A Dragon against the Whole World-Chapter 50: The New King of Violent Bear Ridge
As the sky grew darker, Galos hid high within the clouds, looking down at the two Violent Bears chasing and fleeing below.
In the Earth Bear race, challenges for the leader’s position are legitimate, allowing for one-on-one duels like the Knights.
But when facing an attack from Galos, the Dragon Race.
All Violent Bears unite against a common enemy, resisting the outside threat until their morale breaks, or the leader is killed. In such a situation, drawing the Bear Leader away first can reduce a lot of unnecessary trouble.
On the ground.
Möbel’s muscles were tense, sprinting with no room for relaxation.
Runes glimmered beneath its fur, providing better-than-usual power, but even so, it couldn’t outrun the leader Gor, and the distance between them was gradually closing.
Though its straight-line speed was inferior, the young Violent Bear was more agile.
Möbel chose the most rugged path to escape.
Sharp basalt pillars, fallen deadwood, hidden fissures... these obstacles created some trouble for Old Gor, repeatedly slowing its speed, preventing it from catching Möbel quickly.
As time passed.
The old bear’s pursuit grew more frenzied.
It broke through giant trees that required several people to embrace, crushed rocks blocking the way, with its brown eyes burning with killing intent.
Soon after.
The two Violent Bears reached the eastern cliff of Needleleaf Valley, one chasing, one fleeing.
The road ahead was cut off, Möbel stopped.
"You can’t escape."
The old bear growled low, four feet sprinting, charging toward Möbel.
"Wait!"
Möbel retreated to the cliff edge, shouting.
This move made the old bear slightly surprised, but the killing intent didn’t fade from its eyes.
"Only now do you want to beg for mercy? It’s too late!"
"Daring to challenge me without realizing the difference in strength, you’re doomed to die."
It was already old, gradually becoming weaker.
The young Violent Bear like Möbel who dared to provoke must be killed to eliminate future troubles, or else one day it would die.
"I’m not the one challenging you."
Möbel snorted, saying, "Old fool, it’s you who don’t understand the situation."
At the same time.
Gor faintly sensed something was wrong too.
A highly aggressive gaze descended from the sky, locking onto it, bringing a danger far beyond what this rebellious cub could match.
Looking up.
The seven-meter-long, incredibly strong Red Iron Young Dragon reflected in Gor’s view, changing its bear face.
The appearance of this Red Iron Young Dragon was somewhat familiar, having met before.
But back then, the Red Iron Young Dragon didn’t have such a powerful oppressive feeling, failing to make it feel dangerous, now it’s starkly different.
"Damn it! You dared to bow down to the Dragon Race! To lure the Dragon Race here!"
Gor roared furiously at the rebellious cub.
"Serving the great Galos is my honor!"
Möbel took pride instead of shame, chest held high, speaking.
This posture angered Gor to the point of wanting to tear it apart, but the greatest threat right now came from the sky.
Under its gaze, the last ray of the setting sun pierced through the clouds, coating the Dragon Race’s Scale Armor with a layer of blood-red.
The Dragon Race circling in the sky suddenly extended its wings entirely, the seven-meter-long body now had a terrifying wingspan close to twenty meters, when the Dragon Wings stretched, dense fiery scales brushed against each other, sparking bursts of flames, particularly dazzling in the dim sky.
The Red Iron Young Dragon began its dive.
Its movement wasn’t swift, but carried a suffocating oppression, wings like terrifying blades tearing through the air, dragon body plunging straight down like a javelin, the shrieking sound of air being torn pierced from afar to near, becoming more and more piercing, and its Scale Armor on the body was gradually turning red, like containing explosive energy.
Under Galos’ Dragon Wei oppression, Gor instinctively wanted to retreat first.
However, the aura from years of ruling the bear group made the Bear Leader instead straighten its chest, arms spread wide, howling at the rapidly diving Dragon Race.
"Come, Dragon!"
Fire ignited on its body, layers of earth and stones surged to cover its surface, especially on its arms, forming armor like molten under the grill of the fiery flame, distorting and vaporizing the surrounding air.
Mid-air.
Galos, trailing a dense shower of sparks behind him, resembled a fiery red meteor descending from the heavens, closing in on the Bear Leader.
