A Dragon against the Whole World-Chapter 113 - 112: The Young Iron Dragon of Shattered Stone Beach, Wings of Death
"You should delve deeply into your strengths, rather than persist in the mediocre areas that all Red Dragons excel in."
"Only then can you stand out, allowing the name of the Red Dragon Queen to be renowned far and wide in the future."
"Think carefully, a wise Alchemy Dragon, or a foolish and savage Red Dragon Lord who only knows how to fight, which is more distinctive and easier to be remembered?"
Galos murmured in a low voice.
"Vera thinks it’s the wise Alchemy Dragon; there are too many violent Red Dragons." The Elf Dragon nodded vigorously, and said.
Across from her, Samantha had her head nearly raised to the sky.
Its clever wisdom considered Galos’s words carefully and found them very reasonable.
"A true expert should achieve victory from a thousand miles away."
Galos seized the moment and continued persuading patiently.
"Imagine such a scene."
"A corps of adventurers attempts to conquer the Red Dragon Queen, but even before approaching, without even seeing the true face of the Red Dragon Queen, they are all destroyed by the Red Dragon Queen’s Alchemy Corps, leaving them only to cry out in despair and regret."
"Those originally hostile organizations all submit to the Red Dragon Queen’s wisdom and strength, offering reverence and endless treasures."
Listening to Galos’s words, Samantha subconsciously began to fantasize, eventually shivering uncontrollably, feeling a chill run through its body.
"Hmm, I agree with your thoughts."
It said, then even its steps became reserved, its stride pretended to be steady and mature, and its gaze turned cryptic, trying to make itself truly appear wise.
The idea of building an Alchemy Corps also took root in the young dragon’s mind.
Unable to wait, it returned to its Alchemy Workshop, busily engaged.
Soon after, Galos flew back to the mountain wall cave Dragon’s Nest, resting its head on its tail, covering its body with its Dragon Wings.
"With the intensity of this battle with the Diamond Giants, can it stimulate me to awaken Dragon Qi?"
Galos pondered.
Wanting to awaken Dragon Qi before reaching youth, and take up the role of Martial Dragon, besides daily training accumulation, the key lies in a selfless, life-and-death battle.
Once Dragon Qi is awakened.
Galos’s skills will become more diverse, its foundation deeper, and its combat power will undoubtedly rise significantly.
However, he did not have high expectations for this, as there has never been a record of individuals awakening Dragon Qi during the young dragon stage in the legacy.
Slowly closing its eyes, Galos began to rest.
For the Dragon Race, there is no better medicine than sleep; sleep can dispel its fatigue and help its injuries recover faster.
Three days later.
Under the cover of night, the Jackal-Wolf Folk Haken led a team of scouts from his kin, climbing up the cliffs at the Quenching Highlands’ border.
Quenching Highlands seem flat overall, but the ground slopes slightly upward, and following it northward, one can reach a vertical border like a sheer cliff, more than nine hundred meters high.
These Jackal-Wolf Folk territories are located beyond the northern border of Quenching Highlands, around a big river after crossing the cliff.
Named Shattered Stone Beach.
Although they live at Shattered Stone Beach, the dominant force here is not the Jackal-Wolf Folk, but a juvenile Iron Dragon.
The Jackal-Wolf Folk Long-tailed Clan, along with a Dog-headed Man Clan, they fear and admire the power of the Dragon Race, jointly pledging allegiance to the Iron Dragon at Shattered Stone Beach.
Their Iron Dragon Lord is ambitious, unsatisfied with Shattered Stone Beach.
The Iron Dragon Lord is strategically insightful, believing Quenching Highlands is a strategically important location, easy to defend and hard to attack, with a wide and open view, thus it considers it a target for occupation and plans to capture this area.
However.
The appearance of Stone Giants disrupted the Iron Dragon’s plans.
Stone Giants of unknown origin set up camp in Quenching Highlands, constructing a camp.
Fearing the strength of the Stone Giants, the Iron Dragon does not dare to act rashly but also unwilling to abandon its grandiose blueprint of creating a Wilderness Empire, so it keeps a close eye on Quenching Highlands.
Then, a few days ago.
A meteor seemingly fell from the sky, crashing into Quenching Highlands, the impact point appeared very close to the Stone Giant Camp, or perhaps even directly in the Stone Giant Camp.
The commotion was not small.
The glaring crimson light was visible from afar.
This anomaly was noticed by the Iron Dragon covertly observing Quenching Highlands.
Thus it dispatched Jackal-Wolf Folk scouts to Quenching Highlands for reconnaissance.
Jackal-Wolf Folk Haken led the scouting team, cautiously walking on Quenching Highlands, their footsteps silent on stone fragments and grass blades, their ears occasionally twitching, attentive to the rustling wind around.
Time slowly passed in a tense atmosphere.
The night deepened, the moon’s clear brightness veiled by clouds.
Darkness surged from all directions, making the Jackal-Wolf Folk vigilant and alert, not daring to be careless.
