Yandere Milfs Devouring In Eroge Game
Chapter 119: Uneasy Alliance
Morning heat poured through the ruined outpost window long before the sun actually crested the horizon.
Kai woke up and stretched his sore muscles because sleeping on a stone floor was never really comfortable.
Yena was already rolling her bedroll into a tight cylinder.
She strapped her gear together with practiced efficiency, clearly accustomed to surviving this miserable wasteland alone.
’She moves like a professional,’ Kai thought to himself while brushing sand off his trousers.
’And she looks extremely good doing it.’
"You stare too much," Yena remarked without even looking over her shoulder.
She tied her spear to her leather pack and finally turned around.
"I am leaving in five minutes. If you want to survive, you should probably start walking before the sun bakes your brain."
"I have a better idea," Kai countered smoothly, stepping closer to her.
"I have a horse carrying plenty of water and fresh rations. You have the local knowledge I need to cross the Ashen Dunes without falling into another beetle nest. We should travel to the next major outpost together."
Yena narrowed her eyes and looked him up and down.
"I don’t trust men easily, especially pretty boys wandering the dunes with daggers. You will just slow me down when the real monsters show up."
"I killed those bugs outside without breaking a sweat," Kai reminded her with a confident smile.
"I can handle a few lizards. Besides, traveling alone out here seems like a really boring way to spend your days."
She sighed and grabbed her waterskin.
"Fine. But you walk in front, and you follow my instructions. If you complain about the heat once, I’m leaving you for the buzzards."
’Having a guide will make this place easy to figure out.’
They hit the trail just as the morning air turned uncomfortably warm.
Kai led his black mare by the reins while Yena walked beside him.
She set a punishing pace across the sloping white dunes, but Kai matched her stride easily as his system stats kept his stamina high.
"You really do look like a soft city boy," Yena teased an hour into their hike.
She glanced at his fine clothing and smirked.
"Your skin is far too smooth for this wasteland. I bet you used expensive oils and slept on silk sheets before you stumbled into my desert."
Kai laughed and drank from his canteen.
"I just know how to take care of myself. But looking at your strong hands, I imagine a capable woman like you must get pretty lonely out here in the middle of nowhere."
Yena rolled her eyes, but a faint blush dusted her sun-tanned cheeks.
"My hands are meant for stabbing things, not entertaining arrogant kids. You should save your cheap flirting for the tavern girls in Sunfall Oasis."
"I prefer women who can actually fight back," Kai replied, offering her a wicked wink.
"Tavern girls are too fragile."
Before Yena could formulate a sharp reply, the sand a few yards ahead of them shifted unnaturally.
Three long ridges formed under the surface, rushing straight toward their foot at alarming speeds.
[Enemy Detected: Sand Lurkers - Level 28]
[Warning: Subterranean predators approaching]
"Lurkers," Yena shouted, spinning her spear gracefully into a ready stance.
"Get them above the surface so I can stab them."
Kai was already moving.
He pulled his mana together and slammed his boot hard against the hot sand.
"Glacial Step," Kai commanded.
A wide ring of blue ice exploded outward from his foot.
The freezing magic chilled the ground instantly, turning the loose grains into a solid sheet of hard frost right over the burrowing monsters.
The sudden temperature drop forced the Sand Lurkers to burst upward through the ice to escape the cold. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
They looked like oversized, scaly monitor lizards with snapping jaws and long, whipping tails.
Yena lunged forward the exact moment the first lizard broke the surface.
She thrust her spear with lethal precision, catching the beast right under its jaw.
Blood sprayed across the white frost, but the second lizard whipped its tail toward her ankles.
Kai stepped in smoothly and froze the incoming tail mid-swing.
He drew his dagger and slashed across the monster’s throat while it was pinned to the ground.
Yena pulled her spear free and spun around to impale the third lizard before it could even fully emerge from its icy hole.
They stood breathing heavily in the quiet desert air. The entire skirmish lasted less than thirty seconds, but their teamwork flowed together seamlessly.
"Not bad for a soft city boy," Yena admitted, pulling a rag from her belt to wipe her bloody spear tip.
"Not bad for a grumpy woman," Kai shot back, sheathing his weapon.
"We make a pretty good team."
They continued walking until the sun finally dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in vibrant shades of bruised red and deep orange.
They found a shallow cave carved into the side of a tall rock formation and decided to make camp.
Kai started a small fire using dried brush while Yena lay out their bedrolls close to the warmth.
The nighttime chill settled over the desert quickly.
Kai sat cross-legged near the flames and tossed a piece of dried meat to Yena. She caught it easily and sat down right next to him.
The proximity was deliberate as the small cave did not offer much space, but Kai enjoyed the warmth radiating from her body.
"You fought well today," Yena murmured, chewing on the tough meat.
"I usually prefer working alone because partners get careless, but you actually watch your corners."
"I told you I was reliable," Kai smiled, leaning back against the rock wall.
He let his eyes wander over her curves illuminated by the flickering firelight.
"And I’m very good at following instructions when I need to."
Yena caught his wandering gaze and offered a slow smile.
She leaned a fraction closer to him, and the scent of leather and wild sage filled his senses.
"Is that right?" Yena whispered, her voice dropping into a husky register.
"Because you strike me as a boy who likes to be in control of every single situation."
"I can be flexible," Kai replied, shifting closer so their knees brushed lightly.
"It just depends on who is giving the orders."
The sexual tension between them felt palpable in the cramped space.
Yena didn’t pull away from his touch, and her eyes held a daring challenge.
Kai knew he needed her knowledge to reach Sunfall Oasis safely, but exploring this sudden connection seemed like a much better way to spend the cold desert night.
But now at the moment.
He needs to take his time.
