Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations
Chapter 1387: The Third Visit
The girl’s mind was racing, and Trevor was still waiting for her answer.
Janelle Mills leaned forward slightly, putting down her coffee cup, because she considered him a friend, and he was trustworthy.
So she opened her heart to him, a bit dejectedly saying, "I’m afraid my wish is difficult to achieve."
"Why don’t you tell me about it?" Trevor looked at her dejected little face, suddenly feeling a bit curious.
Somehow, he wished for her happiness, but her family was different from most, which surely caused her more troubles than others?
At this moment, Janelle Mills began to speak, "My biggest wish is for my mom and dad to get back together." When she looked up at him, she smiled bitterly again, "But...it’s very selfish, because Dad is already remarried, and he also needs to be responsible to another woman."
Trevor listened without speaking, the young girl was indeed very kind-hearted.
The CEO’s office fell into a brief silence.
After a while, Janelle Mills sighed softly and spoke again, "Although they haven’t had children in all these years, I know that woman must have sacrificed a lot for Dad, and my mom and dad’s divorce must have been because they really couldn’t continue their life together."
It seemed she had grown up, able to think about these issues rationally, not like a child anymore.
"I just hope they stop acting like enemies and can interact like ordinary friends, that would be good for everyone." The girl raised her eyebrows, giving him a grin, "Okay, I’ve told my wish, what’s yours?"
She actually turned the question on him?
Trevor’s lips curved slightly, he looked out the window with a gentle expression, seemingly thinking seriously, "My wish is for world peace."
The girl couldn’t help but laugh, "That’s Old Shaw’s wish!" The tense and awkward atmosphere eased because of this.
"Are you busy?" Janelle Mills asked again, afraid she might disturb him. After drinking her coffee and putting down the cup, she stood up, "Am I not disturbing you?"
Trevor remained seated on the sofa, elegantly crossing his legs, looking up at her warmly, "Be careful on your way home, I’ll pick you up tomorrow morning, the temperature’s dropping soon, make sure to dress warmly."
Every word was filled with care, yet he did not insist she stay.
The girl nodded docilely, "Okay." Then waved her hand at him, "I’ll be off now."
"Mm." He nodded too.
Janelle Mills withdrew her gaze and started walking out on her own, Trevor neither stood up nor saw her out.
Listening to those footsteps fading away, the gentle smile on his lips deepened.
Trevor knew clearly, this girl had entered his heart, and his fondness and care for her was more distinct and stronger than for Jocelyn Morgan. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
This was a rare fate, and he would cherish it dearly.
After the meeting, Nathan Mills drove straight to the hotel, ringing that doorbell for the third time today.
Each time Carlotta Sterling thought it was her daughter returning without a keycard.
So the moment she opened the door, the middle-aged man’s face came into view once more, this time with nothing in his hands.
Alone and empty-handed, he stared directly at her.
Their gaze met, former spouses, Carlotta Sterling sighed deeply, her expression somewhat impatient, but she did not obstruct him, leaving the door open as she turned and walked inside.
Nathan Mills followed her in, without closing the door, instead he opened it wide, saying, "You can’t stay at this hotel any longer."