A few minutes later, over a dozen Jackal-Wolf Folk halted their steps at the edge of a huge ring-shaped crater, their bodies trembling slightly.
"Is this the impact point of the meteor?"
"But there’s no sign of the meteor at the bottom here."
Jackal-Wolf Folk possess dark vision, able to see clearly in the dense darkness.
"Perhaps it’s not a meteor."
Haken lowered his voice and said, "It could be those Stone Giants up to something."
When mentioning the Stone Giant, another scout shrank his head in fear and said, "Let’s go back and report this information to the Dragon Lord."
"Fool! Such worthless information will only anger the Dragon Lord."
Haken licked his lips, looking towards the direction of the Stone Giant Camp, and said, "At least we need to be sure whether it was the Stone Giants. These big guys have dull senses; if we’re careful, we won’t be discovered."
The Iron Dragon Lord rewards his followers and heavily rewards those who accomplish deeds.
Haken felt his fangs becoming loose and fragile, his body slowly weakening; he knew he was aging, gradually going towards his twilight years, gradually dying.
He was unwilling to accept this.
He hoped to gain the recognition of the Iron Dragon Lord and the opportunity for Dragon Vein Transformation.
Knowing the Iron Dragon Lord’s style, he was willing to take risks.
Immediately.
Haken led the scouts to slowly approach the Stone Giant Camp. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
However, as they got closer, able to see the situation inside the camp, they simultaneously widened their eyes in astonishment.
There was no silhouette of Stone Giants in sight.
In their place were some hefty and strong Ogres.
These Ogres were more robust than their usual kin, some rare elites.
Most terrifyingly, they were systematically dismantling the Stone Giant’s remains, tossing the giant’s body fragments into the boiling Symbiotic Pool.
"Something’s not right."
Haken’s tail tightened.
"These aren’t ordinary—"
"Careful! We’ve been exposed!"
The Jackal-Wolf Folk scout suddenly exclaimed.
A thick spear descended from the sky, piercing through a Jackal-Wolf Folk body and pinning it to the ground.
Ogre Ugo stood atop a towering stone wall, his eyes fixed on the bush where the Jackal-Wolf Folk scouts hid, sniffing and smirking cruelly at the corner of his mouth.
"These stone lumps don’t taste good; it’s perfect for little rats to come."
He leapt directly off the stone wall, holding a massive battle axe made of metal and amplified by Alchemy Runes, and charged towards the Jackal-Wolf Folk.
Behind him, more Ogre Warriors started their charge.
Their heavy bodies stomped the ground, causing constant tremors in the earth.
These large-bodied creatures charged like rhinos, their speed not slow but indeed quite fast.
The world’s impression of ogres is that they’re strong but sluggish, which is true only for bloated ogres, not these elite ogres.
The Jackal-Wolf Folk scouts frantically fled.
The Ogres behind them hurled boulders or other weapons, disrupting the Jackal-Wolf Folk’s escape rhythm. Their swift running speed was indeed fast, soon catching up.
"Stupid ogres!"
Watching the approaching ogres, Jackal-Wolf Folk Haken realized he couldn’t outrun them, and instead stopped.
He turned to face the ogres, straightened his chest, fluffed his fur, and roared with bared teeth, "We are loyal to the great King of Iron! The noble and invincible Giant Dragon!"
"How dare you offend us!"
Ugo, the leader, hesitated.
The other ogres also stopped, looking at each other.
Seeing their reaction, Jackal-Wolf Folk Haken gathered courage, boasting, "Hmph! Aren’t you going to apologize and ask for forgiveness?"
"Otherwise, the King of Iron will flatten your lands, kill you all, and turn you into wilderness trash!"
After a few seconds of silence.
Ugo strode closer.
"Alright, please forgive my offense!"
Though he said so, he swung the enormous axe longer than the lifespan of a Jackal-Wolf Folk, falling heavily.
With pupils contracting, Jackal-Wolf Folk Haken’s face turned pale, visible through his fur, petrified, his body rigid, not daring to move.
Ogre Ugo was the elite of elites.
In the entire Bone-Chewing Clan, second only to Gorging Demon Kalu.
Even young dragons weren’t his match, let alone a mere Jackal-Wolf Folk scout leader.
Boom!
The battle axe struck in front of the Jackal-Wolf Folk, leaving a deep trench in the ground.
"Tie them all up! Take them away!"
Ugo said gruffly, "Wait for the Master of Red Wings’ decision!"
Master of Red Wings, Wings of Death, an unparalleled ominous star... these titles were the respectful names for Galos within the Molten Iron Clan.
Master of Red Wings?
It’s over!
Apparently, there’s a dragon above these ogres too! This name sounds like a dragon; the Jackal-Wolf Folk’s last hope was gone, completely losing their fighting spirit.
The ogres were as fierce as wolves, quickly capturing the Jackal-Wolf Folk and dragging them back to the camp.
