Being Op With My Broken System: All Limits Have Errors - Chapter 301: Duo assessment
CH 301
Alex stared calmly at instructor Henry from inside his formation as the instructor completed his spell, not a shred of nervousness could be seen on his face.
This made instructor Henry smile slightly, it showed that Alex was confident in his formation.
"I’m going to attack now," he said to Alex.
Right after saying that, the star constellations above him released powerful bursts of mana that rushed into the ground around the instructor.
"Control," instructor Henry said as his eyes glowed with brown light.
After he said the name of the spell, the ground trembled as if an earthquake was occurring. Shortly after the tremor, the ground around Alex’s barrier started to rise slowly and before anyone could even notice.
BOOM!
The ground exploded as two massive rock arms burst forth from the ground, each arm gripping a large stone axe.
They didn’t waste time and immediately attacked Alex’s golden barrier right after appearing. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Bang!!!
Both stone axes smashed down on the golden barrier with great force; the impact caused the ground to shake violently, and a strong Shockwave swept in all directions.
The students were horrified by this scene while the instructors watched attentively, but what happened next was even more shocking.
The instant the stone axes made contact with the golden barrier, not only did the barrier tank the attacks without even shaking. The light of the golden barrier intensified, and in the next instant, two large golden arms holding axes materialised above the barrier.
They looked very identical to the instructor’s spell, only that they were golden instead of brown.
Immediately after appearing, the two golden arms attacked the rock arms with their axes.
Bang!
Shockingly enough, the two rock arms were instantly destroyed and shattered into chunks of earth that scattered in different directions.
The golden arms withdrew back into the golden barrier after dealing with the perpetrators and silence returned to the field.
The students "..."
The instructors "..."
That...that was an Archmage rank spell, Alex’s formation not only stopped but also destroyed an Archmage rank spell!!
The students were unable to believe that Alex was a first-year student like them; he was definitely a senior student who had invaded their class!
As for Eric and the instructors, they all stared at Alex in awe. The abilities of his formation had left them far beyond impressive.
As for instructor Henry. After his spell was countered, he stood there in silence for a few seconds and just gazed at Alex’s golden barrier.
He finally reacted after almost ten seconds had passed.
"Good, very good!" Instructor Henry exclaimed as he walked toward the formation, the brown star constellations around him gradually disappearing.
Alex took this as a sign that the assessment was over and proceeded to deactivate the formation.
The golden barrier disappeared and instructor Henry walked up to Alex.
"Haha, I just know that you would exceed my expectations but I didn’t expect that you would exceed it by this much, great work Ake, I’m proud of you!" Instructor Henry said with a satisfied laugh while patting Alex on the shoulder.
"Thank you," Alex responded with a simple smile.
Instructor Henry paused and stared at Alex for a bit before opening his mouth.
"Alex, you obviously have a great talent for learning about formations. What do you think of becoming my student? I’ll teach you everything I know about formations and we can dive into the research of formations together!" Instructor Henry stated, staring at Alex with glowing eyes.
Some of the instructors rubbed their faces upon hearing this, they had expected as much after seeing Alex’s performance.
As for the students, they were just shocked.
Alex stared at instructor Henry with a slightly stunned look. The offer had honestly taken him by surprise and he was very tempted to accept, which he would have done without hesitation under normal circumstances.
Alex was also very interested in learning more about formations and would have jumped at this chance without a second thought.
But his current situation forced him to hesitate. He had too many things that he needed to take care of and becoming someone’s personal student at the moment wouldn’t be a wise choice.
He just didn’t have that much free time.
"Thank you for the offer, instructor. But I currently have a lot of things that need my attention, could you give me some time to think about it?" Alex said with a weak smile.
"Hmm, I understand. Just keep my offer in mind, you know where to look for me when you’re ready." Instructor Henry nodded and said.
He stepped away from Alex after that and the file appeared in his hand again.
He told the students that the assessment was now over and they could leave.
The students started to leave the field, and the other instructors also returned to their various classes.
Eric went to meet up with Alex as they left the field together.
"Yeah, you didn’t know which formation to make and then went ahead to create a level 4 formation. What was that formation by the way?" Eric said in a teasing tone while walking beside Alex.
Alex scratched his right cheek with a finger and let out an awkward chuckle.
"Hehe, I honestly didn’t know what to make. As for that formation, I saw it in a dream."
Eric "..."
Alex didn’t bother to explain further. The truth was that he had gotten the idea from the formation of that brown-haired kid from earlier, whose formation attacked anyone who got too close.
But Alex didn’t want to make something too similar. Since the student’s formation attacked whoever came close, Alex decided to make a formation that could block and mirror attacks!
....
Next was the practical assessment for the spell structure class.
Alex and a handful of other students with the space element gathered in the lecture hall while instructor Bree stood in front of the class.
Without wasting time, she began to call the students one after the other to come to the front of the class.
Their assessment was simple, make a spell on the spot and explain its fundamentals to the class.
To make it easier for the students, instructor Bree told them that the rank of the spell didn’t matter. They just had to make sure it worked and others could cast it after listening to their explanation once.
And so, the students of the space element spell structure class came out one after the other and started their assessment.
As this was one of the most treated topics during their several months of learning, the students had no issues with the assessment.
They were even grateful to the instructor for making the assessment so easy.
It was soon Alex’s turn and he didn’t overdo it. Without using the system, Alex created a Core rank spell in under two minutes and spent three minutes explaining it to the class.
In the end, Alex’s assessment took only five minutes which was very fast considering that the others were using ten or more minutes for everything.
After three hours, everyone had completed the assessment. Instructor Bree nodded, glad that the students had learned so much from her teaching.
Although not all of them were as fast as Alex, she was still happy.
After all, she wasn’t as fast as Alex when she was a student like him.
...
Time passed quickly, the students were soon through with all of the practical assessments and it was finally time for the last assessment.
The duo assessment!
For the duo assessment, the students were brought to the training building.
Within the training building, there were several arenas where students could spar with each other.
Each area was three to four times larger than a basketball court, and the walls were reinforced with reinforcement to prevent damage.
The students were asked to wait outside with their partners and would only enter when their names were called.
About a hundred students gathered in front of each training arena while two or three instructors went inside the arena.
The instructors already had the names of each student and their partners, so there wasn’t any mix-up when calling students into the arena.
While waiting for their turn, Eric and Alex chatted in the corner.
Well, it was more of Eric asking questions.
"What type of beast do you think we’ll face?"
"I don’t know,"
"How should we deal with it? Will you hold it down while I cut it or should I distract it for you to land a killing hit?"
"Let’s see what type of beast we’ll face first,"
"Or should we use formations? The instructors will definitely be more impressed. I can buy you some time so you can create that formation of yours.
Would a golden magic beast appear if a magic beast attacked the formation?"
Alex "..."
Does this kid ever get tired of talking?
"Eric Osworth and Alex Zoran, come in!"
At this moment, the voice of the instructor came from inside the arena.
Alex let out a breath of relief, it was finally their turn.
He felt that he might have fallen asleep if he kept listening to Eric for another minute!
