Chapter 338

Under the dark night of the mountain region, an intense twelve V One was ongoing as a pack of wolves lunged at Ray with everything they got while the boy shifted into a stance, prepared for whatever they were going to throw at him.

Claws lashed at him from every corner and direction, ready to take a few chunks of flesh with them.

Ray wasted no time in bounding backward allowing the claws to slice through the space he had just occupied.

Instantly, four of these wolves shifted their stances and pounced at him.

Their horns thrust towards his abdomen but he had already switched in time to a shield, therefore absorbing the impact of their horns.

Pushing the horns to the side, he lifted his hand upward and smashed it into the neck of one of the wolves sending its head crashing into the ground with a loud whimper.

The other wolves darted at him with claws swiping towards his back.

Quickly tensing up with his hands squeezed in front of his body, a spherical barrier of light appeared around him.

The claws bounced off the barrier while Ray slowly cracked his eyes open.

’Woah. Tha-that worked? Ha!’

He had decided a while back that he didn’t want to be relying on his system that much anymore.

Since it always took quite the time to surf through his system and select the skill he needed, he wanted to activate his skills without the use of his system.

Unfortunately, he had to test that drive in the middle of battle which he hadn’t planned to earlier. It just came spontaneously.

The barrier dropped down immediately and Ray shoved his shield forward, bashing it into the face of one of the wolves.

Then twirled around and hurled the shield forward sending it flying through the air like a frisbee and shattering into the neck of one of the wolves ripping a deep gash on its neck that sprayed blood into the air.

One down. Eleven more to go.

Hurling his hand forward, a golden lasso appeared in his grip and wrapped around the legs of two wolves.

Yanking them forward, he spun the lasso around sending the beasts’ bodies whirling through the air and crashing into their comrades like bowling pins.

The wolves were scattered away while some dug their claws into the ground refusing to move an inch from their position.

Flinging them upward, Ray tugged on the golden lasso smashing the beasts into the ground with tremendous force that cracks immediately appeared on the surface of the earth.

The beasts were dizzy and disoriented.

Immediately equipping a bone spear, Ray spun around and hurled it forward with all his might causing a thunderous bang to shake the air as the spear flew forward with lightning speed.

In a jiffy, it immediately tore through the head of one of the wolves, came out the other way and hit another in the head, impaling it there.

The remaining nine wolves managed to regain their composures and they wasted no time in bolting forward.

Two appeared in front of Ray with their paws swiping towards his abdomen.

He tried leaping backward when he suddenly felt something dull hit him hard in the back.

He turned around to see a wolf tried impaling him with its horn but failed miserably due to the boy’s high endurance.

Grabbing the said wolf by the horn, Ray smashed his leg into the wolf’s— sending it crashing into the ground, hard.

Leaping into the air, the boy switched his weapon to that of a hammer as he rushed downward with rapid velocity.

BAM!

The hammer shattered the wolf’s skull as blood sprayed into the air.

"Ugh..."

He was whacked from behind by three wolves who put all their weight and used their bodies like a battering ram.

He was lifted off his feet and crashed into the ground face first while sliding on the hard rocky terrain.

Two wolves vaults into the air and tried colliding into him from above.

With a squeeze of his hands, a spherical barrier of light shimmered around his body absorbing the impact of the collision from above.

Slamming his hands into the ground, Ray vaulted into the air for a moment, then landed a metre away from the beasts.

[Sparkshot Activated]

Swinging his hands at the wolves dashing towards him, four consecutive strikes of lightning surged forward hitting the beasts faster than they could react.

A spasming pain coursed through their bodies as they suddenly halted mid motion with their bodies lighting up with sparks of lightning while Ray desperately tried catching his breath.

Lifting his hands forward in a thrusting motion with his palms pointed ahead, Ray’s eyes gleamed.

[Arc of Judgement]

A long sword-like beam burst out from his palms covering his vision and it ripped through the wolves’ heads like they were mere paper.

The beam carried on and crashed into a mountain in the background creating a hole through the mountain.

Thud—! Thud—! Thud—!

The bodies of the wolves crashed into the ground lifelessly with blood pooling beneath their bodies as the whole area suddenly became silent with the distant howls of wolves echoing through the air.

"Haaa.... Haaaa.... I think that’s enough hunt for one day." Ray muttered as he staggered towards the dead beasts and immediately got to work in extracting their cores.

When he finished taking the last core, he suddenly recalled something.

"Fuck. I forgot to take the core from that wolf."

Coming to that realisation, he was genuinely about to leap towards the hill when his ears perked up.

’On second thought, I need some rest.’

He immediately turned away and fled the scene, rushing for the cave his group were sleeping in peacefully.

’Hopefully, nobody has woken up yet and nothing has come to disturb their sleep.’

He weaved in between clusters of mountains and sped with all his might and speed while feeling the wind hit his face.
