10x Cashback: Your Wealth Is Mine-Chapter 96 The Legacy Bridge
96 The Legacy Bridge
The moment she walked in, I took half a second to thank the heavens for bringing me this opportunity and giving me this system.
You know the feeling, don't you? When you get to do the things you love and make money at the same time?
Well, you probably don't. Most people would rather quit if they had the chance.
The woman that walked in was definitely stunning. But not in the way you're thinking. She wasn't beautiful in the overstated, magazine-cover way but with the kind of effortless elegance that only the truly confident possess.
What made her stand out the most wasn't even all that. It was her hourglass figure that made me sure there was someone out there in the world that has fapped to her instagram.
Her face was framed by soft waves of auburn hair that cascaded down her shoulders and she wore a tailored white blazer and matching trousers, with an understated gold necklace around her neck.
Her beautiful green eyes locked on mine and for a moment, I forgot where I was.
Then the familiar screen of the system crossed over my vision.

I blinked, composing myself just as Nancy stood to greet her.
"Amelia," Nancy said warmly, gesturing toward me, "allow me to introduce you to someone who I'm sure you've been hearing about lately, Nico Voss. Nico, this is Amelia Ward."
"Ms. Ward." I said, standing and extending my hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you."
"Likewise." She replied with the kind of melodic voice that made people drown at sea.
She shook my hand and gave me what I could only call a disarming. Nope, not the polite smile. The smile of someone who knew their value and enjoyed watching others figure it out.
Nancy gestured for her to take a seat with us. "Amelia is one of my most brilliant proteges. She's made quite the name for herself as a philanthropist and entrepreneur."
"Now you're overselling me." Amelia said with a laugh as she settled into a chair. "But I'll take the compliment."
"What kind of business are you in?" I asked, making sure they could see that I was interested. Not romantically of course. I didn't need to show that.
What I needed was to figure out what made her tick and more importantly, how she could help me.
"I run Ward Impact Ventures, a social-impact investment firm." She said. "We focus on backing businesses and technologies that drive societal change while remaining profitable. Think of it as merging venture capital with philanthropy."
"A double bottom line." I leaned forward. "That's an ambitious model."
So, she was one of those who loved giving back to the community. Was it real or a facade? I guess we'll see.
"It's challenging but it's rewarding." She said. "We're also deeply rooted in community-driven banking initiatives, particularly in underserved neighborhoods."
She glanced at Nancy. "Nancy has been a big help in that area. I owe a lot of my success to her guidance."
Nancy waved a dismissive hand but smiled, clearly proud of her protege. "Amelia's being modest. Her firm has reshaped how most in the New York financial circle views social responsibility. It's not just about numbers now. It's about legacy."
There it was again. Legacy. The word that I'd been hearing a lot since I got to this city. They sure do love their legacies.
The more we conversed, the more I realized just how much I'd prepared. In fact, some would say that I overprepared.
Connecting with Nancy had been the right decision. She had just introduced me to someone whose network and expertise could align with exactly what I needed for Jenny. It was a match made in heaven.
Amelia was just what I needed. Someone whose connections could help sway that balance.
She could be the bridge between Jenny and the people Jasmine has on her side. The people who were obsessed with legacies.
After some time conversing, Nancy glanced at her watch and stood. "I hate to leave but I have another engagement." She said with a big smile. "I'll leave you two to get better acquainted."
She didn't need to say the message I was hearing beneath her words. Amelia was someone I needed to keep close.
Amelia and I stood to see her off and Nancy gave us both a knowing look before walking out.
Once she was gone, Amelia turned to me, her smile softening. "Well, it looks like you've officially been thrown in with the lions."
"I wouldn't have it any other way." I replied with a smile, gesturing for us to sit back down.
She laughed lightly. "I admire your confidence. But New York's is quite different from Crownsborough. Here, it's not about strategy. It's about perception."
She leaned forward, one elbow on the table and her hand under her chin. "Tell me, Nico, what's your perception of Apex Investments?"
I held her gaze as I spoke. "Apex is one of the important pillars of New York's financial ecosystem. And now, it's also a battleground, with Jenny and Jasmine fighting for control."
I leaned back confidently. "Jasmine represents the old guard with their traditions and conservative growth while Jenny, on the other hand, represents the younger mavericks. The ones who don't follow the established rules and use that to open new roads."
"I believe Jenny has the potential to become the force needed to take Apex to the next level. She just needs the right support to prove it."
Amelia tilted her head with a smile. "And you think you're that support?"

"I know I am." I said without hesitation. "Jenny has vision but she needs leverage. Apex is tied to the city's financial legacy but it's also tethered to outdated structures. Someone needs to break through that noise and I intend to."
Her eyes narrowed slightly, but there was no malice, only curiosity. "And how do I fit into this vision of yours?"
I leaned forward with a confident grin. "I think you already know."
