swiftly leapt off his bed and dove for his sword.
He and Lucy both turned to face the new arrival.
...
Lucy Windelle was out of breath. Her heart beat at an inhumane rate as she feared not only for her purity, but for her life as well.
Her eyes were blurred with tears, but even through the water, she was able to see the tall figure that stood by the open window.
The night wind blew, causing the figure’s long white hair to blow in front of his face.
He was dressed in black smart trousers and shoes, with a long-sleeved buttoned white shirt tucked into them. He wore no weapon on his hip and seemed to carry enough confidence to fuel an entire army.
Prince Godrick held his swords pointed towards the figure with shaky arms. The once confident Prince now looked like a fool dressed in only his underwear.
"I-intruder." The Prince spat in a quivering voice. "Who the fuck are you? You wish to die?"
Lucy didn’t need the figure to answer his question. She knew immediately who it was, and her mind struggled to believe that he had arrived in physical form.
She wiped the tears from her eyes, granting herself a better view of the man’s handsome face. Then, the tears suddenly started to flow again.
"Sir Clown..." Her voice trailed off with the wind.
...
The Clown brushed his white hair from his face and flashed Lucy a familiar smile.
"Princess." He said calmly. "It seems I answered your prayer just in time."
