With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods
Chapter 1451: Beaten black and blue
There were wry smiles on the faces of all the disciples from the Five Great Sects that tried to break through the defenses of this pavilion.
It wasn’t just the four righteous sects that were being sent flying, it was also members of the Heavenly Demon Sect that were also being sent flying.
After all, it wasn’t just the righteous sects that gathered.
Everyone had gathered here after the commotion that was caused when this pavilion opened.
The problem was that no one was able to make it through the solid defenses that this pavilion had. No matter how they tried to break through, they would always be sent flying by whatever was protecting this place.
It reached the point where there were even special techniques that were being used. Only no matter how they tried, it seemed like nothing would work against whatever was defending this place.
It was as if whatever was here was immune to anything that they could have pulled out.
"Just what is hiding in this place?"
That was the only thing that anyone could think as they watched everyone being thrown away.
But as time passed, there were those that were knocked away that woke up.
When they woke up, they looked around themselves as if they were trying to figure out where they were. There were some that were even amazed that they were still alive.
After all, the force that they had been hit with wasn’t weak. It should have been more than enough to kill them...or at least it would have been if the other side was serious about killing them.
So why were they still alive?
"Does that mean that they just want to get rid of us? They aren’t actually planning on killing us?"
But as they thought this, they couldn’t help feeling even more confused about what was defending this place.
It would only make sense that it was there to get rid of anyone that would want to intrude in this pavilion. And the best way to do that was to get rid of them permanently...
While they were still dazed, there was one of them that suddenly made a decision.
"I’ll try it again."
As soon as they had this thought, they ran at the pavilion once more to try and break through.
"I actually blocked it?"
That was the first thought that came to mind.
The second thought was...
"Damn it, why is there a second blow?"
In the end, that person was still thrown out of the pavilion just like before.
The only difference was that he got a single step further than he did last time as he blocked the first attack that came at him.
Once he landed, there were those that came over to see what his condition was. These were mainly the ones that had been thrown out of the pavilion previously.
They had also thought about running into the pavilion again, but they had been afraid that it would cost them their lives this time. Which was why they wanted to see what would happen to them if they did the same thing as this person.
"He’s still alive..."
These were the murmurs that went through the crowd that gathered around him.
They could see that he was still alive, but he had been knocked out again from whatever was inside the pavilion. At the same time, there seemed to be this bruise on the face of this person from where he had gotten hit.
However, this did confirm that whatever was inside didn’t want to take their lives.
As long as whatever was inside didn’t want to take their lives, then they didn’t mind a few bumps and bruises to break through. Even if it hurt, they were cultivators and they were used to forcing their way through.
That was just how cultivation was in the first place.
After this was confirmed, there were a few that charged at the pavilion right away.
Of course, the same thing happened where they were knocked back by whatever was inside the pavilion and fainted again. However, they were able to block the first blow that came at them just like that person from before.
It seemed like all of them were learning about the patterns of the thing inside the pavilion.
The ones that didn’t run in right away paused for a moment before splitting into two separate groups.
There were those that followed and charged at the pavilion as well, suffering the same fate as the ones before them.
Then there were those that turned around to leave.
It wasn’t that they weren’t tempted by whatever was hiding inside of this pavilion, it was just that there were other things that they could be doing. This was just one pavilion in the entire Dao Sect ruins and there were other treasures to be found.
It was clear that this was something that would take a lot of time and effort to unlock, so it didn’t feel like it was worth it.
They felt that it was better to spend their time looking for other things.
Which was why they left to find other opportunities. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
Still, those that remained started coming up with plans to take on this pavilion.
Instead of rushing in all at once, they decided to split up into groups.
Though the way that they utilized these groups certainly was considered strange.
After all, they took turns charging into the pavilion.
Those that were knocked out were woken up by the ones that remained outside of the pavilion before they changed positions. The ones that were woken up stood outside until the other ones were knocked out again and they would wake them up.
In a way, this was how they took a break between attempts at breaking through the pavilion.
In the end, they were completely covered in bruises as they were beaten black and blue. However, it didn’t seem like they were down because they were being beaten like this.
If one looked closely, they could see that these people actually seemed excited about being beaten like this.
It wasn’t that they had awakened to something new...
"So they’re slowly being trained by the training dummies hiding in the dark."
Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan could easily see this from the position that they were observing from. Even if they didn’t look closely, it was easy to tell that the ones that were being thrown out of the pavilion were being sharpened by the training dummies attacking them.
It was the simplest way for them to be trained.
They were being beaten until they had no choice but to adapt.
It was a crude method, but it was certainly working as they were adapting.
"So unless one clears this hall, they won’t be able to reach the treasures inside. However, what kind of treasures would this training hall be hiding?"
"Techniques."
Lin Fan had asked this question to himself rhetorically, but he never expected an actual answer from Xiao Sheng.
But the moment that Xiao Sheng answered, he asked, "What kind of techniques are there?"
"Well, it depends on your performance...but I remember that a few of the disciples mentioned some of the inner sect techniques being stored here. Though from what I heard, it seemed like it was nothing more than motivation for the outer sect disciples to work hard."
Though Xiao Sheng mentioned that there were nothing more than inner sect techniques, that was still enough of a threat that they had to deal with this.
After all, the inner sect for the Dao Sect was different from the inner sect for the Five Great Sects.
To compare them, one had to think in terms of at least the core disciples.
That meant that these were techniques that could be considered core techniques of the Five Great Sects. Techniques like this were too dangerous to hand over to the righteous sects...
When Lin Fan told Ye Qing Huan what Xiao Sheng told him, she had the same thought as him. After all, they were here to help the Heavenly Demon Sect and it wouldn’t be right to let techniques like this fall into the hands of the other sects.
It was just that they didn’t know how they could break through without attracting attention.
Even if they were to use something to hide themselves, there was no doubt that it would be exposed once they stepped into the pavilion. There was no telling what kind of arrays were left there by the Dao Sect, but they certainly wouldn’t be normal.
So there was nothing that they could do right now other than watch.
"There might be another path..."
Once again, Xiao Sheng’s voice came from inside of Lin Fan’s mind.
As soon as he heard this, Lin Fan couldn’t help knitting his brows.
After all, the way that Xiao Sheng said this didn’t sound like she was confident about what she was saying. It sounded like Xiao Sheng was even a bit afraid of saying what she wanted to say.
Since that was the case, it meant that there had to be something very different about this path that she was talking about.
After a moment of hesitation, Lin Fan still asked, "What is this other path?"
"It’s another entrance for a different trial, but this one is for the core disciples of the Dao Sect. It’s not something that normal disciples should even know about, but that old man shared it with me along with some other secrets about the Dao Sect."
"A path just for core disciples..."
