Janelle Mills also stopped, turning her head in confusion to look at him. Why weren’t they moving?

She saw him take out a phone and earphones, his fingers deftly touching the screen, then placing the earphones around her neck, "Listen to music, don’t listen to their nonsense."

"..." She was puzzled, but he helped her to put on the earphones, and a song started playing.

He adjusted the volume to a suitable level, put the phone back in his pocket, and wrapped his arm around her shoulder again, leading her forward.

"Who is singing by the riverside? Singing of apricot blossoms and light rain, of northern autumn chill? Who is standing alone under the moon? Drinking a cup of sorrow until it breaks the heart..."

The melancholic tune and lyrics quickly captured her mind, drowning out the surrounding chatter.

Janelle slowly immersed herself in another world... and wasn’t so afraid anymore.

The morning dew was gradually thinning. They followed the innkeeper through one arch after another, walking along the mossy cobblestone road. There weren’t many tourists, making it feel even more tranquil.

Janelle admired the beauty of the ancient town, listening to the folk-style songs, with the man she liked by her side, feeling quite content.

"Jocelyn! Jocelyn Morgan?!"

Not far ahead, Ian Shelby was running and searching, coming right toward them! Sweat beads had formed on his forehead.

Trevor and Janelle both saw him and were stunned! 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

Seeing him looking around anxiously, as if searching for something, taking out his phone to call, but failing to get through.

"Jocelyn! Where are you?! Jocelyn Morgan! Come out!!" Ian was really anxious.

Trevor and Janelle stopped in their tracks, and she instinctively pulled out her earphones, hearing Ian calling Jocelyn Morgan!

It was only three meters away when Ian saw them.

Ian, who had been anxiously searching, holding his phone, paused. Why were they here too??

Trevor had a vague sense of foreboding.

Ian walked briskly toward him, "Have you seen Jocelyn?" His voice was flustered.

In his eyes, Trevor saw panic and fear. So, Jocelyn Morgan was missing? Trevor’s heart sank! Instantly dropped to the bottom!

The innkeeper, holding a suitcase, glanced over, "..." thinking, why were they chatting now?

Trevor met Ian’s gaze, further confirming his suspicions.

Immediately, his whole body tensed, and he quickly said to the innkeeper, "Please take our luggage to the room, we’ll navigate our way back!"

"Oh, okay!" The innkeeper looked at the three of them, nodding as he left, thinking it must be fate to meet acquaintances like this.

Looking around, a dozen police officers were going around asking questions, as if investigating a criminal case.

Ian briefly explained the situation to them, telling them that Jocelyn was missing.

"She left with her phone fully charged. We were on an ancient bridge, I just went to the bathroom, and when I came out she was gone, and I couldn’t reach her phone."

"How long has it been?" Trevor’s expression changed slightly, his tone holding a hint of tension and worry.

Ian answered, "It’s been two hours." Her heart grew more panicked.

Trevor pointed to the alley on the right and asked, "Has this alley been searched?"

"Not yet." Ian shook his head, a bit unsure and deeply regretting, "It’s all my fault."

"Now is not the time for blame, finding her is urgent." Trevor didn’t even pull Janelle, he immediately strode toward the alley alone!

"..." Janelle was startled, quickly glancing at Ian, and hurriedly followed Trevor!

The earphones playing music fell out of his pocket, earlier he was worried she would be scared, but now he had left her behind.
