A number of university students are given a simple survey in which they must watch a number of short films and rank them in order of preference. The reader takes the survey along with them with the short films being told as short stories.

A few hundred years ago, Earth was affected by a mysterious force from the depths of the universe, triggering the revival of spiritual energy. However, things didn’t turn out as wonderful as humanity had imagined. The spiritual energy carried a strange power that caused the corpses of all living things to rise again, transforming into ghouls. However, this process required a special profession to assist these rune cultivators—to constantly modify and engrave their runes, making them more refined and perfect.This profession came to be known as Rune Engraving.

In a world heavily dependent on technology, humanity always strived for more. And when they transferred the human consciousness into a virtual world, everything changed.

People got different systems, some unlocked superpowers while others simply became stronger. There were all kinds of things people obtained, and they all came from an unknown world later named “System Online”.
