Chapter 181: Chapter 181: The Grand Finale (Part 3)

The due date for Sang Yu arrived in the blink of an eye.

Sang Yu had been in the hospital for a few days already, as she was expecting twins, so her family had been extra attentive and cautious.

Moreover, since Wei Jin was early when her due date came, they hurriedly rushed her to the hospital.

After gaining some experience,

Sang Yu was sent to the hospital a few days in advance.

He Xiulan came to deliver some food, and only then did Jiang Jingming get up to fetch water.

"How are you feeling today? Any signs?" He Xiulan put down what she was holding and sat beside Sang Yu.

Sang Yu said, "I’m alright, not feeling much different."

He Xiulan looked at Sang Yu’s significantly bigger belly, "The babies inside are well-behaved, not troubling you. They’ll surely be good kids in the future."

Sang Yu smiled and touched her belly.

He Xiulan opened the lunchbox, "Today, I made you some bone broth and added some ginseng. It’s good for your health and will help you regain your strength when you give birth. Although you haven’t delivered yet, those kids might decide to come out at any moment."

While speaking, He Xiulan took the food out of the lunchbox.

"Have the soup first, then the meal," He Xiulan said.

Sang Yu: "Thank you, Auntie, you’ve been such a great help all this time."

During Sang Yu’s hospital stay, He Xiulan had been bringing her meals, making Sang Yu feel a bit embarrassed.

He Xiulan said teasingly, "You’re being too polite again. We’re family, there’s no need for thanks. Drink up the soup now before it gets cold and doesn’t taste as good."

Sang Yu felt so lucky to have met such wonderful people. Maybe it was the pregnancy making her more sentimental.

She used to have some fear of the future, but their presence filled her with hope.

Sang Yu carefully sipped the bone broth, "Auntie’s cooking is really great. The broth is delicious."

He Xiulan smiled, "Drink more if it tastes good, it’s beneficial for you."

Sang Yu nodded, "Okay, sure!"

Suddenly, Sang Yu felt a movement in her belly and let out a sound, then froze.

He Xiulan was startled by Sang Yu’s sudden reaction, "What’s wrong? Is it time already?"

It took Sang Yu a while to say, "No, it feels like the babies inside are kicking me."

He Xiulan looked at Sang Yu’s belly excitedly and sighed with relief, "Perhaps they heard how delicious the bone broth is and want to taste it too?"

With her hand on her belly, Sang Yu felt a mix of excitement and anticipation.

"Maybe, Auntie’s cooking is so tempting they can’t wait to eat it."

He Xiulan gently touched Sang Yu’s belly, saying, "Stay put, once you’re out, Grandma will cook lots of good food for you."

Sang Yu’s belly moved again, and He Xiulan exclaimed excitedly, "Did they understand?"

Sang Yu nodded, "Possibly."

He Xiulan: "Looks like we’ve got two smart kids here."

Sang Yu also smiled.

When Jiang Jingming returned, Sang Yu shared the incident with him, her face glowing with joy.

Jiang Jingming frowned and set down the hot water, "They kicked you? Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere? Is it painful?"

Sang Yu shook her head, "I’m fine, it’s not painful."

Seeing how worried Jiang Jingming was, He Xiulan couldn’t help but laugh, "Jingming, look how worried you are."

Only after ensuring Sang Yu showed no signs of discomfort did Jiang Jingming relax.

Jiang Jingming merely said, "If there’s any discomfort, you must say it promptly."

Sang Yu nodded, "I know."

He Xiulan: "Jingming, you don’t need to be so anxious."

Sang Yu added, "Auntie is right, it’s just childbirth, no need to be so nervous."

Actually, Sang Yu was scared too, having heard childbirth was like brushing death. But seeing Jiang Jingming more nervous than herself,

she felt less tense.

Jiang Jingming just pursed his lips and said nothing.

He silently placed another pillow under Sang Yu’s waist.

These days, Jiang Jingming had been especially sensitive, waking up at the slightest sound at night and checking on Sang Yu whenever he awoke.

Sometimes, seeing Jiang Jingming like this, Sang Yu felt a twinge of heartache.

Jiang Jingming had been getting very little sleep around this time, and even that was fragmented, waking up occasionally just to check on her.

The dark circles under his eyes had become quite noticeable.

"Rest well, I’m alright," Sang Yu said to the suddenly awakened Jiang Jingming.

Jiang Jingming’s eyes were bloodshot, "It’s alright, are you uncomfortable anywhere?"

Sang Yu shook her head, "I just want to use the bathroom."

Jiang Jingming: "I’ll go with you."

Sang Yu wanted to say it wasn’t necessary, but Jiang Jingming was already helping her up.

Jiang Jingming assisted Sang Yu to the bathroom, "I’m right outside, call me when you’re done, don’t move around too much, okay?"

Sang Yu nodded, "I understand."

After Jiang Jingming left, Sang Yu then took off her pants and after a while, felt something wasn’t right.

Something seemed to be leaking, and suddenly there was some pain in her stomach.

She held her stomach, could it be her water broke?

The pain in her belly grew more intense.

Sang Yu held onto the railing beside her, "Jiang..."

As soon as she called out his name, Jiang Jingming rushed in.

"What happened?"

Sang Yu pointed to her belly, "I think my water, broke."

Jiang Jingming paused, then immediately carried Sang Yu to the bed, and rushed outside.

Not long after, Jiang Jingming returned with a doctor.

The doctor looked at Sang Yu, "Your water broke?"

Sang Yu nodded, "I think so."

The doctor immediately arranged for Sang Yu to be taken to the delivery room.

From start to finish, Jiang Jingming stood silently outside the delivery room, his hands at his sides trembling slightly.

He stood motionless by the delivery room door.

Upon getting the news, He Xiulan and Wei Jin rushed over.

"How’s it going? How long has she been in there?" He Xiulan asked immediately upon arrival.

Jiang Jingming appeared dazed, and after a while, he responded to He Xiulan’s inquiry, "I don’t know."

Noticing Jiang Jingming’s apparent distress, Wei Jin said, "You should sit down for a while."

Jiang Jingming, however, shook his head, unwilling to leave, and just stood quietly.

He Xiulan was also quite anxious, considering it’s twins.

The three of them waited anxiously outside the delivery room.

Inside, Sang Yu was also doing her best in labor.

Never did she imagine childbirth could be this painful. Sang Yu decided never to have children again, ever.

She wasn’t sure how long it took, but she felt like she was running out of strength.

The first baby finally came out.

The doctor said, "Hang in there, there’s one more, keep going."
