A conversation with a handsome stranger leaves Ariane chained in a cellar with a strange affliction. She soon discovers that the darkness of the nineteenth century’s Deep South hides many dangers. Mages, wolf shifters and the humans who hunt them play a risky game where to stumble is to die, all under the amused gaze of the apex predators of the supernatural world: vampires.

It is never healthy to attract the gaze of the aristocracy of the night. It takes much to survive in this merciless world, but Ariane will not let that deter her. The southern belle has a bite, and she is willing to learn and to grow in this hostile new world. She will use whatever means necessary to reclaim her freedom, be it guile, charm, or those intriguing new instincts that make blood so delectable.

After a series of fortuitous events and a few serious hunches our hero decides it’s time to do more than just survive!

Yue Zhong begins to form the foundations of an enormous survival plan… before he suddenly discovers that he has only gotten over the first hurdle…. Unbeknownst to Yue Zhong and company, the world outside of China is mostly a wasteland! Country sized swathes of nuclear radiation and an extreme shortage of supplies in the world after the nuclear explosions was quickly becoming the “norm”. Mutants, Evolved animals and what’s worse, intelligent out of control dinosaurs had quickly appeared and claimed their own sections of the planet. There were several innately powerful Evolved races which appeared that were more than 10 times stronger than humans, nearly all of them possessing bodies impenetrable by normal bullets. The fabled orcs’ were another of these Evolved races, the leader of which had in fact enslaved many of the remaining human beings.

Unceremoniously exposed to such a cold and heartless new world, Yue Zhong is faced with a choice: Find a deep dark hole and hope it goes back to “normal”? Or overcome all obstacles and struggle towards Evolution!!!

The little ginseng essence was finally shaped into a human figure, but was smashed to pieces by Wang Baojiao who slipped and fell into the pool. When she woke up, she was lying on the earthen kang of the Wang family, and many people around the kang looked at her distressedly.

The shrewd woman put her hands on her hips: “My Jiaojiao, who the hell pushed you into the river!”

The strong man’s father cried and cried: “Jiaojiao, if you don’t wake up, Dad will go with you.”

Facing poor and decrepit family members who are plagued by bad luck, the small ginseng essence waved its fat hand, and the century-old ginseng spirit whiskers, one for you, the other will remove the bad luck, bring good fortune, and cure all diseases!

A family of six, the days are getting more and more prosperous.

Many years later, Jiaojiaobao reached the age of marriage. Everyone in the Wang family was very worried, thinking that no one could match their own Jiaojiao.

Unexpectedly, Jiaojiao brought back a beautiful boy by herself, and said that he was her future husband-in-law.
