The web is finely stitched like a real handkerchief, and the lettering made from the web is clear enough that Elaina and the kids can read and understand it. And for the first time, this is an unprecedented thing coming from a monster like the spider.

But considering it decided to communicate by using its webs, that only means one thing, and that this spider possesses intellectual capability to understand and communicate with humans, which is hard if the individual itself is not even one of the intelligent beings. She needs to verify if the spider is actually just using a regular copied response just to let their guard down. Asking it questions and seeing how this spider answers should allow Elaina to know if this spider is acting or genuinely answering.

Since it is willing to communicate, Elaina decided to communicate with the spider, ask its reason and intention. After all, a spider is considered a predator of the bees, and how should Elaina know if this spider actually eats the bees one at a time? By the time she notices it, the bees are gone, and she didn’t want that to actually happen.

"If what this web is true, what is your purpose? Why are you here and staying at the top of the tree? How did you even manage to sneak in and get here without tripping the alarm system of the farm?"

The spider pulls up the web, and a few seconds later, another set of webs falls down, and this time, it contains the answer to her questions.

"My body is made of hair follicles that can cancel magic barriers and can act as camouflage that would render detection abilities useless, which allowed me to easily get here without problem. And as I said before, I come for peace. I don’t mean any harm."

Elaina scratches her head. The message is very clear...but it was like the spider just wrote it on the web instead of stitching it like doing it with its webs. Does a spider have the capability of stitching webs so fast and even having different colors in the process? The web has black and white colors, and she doesn’t know any kind of spider that has that capability. Still, that is a response, alright.

"Fine, I acknowledge that you have indeed come here without the intention to cause chaos and danger. But how can you prove that you are not a dangerous monster? You are even hiding from us and won’t even share what you look like."

The spider didn’t respond for a few minutes after that. However, it soon came out from the shadows, and this time around, the whole view of the spider appears before them.

Its body is quite big. It is much bigger than a regular horse carriage, so that if you put it beside one, one might think that the spider can easily crush it. The color of its body is black, but there are lines of brown and red that make it look like a stripe on its body. It has thick hair everywhere on its body, making it look like it is fur instead of hair. Compared to what Elaina thought to be a menacing and dangerous-looking spider, it somehow looked a bit cuter to Elaina. Its eight, huge, red, round eyes also looked like jewels attached to its head, which is bright enough to light up in the dark. Just a little bit scary considering that it is still a beast.

"What a huge spider...but what kind of spider is it? I don’t think I have seen this kind or even read in books about this kind of spider?" Adelaide got curious about the spider before them. After all, it seems like it is some kind of new variant or new species that has not yet been recorded in books.

"[Sure, as long as it is related to monsters and animals, I can answer them. Go on, ask away!]"

"Well, in that case, do you know what kind of creature that spider over there is?" Elaina then looked at the spider at the top of the tree.

"[Oh my! It’s the Mountain Spider Deity! That’s a rare spider that only exists in various lands that have yet to be discovered by humans. You can say they are a relative of Jumping Spiders and Tarantulas and are considered the most elusive species of spiders that have been created and ever existed. As for why it is hard to find, detecting it hard to do due to its fur on its body capable of rendering magic useless. It has anti-magic properties, making it capable of shrugging magic attacks like nothing.]"

"Should I be worried? I mean, that spider is big. I can fight it, but the kids are smaller than the spider itself, so I am not sure whether I need to be on high alert and fight against it or if I should just leave it alone."

"[You don’t need to worry about this spider, Elaina. As I said before, this spider is a distant relative of jumping spiders. They don’t create their own webs as a house as they prefer to take shelter in large trees and make their nest and perhaps their home there, and they don’t hunt for prey. What they eat is fruits, honey, and considering this spider eats honey, it can protect the bees in your farm in exchange for honey for food. They are also gentle creatures that will only fight if they are threatened. Of course, don’t underestimate them just because they are gentle creatures, as they can still cause danger due to their size alone.]"

"Do these kinds of spiders actually communicate with humans as well, Goddess?"

Elaina scratches her chin, "Well, this spider is talking with me and is communicating by using its web to "talk" and send what it was thinking non-verbally."

Elaina glanced again at the spider and decided to continue talking with it.

"Guess you understood what I said, and although you are big and looked dangerous, you have shown that you are indeed able to understand me. Even so, what is your purpose for staying here? This tree already had the bees living inside. With a presence like you, it’s enough to stop them from even going out of their homes in fear of being eaten. Isn’t it best for you to explain this matter on why you wanted to stay?"

The spider immediately started spinning webs like before. The Goddess of Taming is also watching the situation closely to ensure that what Elaina described is indeed communication and not just mimicry."

After a few minutes, the spider finished its response and dropped the web again to Elaina.

"I am sorry for suddenly intruding. I am looking for a good place to make my home away from monsters that eat my eggs. I needed to have my babies be safe until they hatch. But since there is no great place to make a home with, aside from this big tree, I took the gamble and decided to get in here and create my home at the top. I apologize if I ever scared your kids."

The Goddess of Taming also reads the spider’s response and her eyes went wide after seeing this incident. "[Wow! It’s using its web to speak and communicate! Never in my life would I think something like this will ever happen! Elaina, this is a good chance! Tame it and make it stay on your farm! Not only will this spider help with the security, but it can also provide strong and sturdy threads that can be used to sew clothes. Their threads are sturdy enough that a hankerchief made from their webs are considered quite expensive due to its capability to remain clean even when cleaning stains!]"

Hearing this, Elaina’s eyes lit up. Sewing is something that she has been doing back when she was the empress. It’s her only form of indoor hobby after work and to also de-stress herself after a whole day’s work of paperwork and meetings. Hearing that this spider is producing top-tier threads that can make a handkerchief made from its threads to remain forever clean is something else. If this is true, she needed this spider in her farm.
