10x Rewards: Becoming Invincible With My Sign-in System-Chapter 257: The True Might Of Liliana Songsword
Aegon had never used his full power before. He never needed to. But at this point, when these people came to hurt the person he cared about the most, he cared little about anything else.
With a wave of his hand, the world took on a darker shade and even the Twilight sky didn’t seem enough to scare away the insidious darkness.
Dark shadows rose all around him with the largest of them standing just beside him. Their presence increased the tension in the atmosphere, as a total of ninety-eight deadly shadows stared back like an abyss at their enemies.
Even Marvin’s eyes widened seeing the display and many mercenaries he brought shifted back, their stance showing fear before the strongest mercenary group in the world.
However, Marvin didn’t back down. He summoned a spear and pointed it at Aegon. "I need to teach you a lot of things, insolent boy."
A loud thunderclap brightened the sky, deafening everything as a thick lightning bolt descended towards the group of seven even before the deafening sound came.
Yet despite all of this, Marvin stood confident in his place as he stared at the thick lightning bolt and swiped his spear at it. Its head glowed in a greenish hue, as he physically slapped the lightning bolt away from them.
In the next second, the same lightning bolt landed on a mountain nearby, decimating it with a blinding flash of light and a loud explosion that shook even Dusk City far from it.
"You’ve grown much stronger," Marvin said, looking up at Xiu who casually swiped her fingers to summon dozens of lightning bolts all around her.
"Can’t say the same about you," Xiu snorted. "That was just the warm-up. If you don’t back away now, it’ll hurt you more."
"Scared?" Marvin wore a mocking smile.
"Scared of who? You or those bunch of dead mercenaries?" Xiu crackled with laughter. "Unlike you, I care about people’s lives. Dusk City is nearby and if I truly fight, I might harm it."
"The choice is up to you," Marvin said. "Back away from my family and compensate my losses twice the value. Then, apologise."
"It’s useless, Xiu," Liliana said. "That man is obsessed with putting people below him so unless you decide to bow, he won’t back away."
She raised her hand before her, with only two fingers open as her eyes turned red with infernal flames. "Let’s end this once and for all."
"Gladly!"
"How are you guys forgetting me?"
Like a shooting star, a figure approached them at an incredible speed incomprehensible to most people and landed on the tall metal gate, revealing a blue-haired young woman clad in tight-fitting robes.
"I might not be matching your display of power. But you’re mistaken if you think I won’t fight Little Gon’s enemies," she grinned widely and raised her gauntlet-covered hands. "BOOST! BOOST! BOOST!"
A wave of invisible energy seemed to pass through everyone on Aegon’s side, as they all felt their power growing at a significant rate. Even the shadows turned more menacing.
Aegon smiled at Cali as she winked at him and then contacted Kai quickly. "Can you cover the mansion in a defensive Rune Formation?"
[An easy task.]
In the next moment, a transparent dome-like barrier rose all around the mansion, encasing it in a Rune Formation so powerful even Aegon was shocked to see it.
’This guy is too low-key for his skills.’
Aegon cracked his neck and smiled. "Should we start?"
No more words were needed as the world exploded in blinding flashes of light as dozens of spells were cast in seconds, filling the whole sky in various colours.
It felt as if the end of the world was coming.
The titan’s antenna glowed brightly before shooting a thick laser-like immolating light which instantly vaporised the ground it landed on, creating a deep crater.
It shifted its gaze, turning its focus on the three children of the Songsword Family while their father began to fight with the lightning-coated Xiu.
The light beam was faster than anyone imagined, but Roland stepped forward using a defensive spell which created a ten-metre-tall bell around them.
It cracked the moment the light beam made contact with it, but held long enough for the other two to move around it and attack their elder sister.
Liliana just stared down at them before making a spell with dozens of Rune Spheres in a matter of seconds. The appearance of such a high-rank spell made the two grimace but they still continued.
Selena’s body began to shake as her speed increased tenfold and she crossed the distance between them in an instant.
Her sword vibrated on a molecular level, as she cut everything in the way and aimed at Liliana’s neck.
Liliana glanced at her, but didn’t dismiss the Tier 7 spell. Instead, she just raised her other hand and caught the sword between her fingers.
"H-How is this possible?" Selena’s voice was thick with disbelief.
The sword that cut even the runes themselves actually failed to do anything against Liliana. Worse, it was caught between her fingers.
She couldn’t believe it.
"If you had spent more time practising, then perhaps you could have done more. You held the most potential out of all of us," Liliana muttered, her voice thick with disappointment. "But you wasted that time in stroking others’ egos."
"Shut up! You don’t know anything!" Selena screamed at her.
"What I know is far beyond anything your small brain can hold," Liliana said before turning her gaze towards Reinar who was rushing at her while charging his attack.
"Sadly, you’re all just disappointments."
All around her, dozens of volcanoes appeared out of nowhere. Their positions defied the laws of existence as all of them faced Liliana and erupted at the same time, shooting molten lava enough to drown multiple cities at Liliana and the titan standing behind her.
Liliana calmly stared at the incoming lava before sending the Rune Spheres of the Tier 7 spell at Reinar who clearly didn’t expect her to abandon her defence to attack him.
The spell hit like a meteor, throwing him many kilometres away from the mansion.
Before long, a whole stretch of wilderness covering hundreds of kilometres was erased from the face of the Triana Continent.
