The Clown's Harem - Chapter 21: A God

Chapter 21: A God

In all of Lucy’s life, she had never experienced a feeling similar to what she felt after laying eyes on The Clown.

She felt that even on the day she would someday be married, she would not feel as good as she did during that moment.

Before she could gather her thoughts, if such a thing was even possible, Prince Godrick spoke with stuttered words.

"Prayers? What are you suggesting, that you’re some sort of god?"

Solomon didn’t move, remaining close to the window as he spoke. "Perhaps."

The words only seemed to enrage Godrick to the point where he couldn’t take it anymore. The man dashed forwards swinging his sword in a sideways arc.

Solomon hardly moved. He allowed the blade to tear through his abdomen, sending blood scattering on the floor.

"N-no..." Lucy stuttered as she watched the worst man she had known slice open the best.

Prince Godrick’s lips twisted into a sick smile as he stared at his enemy triumphantly.

"Not so godlike, are you?"

Before the words even left his mouth, a strange glowing essence started to form from Solomon’s wound. The essence took on the shape of roses, using their powers to knit the wound in his stomach back together in merely seconds.

As this happened, Solomon stood there with an unchanging look on his face, despite being in severe pain on the inside.

Every action has its motives.

The Prince stepped away from the man in disbelief. He had never been able to use the powers of restoration before, and had certainly never seen anybody wield them at such a level.

"W-what..." He stumbled, looking like a fool in his underwear. "Who are you?"

Solomon smiled as he lifted an open palm towards the Prince. "I’m the Clown."

He clenched his fingers into a fist, and suddenly, one of Godrick’s eyes exploded like a grape.

It took him a moment to notice what had happened, but before he could even scream in pain, the other eye began to bulge grotesquely, taking on an alien-like form.

"AGHH— GAH!"

It expanded to the point where it could no longer be contained within its socket. His skull began to splinter, cracking open and tearing at the flesh of his face.

The man dropped to the floor as he screamed in agony.

Solomon turned to Lucy, who watched the scene with wide eyes. To avoid her being traumatised any further, he decided to end things swiftly.

Solomon stepped forward, took the man’s sword, and used it to slice the prince’s head off in one clean swoop.

The bloody head fell to the ground and rolled to a stop.

Just like that, the Prince had been killed by The Clown, and it felt good.

"M-mister Clown." That was all Lucy could say as she stared at the decapitated head.

But Solomon knew there was no time for talking.

"You need to leave fast, Princess, otherwise you’ll be blamed for the Prince’s death." He quickly explained.

The night was dark. She could still climb out of the window and escape.

"But what about you?" Lucy asked as Solomon directed her towards the window. "They’re going to notice the Prince is missing, and come to find him."

"Don’t worry about me."

He said nothing else before forcing her to descend down the pipe and enter the guest room where Godrick had taken her from.

I truly hope that I did not leave her too traumatised...

I promise to speak to you again soon, Princess, but something more important must be attended to. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

Solomon’s original plan was to make the murder seem like it was done by an assassin within the Kingdom. So, in order to do that, he used his finger to drop words in the blood that had been spilt.

’Badrick. He worships the evil gods.’

That was all he wrote. The name of the prince’s personal guard and best friend.

According to Juniper, Badrick was a powerful man who worshipped the God of Decay. Worshipping gods that were not the God of Restoration was illegal in the Valanian Kingdom, so if they discovered this, it would be an easy-to-believe lie.

With this plan in motion, Solomon prepared to climb back out of the mirror and make his escape. However, before he could, he heard the sounds of crumbling wood.

He turned back to the door to see that it was no longer a solid object, but rather dust on the ground.

Standing behind the door was a giant man dressed in all grey armour, a greataxe on his back. He stared down at the body of the Prince and slowly removed his helmet, revealing a handsome face.

Tears fell from his eyes as he wept for his best friend.

"You... Killed him." That was all the man said.

Solomon cursed inside his head, and he realised who the man was.

"Badrick Blackhand..."

"YOU KILLED HIM!"

Right after the fierce roar, Badrick drew the giant axe from his back and charged towards Solomon, ready to kill him by any means necessary.

...

Lucy had already curled herself underneath her bedsheets as she heard the cries of Badrick from the floor above.

Her hands shook with nerves and her teeth chattered.

The Prince had been killed. The Eastern Islands would never be the same after this.

But more importantly, her mind turned to The Clown. The god existed not only in the spiritual realm, but also in the physical.

His power was so great that he killed a prince in mere seconds.

She found her admiration growing even deeper for the being, and hoped with everything that he would be safe.
