Zombie Bodyguard
Chapter 1778 - 1775: This Game Can Kill
"Keep approaching," Lin Tian felt confident, speaking with ease, and with his incredible eyesight, he could already vaguely see through the mist, spotting a shadow. It’s indeed a large entity, bigger than the few islands they had seen before. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
The yacht continued to approach, the sea around them gradually became hazy, nearing the edge of the mist.
"Lin Tian, there’s a reef ahead, we can’t move forward anymore," Xiao Manxue reported the new situation.
"Master, should I take you across?" Charlotte suggested again.
What? Being carried while flying doesn’t feel safe, and if you two Goddesses argue in the sky and you throw Miss into the sea, what then? That would create a big problem. Lin Tian imagined being grabbed by a bat, making him uncomfortable.
Even if she just transformed to fly with bat wings, maintaining a human form, Lin Tian was still not used to it.
"Ahem, let’s forget about it, let’s go down and have a look, there should be a lifeboat on board, we can take a small boat over," Lin Tian quickly declined Charlotte’s offer. The Princess seemed to see through Lin Tian’s thoughts, showing a playful smile.
If necessary, Lin Tian could just use a lifebuoy to swim over. Luckily, he was correct, the yacht had a small lifeboat, which was meant for escaping during a shipwreck.
Though small, the lifeboat could carry three people. They filled it with fuel and started the engine, and the lifeboat made a sputtering sound as it headed into the mist, while the yacht anchored temporarily outside.
It was unclear whether the lifeboat’s speed was slow or the mist itself was large, but despite the shadow in the mist being right there, after more than ten minutes, they still hadn’t seen the imagined island.
As Lin Tian and the others ventured deeper into the mist, two more yachts appeared from two different directions in the mist, one with only three people, the other with over ten, all dressed in black, resembling ninjas.
Three groups, each entering the mist from different positions, yet aiming for the same goal.
Driving the lifeboat, Xiao Manxue cautiously navigated through the mist, suddenly the surroundings brightened, the mist disappeared, and the view opened up.
"Island!" Xiao Manxue shouted excitedly.
Of course, Lin Tian saw it too. The island suddenly appeared in front of them, and as he looked back, there was still mist behind. It turned out the lifeboat had exited the mist’s range.
This mist was ring-shaped and hollow, dense around the edges, but with clear weather inside where the island was.
Surrounded by dense mist, with blue skies overhead, and a green island in front, such a strange scene felt like stepping into a fantastical world to Lin Tian.
Lin Tian looked as far as he could but couldn’t see the island’s end. He estimated it at about a quarter of Dayan Island’s size, with short trees growing across it. Islands this far out often face stormy seas, making it difficult for taller vegetation to survive.
The lifeboat landed on a gentle beach, and the three of them disembarked, walking on soft, white sand as they headed inland.
There was no denying, this island hadn’t been polluted by industry or garbage, exuding an aura of pristine nature, with sand washed clean by the sea daily, pure and flawless. Dayan Island’s beach was decent, but compared to this, it was hardly worth mentioning.
"If this island weren’t so far from the coast, it probably would have been developed already. No matter how we try to maintain it, the environment constantly suffers damage, it’s a pity," Xiao Manxue lamented slightly.
"It’s a pity, but first we need to find the Eye of the Creator. I have a feeling, the gemstone is on the island," Lin Tian looked towards the island’s interior, where tall trees didn’t grow but unique island vegetation thrived.
Just as they were about to venture further, they heard a buzzing sound overhead. As they looked up, a helicopter flew across the island’s sky, and then someone jumped out of it.
This person wore a flight suit, gliding down without even using a parachute, disappearing into the island’s depths in a blink.
"It’s Li Wenfeng!" Xiao Manxue remarked with a frown.
Lin Tian and Charlotte weren’t ordinary people either; their exceptional eyesight made them easily recognize who had jumped from the aircraft.
"Seems like this deserted island is about to liven up," Lin Tian commented with a faint smile.
"They’re all parasites, not thinking for themselves, just trying to piggyback off the master’s efforts," Charlotte coldly remarked, clearly aggrieved for Lin Tian.
"Let them follow, it’s too boring to obtain it too easily. Let’s treat it as everyone coming to the island to play a survival game, but this game could turn deadly," Lin Tian was indifferent, but his tone was remarkably cold.
Lin Tian immediately activated his super vision, his view spreading out from himself as if a super cheat mode had been engaged, all the surrounding scenes being fed back into his mind.
"There’s something happening over there," Lin Tian quickly detected an anomaly.
The three rushed over and indeed saw a patch of grass, its soil somewhat loose, with two rows of footprints extending into the island’s depths.
"Some of these footprints have already blurred, should be from a few days ago. It’s very likely that the people sent by the Old Earl to hide the treasure landed here from the grass," Lin Tian surveyed the surrounding environment, arriving at a very favorable conclusion.
His analysis was precise, leaving the two Goddesses staring at him, not in admiration, but in surprise at how Lin Tian knew the footprints were here.
Does this jerk have the Thousand-mile Eye? Xiao Manxue wildly speculated, unknowingly nearing the truth.
Lin Tian pretended not to notice their expressions, taking the lead following the footprints, with the two following behind. Their speed was rapid, but eventually, the footprints vanished as they reached rocky terrain where footprints could not be left.
However, this couldn’t stop Lin Tian; his super vision scanned ahead, discovering a natural cave. Lin Tian didn’t provide explanations, directly running towards it, while the two became numb to his seemingly divine abilities, no longer questioning, just following.
The cave was tall and wide, easily allowing a large truck to enter, and it was very dry inside. The island having such a dry cave was likely due to its orientation, fully protected from moist sea winds and not prone to water accumulation.
The deeper they went into the cave, the wider it became, eventually nearly the size of a classroom. At the cave’s end, darkness surrounded them, but posed no hindrance to Lin Tian. On a smooth rock, he finally spotted something conspicuously out of place within the cave.
A wooden box, made of dark sandalwood, its surface intricately carved, clearly indicating it was the Old Earl’s deposited item. Lin Tian’s super vision scanned, his gaze penetrating the box, revealing a black diamond quietly lying inside.
"Found it," Charlotte exclaimed excitedly, ready to run over and grab it.
A voice suddenly intervened, "If I were you, I’d stand still." Almost simultaneously, three figures appeared.