In the split second before contact, he extended his clawed hand, glinting with a metallic sheen. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
The Bear Leader roared simultaneously, raising its massive paw covered in thick molten armor to meet the attack.
Bang!
A deafening explosion resounded.
Countless fragments of rock scattered like bullets, a gust of wind carrying dust and fiery waves swept over Möbel, causing its fur to be blown back and nearly blinding it. It felt unsteady underfoot as the cliff collapsed, sending Möbel plummeting down with chunks of stone.
In the swirling dust, Galos straightened up, the sparks on his wing membranes standing out in the twilight.
The Bear Leader’s forearm was bent at an unnatural angle, having been forcibly broken in the collision, and its body was covered in the scorched black marks from the explosion.
"Submit to me, and your life will be spared."
Galos said in a deep voice.
In response, the old Bear Leader roared and its massive paw, coated with molten lava, swatted at Galos’ shoulder, producing a thunderous sound.
Boom! The Dragon Scale shattered, releasing a thick shockwave and fiery flames.
The old Bear Leader’s arm was knocked away, stumbling back a few steps before it could steady itself. Galos’ Dragon Wings transformed into a giant crimson blade, slashing at its chest, but it raised its bear arm in time, the thickest layer of molten lava covering it.
In the next instant, lava splattered.
Galos felt as if he had struck thick asphalt; although his Dragon Wing Blade cut through the molten armor, leaving a scar on the old Bear Leader’s arm, it failed to cleave it in two.
Without the acceleration from a dive, the Dragon Wing Blade’s power was significantly diminished.
Whiz! Before the Bear Leader’s counterattack arrived, Galos suddenly soared into the sky, then unfolded his wings, diving swiftly again.
Unlike other young dragons who forgot their aerial advantage once the heat of battle overtook them, Galos adeptly utilized his strengths.
The Red Iron Young Dragon circled in the air, adjusting his angle.
Immediately, sparks shot from between his wings, diving once more toward the Bear Leader.
The Bear Leader stomped its foot.
Lava orbs formed, rising and crashing toward Galos, but he either deftly dodged them or they shattered into a rain of rocks and fire upon contact, all while his speed remained unabated, quickly approaching the Bear Leader.
The Dragon Wings swiftly passed and slashed toward the Bear Leader, which again blocked with its bear arm.
Rip!
A section of a severed arm shot into the sky, blood and lava spilling into the air.
Gor’s eyes widened in disbelief.
The Earth Bear’s most formidable arms, one had its bones shattered and hung limp, unable to be lifted, while the other was directly severed.
Bang!
Galos flicked his tail, striking the Bear Leader’s chest, sending it rolling across the ground, carving a long trench before coming to a stop nearly a hundred meters away.
"I’ll give you one more chance, submit or die."
Galos said in a deep voice.
"To die in battle is the Earth Bear’s honor!"
Gor’s hind legs kicked against the ground, his body covered in molten armor, eyes blood-red, charged toward Galos.
In this deadly battle, he felt as if he had become young again, his heart pounding powerfully in his chest, blood flowing rapidly like a mighty river.
Galos waved his wings and soared high, evading the Bear Leader’s charge.
He unleashed a stream of Electric Fire Dragon Breath, engulfing the Bear Leader. Dazzling flames and lightning swallowed it whole, making it unable to rise again. It roared and struggled, resistance quickly waning as its fur and flesh gradually turned to char.
Not long after.
Möbel spat out the stones in his mouth and climbed back up the cliff.
"Ah, great Dragon Lord, your majesty dims the sun and moon."
"I knew it, this old thing was like a withered leaf, unable to withstand a single blow before you."
He ran over, crouched, carefully nudged Galos’ claw with his nose, continuing his flattery: "Your majestic descent from the sky was just like the legendary heavenly fire meteor! Those foolish Bears must have been scared out of their wits seeing this, all submitting to you, crowning you the King of Violent Bear Ridge. I, Möbel, swear to always be your most loyal follower, wherever you point, I’ll follow without question!"
Galos gave him a glance.
"It seems you haven’t inherited an ounce of your father’s bravery and defiance."
He said.
Möbel chuckled, proudly saying: "That’s why I’ve survived, continuing to savor the marvelous air, while he became a lifeless corpse, a foolish brute now just nourishment for the wilderness."
In this wilderness, bravery is indeed admirable, but only living wisdom can enjoy the fruits of victory.
