My Tribrid System: More than a Monster
Chapter 341: Infinite Spring
Chapter 339
Bursting through the cave as silently as he left was Ray, and the moment he entered, he immediately crashed noiselessly on his back, panting softly.
Briefly looking behind him to see if his group had at some point woken up, he breathed a sigh of relief to see that they were still deep in sleep.
Well, Trisha had moved a bit which worried him, but the next moment, he watched as the girl scratched her hip and then returned back to sleep.
Heaving a sigh of relief, he slowly sat upright and then pulled out a bottle of water, drank to his full, and then, sent it back into his inventory.
’Damn. Out of twelve bottles we filled, we have exhausted ten so far and I have just drank from the eleventh bottle. This is bad. We would soon die of thirst if something is not done.’
Rubbing his chin, his mind returned back to his hunt, and that was when he recalled that he had been stained with blood.
Quickly looking behind him, Ray bolted out of the cave and summoned the same bottle he had drank from, and then quickly began splashing water on his face, clothe and any visible part of his body that was stained with dust and blood.
He scrubbed and washed for several minutes, so much so that the only reason he stopped was when no more water was coming out from the bottle.
’Yikes. Now down to one last bottle.’
He stared at the empty ice bottle in his hand then proceeded to toss it away, causing the bottle to break into shards.
Returning back to the cave, he felt the air hit his face hard, making his body feel chill somewhat.
’Well, the good thing is that the blood is gone.’
Settling back in his seat, he wiped his face clean with the back of his sleeve then excitedly pull down his system to see the rewards he must have gained from this hunt.
[Rewards: +2000 exp for each Advanced rank beast killed. Total EXP gained: 28,000]
Ray’s eyes almost bulged out of their sockets at the numbers he was seeing in front of him.
[+4000 bonus exp for defeating a Black Horned Wolf for the first time.]
[Congratulations: Host has leveled up]
[Level: 20>>>21]
’Damn. This is awesome.’
"Show me my exp bar." He silently called out, and his system responded.
[EXP: 12,000/ 22,000]
’Okay, that bar is growing increasingly far now and it’s becoming annoying. But the good thing is that the more beasts I kill, I can fill the counter.’
Ray’s smile widened immediately as he began calculating inwardly.
’I killed fourteen beasts today and it gave me this much. Now just imagine I spend the whole eight hours of the night to hunt my ass off. I could defeat double.... No! Triple the amount I defeated today and at the end of the day, I could just evolve before we leave this region.’
His eyes gleamed greedily, but then he calmed back down almost immediately.
’Everyday is not a festive season. There might be a day that I encounter something more dangerous and stronger than the Advanced rank wolves.’
Calming down his intensive, excited thoughts, he rubbed his face.
’... The good thing is that this region is populated by only wolves and since I already know their fighting pattern, I can defend against it and better survive properly.’
He was about to close the system interface when he heard a ding in his mind.
[Host has received an item from the system’s shop.]
’Oh really?!’
Ray’s grin widened at the thought of maybe being blessed by a strong weapon by the system.
He wasted no time in immediately clicking on the message in front of him.
[Item Name: Infinite Spring]
’Eh? That doesn’t sound like a weapon.’
Clicking on the item, he was taken to the shop page where he could now see the image as clear as day.
Rubbing his eyes for a moment, he frowned and read on.
[Item Description: You won’t lack water forever. No matter how much you drink, the spring will never run out.]
’What an odd description. Hey system, how do I bring out the item?’
[Dumbass, it’s stored in your inventory. Every item from the shop will always be stored there.]
’Fool! Did you explain it to me before that I forgot?’
[Did you ask?!]
"...."
’No.’
[As expected]
Choosing not to banter with the system at all, he scoffed inwardly and clicked on his inventory to see what this item was.
A small light of sparks could be seen forming around the boy’s hands and soon, it dissolved and in its place was a...a....
’Hmm.’
It was a bottle of crystal clear water that didn’t have a speck of dirt or uncleanliness in it.
Twisting the cap of the bottle, he brought it to his mouth and took a sip.
’Oh mamacita... damn.’
The water was cool to the mouth and also so refreshing that the boy greedily drank and drank until his stomach was beginning to hurt.
Only then did he pull the bottle away, and in front of his eyes, the almost finished bottle of water refilled back to the brim out of nowhere.
’That’s awesome.’
The water had been so cool to his taste buds and refreshing that it seemed like it had just come out of a refrigerator.
Looking at the bottle some more, he smiled as the sun could be seen slowly rising while the group behind him were slowly shuffling awake.
Sending the bottle back into his inventory, he grinned with his back still turned to the others and his gaze was directed straight ahead.
’Maybe this shop of a thing; the random selection isn’t that bad.’
"Good morning, Ray." Van greeted with a yawn as he slowly lifted himself upright.
Turning around to look at the group with a satisfied smile, he nodded while watching as they rubbed their tired eyes.
"Good morning guys. I hope you are all prepared for the day’s problems."
Chloe cracked one eye open with a slight frown on her face.
"’The day’s problems’?"
Looking back at the rest of the group, she suddenly shouted:
"Who let him greet us so early in the morning?! Now I feel like we gonna have a bad day today."
