Miguel had never tried to abandon his emotions, even in his previous life, no matter how childish he may appear to others.

For him, emotions were his foundation, and because of this emotion, he existed with a powerful purpose.

He had never forgotten about Gasper’s move to expel him from the carriage before. This butt kick was just payback for that time.

As for his actions before that, Miguel decided not to pursue them any longer. It could be said that he had been convinced by his recent actions, especially how determined he was to save and protect his cousin Erika. That alone deserves praise from Miguel.

His character had also changed for the better, so Miguel was willing to spare his life and give him another chance.

Gasper lay on the ground as he thought about his life.

After he awakened, he had always regarded himself as a genius, especially after realizing that he could summon his grimoire dozens of seconds ahead of the others. No one was his match in the village, and he grew complacent due to it.

He would constantly oppress those who tried to take his place, and he even targeted Miguel before due to his looks. He could not accept the attention Miguel was getting because of his looks, even though he was just a mentally ill person before.

In order to flaunt his superiority, he would always rally the others and bully the weak children in the village, including Miguel, who wouldn’t fight back no matter what they did to him.

His face still planted in the ground, Gasper realized how wrong and idiotic his actions were.

This time, Miguel’s light kick woke him up fully from his delusions.

Miguel was already very strong, but he was still willing to help them. If it were him from before, he would have surely decided to escape on his own already.

He was humbled by this experience.

A rare smile escaped his face as he stood up and followed the group of people who also followed right behind Miguel and Edith after they searched the bandit’s bodies for their belongings.

A girl in a green dress appeared right beside him with a shy look on her face. From the looks of it, she had been waiting for Gasper to get up since earlier.

Gasper nodded his head as the girl finally ordered her summoned beast to heal his wounds, alleviating him from pain and healing up his wounds in the process as they walked, following behind the crowd who was now on their way out of this huge and desolate chamber.

A few hours later, Miguel and the others finally arrived at the cave that the bandit’s used as their temporary hideout.

Miguel searched for his things and acted casually, saying that he liked ’Miguel’s’ things and he wanted them for himself.

As ’Miguel’ was nowhere to be found, everyone did not object to his actions and even supported him for taking Miguel’s belongings.

He got the clothes that Sara especially bought for him, as well as the Condensed Water Ores, which no longer had any use for him as the Volcanic Tortoise had already evolved into the Scorching Water Tortoise.

Miguel immediately changed into a new set of clothes, along with Edith, who also changed her clothes to those of Miguel’s.

With Miguel’s frame being bigger than his, the clothes ended up being too baggy for her. However, Miguel did not complain and thought that it actually added to her charm.

After some careful consideration, he decided and told Erika that they must return to the nearest city first to resupply and report anything that had happened to the Red Family.

At the same time, he also wanted her to inform them of his ’identity’ as a person who just awakened from a deep seclusion after hundreds of years and happened to save them along the way.

Erika agreed immediately, as she also wanted to have a few days of rest after what she went through.

On the other hand, she wanted to take revenge herself, but she knew that they were dealing with a major bandit group in the whole Blazing Expanse and that she did not have the ability to contend with them yet.

Although Randy had revealed the location of the bandit’s hideout, ’Journey’ requested that their mouths be sealed regarding this information, as he wanted to deal with them himself.

No one objected to his request. No one dared to reject it, and everyone knew that it was only this way they could avenge what happened to him.

In fact, they were grateful to Mister Journey for taking the matter into his own hands.

As no one wanted to stay in this place any longer, the group finally set off to Red Cliff City once more, as it was the nearest city to Ghost Wail Mountain.

For privacy, Edith requested that they have their own carriage for themselves.

No one objected to it as well; perhaps only Erika seemed resistant to it at first, but she could do nothing other than agree, as it would seem suspicious if she was the only one who objected to it.

On the other hand, the Wind Horses were now being controlled by the normal servants and Murphy, as all the other carriage drivers from before had already died.

Summoners could not use Summoning Crystals so the servants could only step up to drive the carriage themselves with the Wind Horses.

And afraid of being sloppy, Murphy volunteered to drive the carriage that Journey and Edith were riding on.

After some time, Miguel told Murphy to stop for a while.

"I’ll go fetch something first," he stated as he disappeared from everyone’s view.

Edith was still there, though, so no one was worried about Journey ditching them all of a sudden.

With the newly promoted [Shadow Steps], Miguel’s traveling speed was much faster than before.

Only a few minutes had passed when he returned, as though nothing had happened.

However, deep inside his newly promoted grimoire, the Volcanic Wyrm’s body parts rested quietly.

As they prepared to move once more, Miguel and Edith suddenly turned to look in one particular direction, garnering the attention of everyone else.

A frown and vigilance instantly appeared on their faces as they saw a group of people approaching them with great speed.
