The Shining Star Above The Heaven
Chapter 1107: The Trump Card
The black-robed and white-robed gods could only watch as the woman disappeared, engulfed in death energy that took the shape of flames devouring their target. Despite their desperate attempts to stop Aldrian from killing her, they still could not stop him.
They could sense it clearly.
She was gone.
She was dead.
A god at the God Sovereign stage had fallen.
The black-robed god’s eyes suddenly turned red, and his expression became fierce.
"Mortal! You have done it this time! I will obliterate you!" he roared, losing control. Without hesitation, he unlocked the seal on his cultivation.
Boom!
A violent surge of aura swept across the vast space and made the entire central region of heaven tremble. Space shook, and the heaven and earth energy began to react to the god’s presence.
They moved toward the black-robed god and started spiraling around him. A golden hue began to appear around his body, and his aura continued to rise.
Aldrian was swept back by the burst of power, forced several meters away. He steadied himself and looked at the black-robed god, who was undergoing a rapid transformation in aura and energy.
He could tell this was the man’s final measure to kill him. The black-robed god no longer cared about anything else as long as Aldrian died.
As for the other god, although anger was clear on his face, he remained more restrained. He did not lose control, instead staring straight at Aldrian with sharp, focused eyes.
Aldrian did not know what kind of plan they had, but he could guess what the black-robed man intended to do.
He was betting everything on a short window of time.
Once the heavenly laws of the First Heaven forced him to ascend, he would have at most thirty seconds.
Thirty seconds was Aldrian’s estimation of how long any god could withstand the force of the entire heaven before being forced to ascend.
Still, for a god, that amount of time was more than enough if they truly wanted to kill someone. At that moment, some of their stronger abilities would also be restored, allowing them to use them briefly, even though doing so would bring severe consequences.
The heavens would not tolerate such defiance and might even send divine punishment for breaking the heavenly laws. From the looks of it, this god intended to push himself to the limit, even if it meant sustaining heavy injuries, just to kill him.
Although the situation before him was grim, Aldrian maintained a calm expression. Even if he chose not to fight, he could escape to a faraway place within his domain. He could teleport wherever he wished.
But that would leave trouble for the future.
If this god returned to the highest heaven and reported what he had seen, then everything he had done to make Tarius and God Arvegis clash would be wasted.
Those invading gods would likely realize that he was behind it. They would become more wary of him, and his journey in the higher heavens would grow more difficult. His enemies would unite and stop at nothing to hunt him down.
Moreover, his rage still burned.
These two gods, might very well be part of the group that hunted Long Shentian and Feng Xuanyan.
They had to die here.
Aldrian sheathed his sword and focused on both gods. He activated his avatar technique once more, and a giant golden figure holding a sword appeared again.
His then closed his eyes. His bearing became serene. In that state, the surrounding sounds grew distant, fading until he could no longer hear anything.
Time itself seemed to slow.
The black-robed god’s cultivation had already reached the Immortal Foundation stage and continued rising rapidly, almost breaking through to the next stage. As his power surged, he formed a sword from pure energy.
For most gods, their control over the power of nature, as well as their ability to create forms from energy, was far beyond mortals. Anything they created possessed enough power to destroy everything in its path. That was why they no longer relied heavily on artifacts.
That was unless the artifact could withstand the power of a god.
Only such artifacts could be used at their level, and items of that caliber were extremely rare due to the difficulty of obtaining the required materials. That was why not every god possessed one.
For the black-robed god, even though he had not yet returned to his original cultivation level, his comprehension and control over energy at this moment gave him absolute confidence.
He believed he could still kill Aldrian with ease.
He could already feel the First Heaven rejecting his existence. A growing pressure descended upon him, and an invisible force began to push him out.
Yet he forced himself to remain.
He steadied his stance, holding his sword as if preparing to deliver a single decisive slash. Heaven and earth energy from nearly a quarter of the central region of heaven surged toward him, forming a massive vortex that placed him at the center of a raging storm.
A dark red aura covered his entire body, and the power gathered within his sword continued to rise.
His aura was truly terrifying. Even countless devils a million kilometers away could sense it. They retreated further, afraid of being swept away by whatever the gods were about to unleash.
They could tell that whatever followed would be catastrophic.
They would not survive if they were caught in it.
The white-robed figure also moved back, narrowing his eyes as he looked at Aldrian. He was trying to understand what Aldrian intended to do.
Aldrian did not escape. He closed his eyes, as if he did not care about what was about to strike him.
The white-robed god had already taken position, ready to stop him if he tried to flee.
Although he still did not understand how Aldrian could freely use teleportation, he would still attempt to restrain him. Once again, he used his control over space, trying to trap Aldrian within a spatial cage to restrict his movement.
Yet Aldrian did not move.
At that moment, the black-robed man had finished his preparation, and a grin spread across his face.
"Die!"
At the same time, Aldrian opened his eyes.
Zumm!
A terrifying sword will suddenly spread across the entire central region of heaven. Every being within it could feel it.
A sharp, overwhelming sword will swept across many worlds, leaving all the devils in stunned confusion.
The black-robed god, who was about to strike, froze.
A chill ran through him.
For the first time, he felt death standing right in front of him.
His instincts screamed in warning. The moment Aldrian unsheathed that sword, he would die.
The sword will he had just sensed was something that could make even an immortal shudder.
A power capable of killing an immortal!
He had already reached the point where he only needed to unleash his strike. He could not cancel it. If he forcefully retracted his technique, he would suffer backlash, as his body had only reached the Immortal stage.
But then he glanced at his fellow god.
The white-robed god had already made his move. He must have sensed the danger as well, which pushed him to release his attack without hesitation.
The white-robed god formed a bow from pure energy, just like before. This time, however, the power condensed within the arrow was far greater.
The space around the arrow’s tip cracked, revealing faint spatial rifts. Without delay, he released it. The arrow tore through space itself as it shot forward.
At the same moment, the black-robed god unleashed his own attack. Gathering all the power in his hands, he swung his sword upward.
A catastrophic red sword energy burst forth.
It surged forward at extreme speed, rushing toward Aldrian with enough strength to kill an Immortal Foundation stage cultivator with ease.
Facing two overwhelming attacks from different directions, Aldrian finally moved.
He poured the full power of his domain into a single strike.
This was his final trump card against opponents far stronger than himself.
A technique he had not used since the battle against Tarius’ avatar.
The Slash of the End.
With gritted teeth, he unsheathed his sword.
At that moment, he felt the weight of the Sword of the End pressing down on him as he tried to unleash the strike.
With the power of the Slash of the End already far beyond any sword techniques, combined with the full might of multiple domains drawn from different worlds, it was only natural that he could feel how heavy the burden of unleashing it had become.
Still, he gritted his teeth and pushed forward.
The instant the sword left its scabbard, he swung it in a perfect angle, targeting both gods at once.
The moment a massive golden arc of sword energy appeared and shot forward, it instantly cut through both incoming attacks.
There was no resistance.
The two gods did not even have time to react.
The slash had already passed through their bodies in a single, unstoppable motion, cutting across the black-robed god’s chest and the white-robed god’s lower body.
The slash energy also swept across everything millions of kilometers away, cutting through countless devils and interstellar vessels along its path.
Even then, it did not stop. It crossed the vast expanse, slicing through asteroids and other celestial objects before finally arriving at one of the worlds within the central region of heaven!
