The Night Finch was a black bird the size of a human’s torso. It was more tough compared to his last opponents and it took Miguel one [Precise Strike] to kill it due to how agile and shifty it was. It also has a troublesome skill that allows it to camouflage in the surrounding area to ambush its prey.

A Level 4 Normal Grade Beast was actually very troublesome enough for normal people and summoners with the same rank as Miguel. Not to mention that they needed their beast to fight for them, Miguel was able to kill it with his own hands, and it was even a demonized beast who has double the strength compared to normal.

After Miguel read the recent entries on his grimoire, another set of new entries flashed before him as the grimoire flashed with the level up light similar to what he experienced before.

For the first time, Miguel finally realized that his grimoire indeed has a grade. Although it looked jet-black and was not like the other grimoires of the same grade, it was actually still a Bronze Grade before.

What was worth mentioning was that even though it had already upgraded and was even blessed by the leveling light, its appearance had still not changed. It was still a jet-black grimoire adorned with bronze-colored lines on the side, the same appearance it had when it consumed Jonas’ grimoire.

Normally, when a Beginner Bronze Grade Grimoire ranks up to Intermediate Bronze, their appearance would usually turn into a lighter shade of bronze. When it reached Advance Bronze Grade, it would transform into a very bright bronze color.

Miguel did not know what this signifies, but he had an inkling that this might affect its degree of advancement in the future.

Ranking up a grimoire signifies a lot of things.

For one, the summoner would be able to ’communicate’ with it more clearly, resulting in a faster summoning time. Ranking up also meant that it could house and even contract even more stronger beasts.

Normally, a Beginner Bronze Grade Grimoire should have a problem contracting a Silver Grade Beast, however, not only was Miguel’s jet-black grimoire able to do it, it even exceeded and contracted a Gold Grade Fiery Empress directly.

This quality alone made it very special and unique. It complemented the Beauty Sign-In System that allowed him to contract beauties as strong as Aaliyah, the Fiery Empress of legend, a Gold Grade Fire Elemental Beast with a terrifying combat strength.

Speaking of the Beauty Sign-In System, it has been silent since the first time it appeared when he received Aaliyah.

However, Miguel had still not forgotten the condition for it to appear.

Sign-in at a specific and suitable location to receive legendary beauties as a reward.

As for what specific location it was talking about, Miguel did not know. So far, only the Red Manor met this elusive condition. It made him wonder if there was something special with Red Manor for it to trigger the system reward.

Anyways, Miguel was not in a hurry to receive another reward from the System as Aaliyah was more than enough for him at the moment. He could not summon two at the same time with his current rank anyways, hence, he did not bother about the system not appearing all this while.

As for being able to summon two at the same time, Miguel would need to reach the Elite Summoner Rank for that to happen.

On the other hand, the last important aspect of having a grimoire rank up was that the shield would be reinforced and would have an increase in duration.

When a Summoner Ranked up, it would strengthen the absolute shield’s durability and a slight increase on the duration. On the other hand, when a Grimoire ranked up, the absolute shield will have a great increase in duration and a slight increase in durability.

At his current Summoner Rank and Grimoire Grade, Miguel estimated that his Absolute Shield should be able to defend against an all out attack of a Level 5 Bronze Grade Beast once. As for its duration, a total of fifteen minutes per day should be his current limit.

After his upgrade to Intermediate Apprentice Summoner, his daily summoning duration also increased from ten minutes to twenty minutes per day.

It must be noted that an Apprentice Rank Summoner was truly befitting of their name.

In fact, according to Erika, only when one reached Advance Apprentice Summoner Rank would they be able to accept missions such as her case of being able to escort the newly awakened summoners.

Most of the time, they were only told to study and train with their skills and combat abilities through sparring, or even from captive beasts, which give little to minimal experience points if one performed well-enough.

After burning the Night Finch’s body to crisp, Miguel resumed his search for the wailing sound.
