The Last King Of Darkness
Chapter 1814 - 830: Age of Giants (Part 2)
The giant skull looked at him, the faint light in its eye sockets flickering, as if evaluating his soul. After a moment, it slowly replied, "I am Beakleus, the Red War God, also known as the God of Giants to you!"
Indeed!
Rod clenched his fist.
Besides the God of Giants, who else could use the entire Giant Graveyard as the cost to maintain the sealing’s existence?
However, his heart was also filled with doubts. Wasn’t the God of Giants, Beakleus the Red War God, already fallen in the early days of the Ancient Epoch? He had turned most of his soul into the Giant Divine Sword and torn a part of the soul body, leaving behind soul ripples. Why could there still be a residual spirit?
"I’m deeply sorry."
The dull and hollow voice of the giant skull echoed in the graveyard.
"It’s been millions of years since I last saw you. The Black Fog has taken over the land, sea, sky, Spirit Realm, starry sky, and Abyss. I can no longer bring you the opportunity for victory as I once promised."
Rod’s pupils suddenly trembled, and the tidal wave of his heart almost drowned his thoughts.
"What did you say? What opportunity for victory?"
The faint light in the empty eyes of the giant skull flickered: "Ah, it seems you have also fallen long ago. Now, you are only a remnant, an echo, a lingering melody, a past resonance... just like me."
Rod urgently asked, "What are you talking about? Dream... Of course, the former me has already fallen. How do you know him? What was your promise? What opportunity for victory?"
The voice of the giant skull became more ethereal, sounding like the cold shivering echo drifting in a tomb forgotten for countless years.
"Let Omir tell you these questions. My time is running out."
A peculiar ripple emanated from the center of the giant skull. It seemed to have accumulated for too long, so much so that the invisible ripple carried a decayed and ancient aura.
"Giant Spirit Ritual!"
Suddenly, the Book of Knowledge shouted in his mind.
"It’s the legendary Giant Spirit Ritual! A powerful ritual that can only be established with the sacrifice of a quasi-god’s soul!"
But Rod could no longer hear. An invisible storm enveloped the entire graveyard, light and shadow flickered in the space, and a powerful field transcending the Root Origin expanded here, thunderous sounds penetrated his ears.
"Ah, catastrophe."
"The catastrophe has arrived, destruction is imminent, the prologue of annihilation unfolds under the witness of fallen gods. Chaos and disorder will end all things, all miracles will extinguish, all living beings will shatter, the dark side of the universe will turn over within the Three Realms, the dark laws will govern chaos and the Abyss. Ah, this ultimate curse, the calamity of origin, please rule over the billions of planes."
"No!"
"No!"
"There is still hope, living beings are not extinct! Light and order are not extinct! Miracles are not extinct!"
"Escape!" 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"Flee!"
"Use your blood and spirit to build a true Eternal Sanctuary! Leave the material plane, hide in the Void, and drift in the Void forever!"
"...The Star Marrow Altar, the Star Marrow Altar is the key to carrying. Find the fallen souls of Kles the god of strength, Bolos the god of wisdom, and Arles the god of steel on the Fallen Ship, kill them, reclaim the remaining Star Marrow Keys, reshape the Star Marrow Space, complete our last wishes!"
Rod’s eyes widened, as if he had been transported to another space, where storms of light and shadow raged around him, lightning playing a thunderous symphony, shaping the tone of each word. Although he was no longer ordinary, his ears still resonated with a booming roar.
Suddenly, the lightning became dense, the storm became chaotic, and myriad noises mingled within the thunder.
"No!"
"No!"
"There must be! There must be a path other than fleeing..."
"Eternal Night!"
"Eternal Night is the prologue to the great disaster. Twice the Ancient Epoch was destroyed by Eternal Night... It is imperative to end Eternal Night. You, you must kill the Black Fog Primordial Body that incites Eternal Night. Otherwise, Eternal Night will never end."
The thunderous roar became more distorted, the originally grand voice infused with countless scratchy grinding sounds, a creepy noise wound itself around each note, sending a chill down Rod’s spine.
"Black Fog, the means to destroy Black Fog..."
"Ah ah ah, find the Primordial... tomb, source of the Black Fog... Godoyin Sacred Mountain, Land of Primordial, destroy the darkness, dark taboo... ah ah ah ah!"
Sharp noises erupted beside Rod’s ear, the ferocious and twisted voice severely traumatized his spirit, his humanity plunged into madness, with darkness surging through his soul.
"Master!" shouted the Book of Knowledge. "Do not listen. These are words of blasphemous pollution. Your soul has been polluted, the Dream Realm, the Dream Realm has been polluted as well!"
But at such a critical juncture, how could Rod willingly give up? He focused all his concentration, trying to find a trace of useful information amidst the maddening noise.
A terrifying spike drilled directly into his brain through his ears, madly twisting. In this violent destruction, his thoughts were already in complete disarray, but he still discerned the final two tones from the cacophony with his last shred of clear consciousness.
[Primordial Fire Furnace]
[God]
The next second, a violent explosion went off in his mind, and Rod felt his thoughts shatter into fragments, his soul pulverized in the Void, every wisp of will reduced to ashes.
