The Shining Star Above The Heaven
Chapter 1106: The Death of a Divine Being
"DEATH LAWS?! HOW COULD HE HAVE COMPREHENDED DEATH LAWS?!" the black-robed god roared in disbelieve. πππππ¬πππ·ππΏππ‘.ππΈπ
He dashed toward Aldrian, his body protected by a spatial shield. He could not understand how Aldrian was able to teleport them freely without giving them any chance to resist. He tried to protect himself, reinforcing the spatial shield to block the influence of the surrounding space.
The white-robed god followed closely behind, also dashing toward Aldrian using teleportation. Their killing intent surged outward, spreading across the vast space.
Aldrian revealed a faint smirk as he instantly teleported both of them back to the same location before they could even reach him. They were stunned as they found themselves returned to where they had been before.
"Aarghh!"
The goddess was still engulfed by the death energy, which rapidly consumed her body. Her form slowly broke apart into tiny dark particles. The golden hue of her blood shimmered for a brief moment before it turned into darkness and scattered into nothingness.
Aldrianβs comprehension of death laws at this moment might be inferior compared to true divine realm cultivators, but it was more than enough to be used against them in their sealed state.
Death laws were the bane of all existence. Under the heavens, nothing could remain unaffected by them, for they were one of the primordial laws of the cosmos. Not even gods.
This was one of the fundamental laws that shaped the entire cosmos. To comprehend it meant gaining control over a law that every living being was bound to. No one was exempt.
Everyone and everything.
Death could reach them all, even those considered dead, even lifeless objects.
At this moment, the goddess was in the process of being completely consumed by the death laws. If she died, then as a divine realm cultivator, her existence would be erased entirely. No traces. No remnants.
Even if she had been killed without the power of death laws, she would still never reincarnate.
However, Aldrian wanted her to feel the pain. He wanted her to feel the agony. He wanted her to experience the nightmare as the death energy consumed her. The latter was far more terrifying than physical pain, far beyond what victims would feel when their bodies were torn apart by death energy.
Death energy was a terrifying force that not only consumed the physical body and soul, but also slowly devoured the consciousness itself.
The goddess fell into a horrifying illusion where she was trapped within a dark realm filled with death laws. Her senses were overwhelmed by an endless dread, a suffocating darkness, and the chilling depth of the abyss.
She could not see anything. Those sensations were the only things she could feel from her own existence. She could not even sense her own body.
Although in reality she might die in an instant, to her it felt as if she had been trapped for an eternity. Even before death arrived, her mind could collapse under the strain.
Aldrian made sure she would die in agony. She would die within the nightmare. She would die by his hand. He also wanted the other two gods to witness it.
He wanted to see their reaction when he killed their fellow god. He wanted them to feel the surreal horror of watching one of their own fall. He wanted them to feel despair.
He wanted to see his revenge unfold before their eyes.
The other two gods finally attempted to attack him from a distance after repeatedly failing to approach him. Both the black-robed god and the white-robed god formed bows from their energy. One black, one white. The arrows they created carried enough power to kill even an immortal.
They drew the strings to their limit and released them. Two arrows shot forward at extreme speed, piercing through space and even time.
In the next instant, they were already in front of Aldrianβs head.
But just before the arrows could blow his head apart, Aldrian teleported to the side, effortlessly evading them. At this moment, the goddessβs entire being had almost completely disappeared.
Only her head remained, her eyes staring toward the heavens in despair. Despite everything she had experienced, a small fragment of her consciousness still lingered.
Her powerful soul and consciousness as a god were not meaningless after all. At that moment, she recalled what Aldrian had said, along with a piece of news she had once heard in the highest heavens long ago.
A piece of news she had never forgotten.
It was about an existence once worshiped by all beings of this universe. Gods and all beings beneath them across the cosmos had once revered that figure.
Many within their alliance believed that figures such as the Heavenly Demon, Long Shentian, Feng Xuanyan, and several others were the true masters of this universe.
It was only natural for them to think that way, as their strength alone rivaled many Masters of Universe across the vast cosmos.
For example, the Heavenly Demon alone could face a hundred Master of Universe level gods at his peak. He was a monster without any apparent weakness. Only through the combined efforts of another hundred Masters of Universe were they able to injure him before he escaped.
Thatβs right. Even after facing hundreds of such gods and enduring their relentless attacks, he only suffered non-fatal injuries and still managed to escape.
In comparison, there was no one, absolutely no one across the countless universes, whose history had ever recorded a god at that level capable of facing a hundred opponents of the same realm.
That alone showed how terrifying the Heavenly Demonβs strength was.
He, along with several other gods of this universe, was the reason their forces struggled to conquer this place, and why they had still failed to completely claim it.
However, from the information they had gathered, there was another terrifying existence, one far more powerful than the Heavenly Demon or anyone else they had encountered in this universe.
A figure that might be the greatest clue to reaching a higher realm of cultivation, to reaching the true peak.
It was said that he was far more ancient than any god in this universe. A mysterious existence about whom the invading forces from beyond still possessed very little information. This was because by the time their forces arrived, that ancient figure had already disappeared.
Although he had left many traces across the universe, they could not uncover much about him, which made the situation strange. It was as if all the gods of this universe had tried to erase him, hiding his existence with everything they had.
There was no information about where he had gone or what had happened to him. No images. No statues. Nothing that revealed his appearance or even his form.
Yet even the limited information they possessed described him as an absolute existence, a god above gods, a being that stood beyond any realm.
A true sovereign of this universe, to the point that no god dared to claim the universe as their own.
Even the Heavenly Demon had never declared himself its ruler, and rumors suggested that it was because of this ancient figure.
Hearing how terrifying this existence was, the invading alliance naturally remained wary. Someone far stronger than the Heavenly Demon, someone who could make even him seem insignificant, would bring catastrophe upon their forces. Their universes themselves could face destruction.
That was why they had made preparations in case they were forced to face him.
But even after so long, that figure never appeared. It was as if he did not care about the fate of the universe. If he truly was the sovereign of this universe, then he should have revealed himself and retaliated.
Yet he never did anything, which left them confused.
Was he dead?
As time passed, that figure gradually faded from most of their minds. His traces might still be scattered across many places, but they could only assume that he had already perished.
There was nothing to worry about. And if he truly had died, then they only needed to search for other clues regarding the higher realm of cultivation.
But when Aldrian declared that this was his universe, it was the first time the goddess had heard anyone make such a claim. And in that moment, she finally realized something.
She had met him.
She had met that legend.
No wonder nothing about him could be explained.
She did not know why he had become a mortal, but that no longer mattered. She knew that death had already arrived at her door. She could finally see the future she had glimpsed just half an hour ago... unfolding before her.
It seemed she would be the first to fall. The darkness, filled with nightmares, consumed her.
βAh... so this is the end. What kind of being have we been facingββ
Before she could finish her thought, her entire being disappeared.
She could not hear the desperate attempts of the other two gods to attack Aldrian, but all of it was useless. With his many methods, he forced them to watch her die while he remained untouched.
At this moment, Tarius had lost one of the gods under him... to a mortal.
