A Dragon against the Whole World-Chapter 62: Snake Dragon Poison
The night shrouded the entire sky like ink.
The figures of Galos and the Cliff Snake Dragon darted between the dark clouds, like two bolts of lightning tearing through the night sky.
As the distance closed, the Cliff Snake Dragon attacked first, its slender body whipping like a lash, the forked tips of its tail burning with a dark green poisonous flame.
Galos’s body paused, his wings raised high.
The fine scales on his dragon wing membrane rubbed against each other, sparking intensely, the sharp edges of the wings glowing crimson, and then, with the tip of the left wing as the axis, his body suddenly spun dramatically, shifting angles, the dragon wings swung up like a guillotine, striking at the Cliff Snake Dragon.
Facing the Dragon Wing Spin, the Cliff Snake Dragon refused to be outdone.
It also spun around, its thick tail lashing out at Galos’s dragon wings.
Clang! Tear!
First, there was the sound of metal colliding, a crisp ring like blades clashing, followed by the sound of sharp objects tearing through tough dragon scales and flesh.
Galos’s spinning dragon wing slash felt a slight hindrance, then tore and severed one of the Cliff Snake Dragon’s forked tails, staining his dragon wings with the thick blood of the Cliff Snake Dragon.
"I’ll eat you!"
The Cliff Snake Dragon winced in pain, mumbling incoherently in Dragon Language, its front claws suddenly reaching out to strike Galos.
Galos’s body tilted slightly, meeting the blow directly with the dense burst scales on his back.
Boom! The powerful claw strike hit Galos’s back scales, which shattered while absorbing the kinetic energy of the strike, converting it into heat energy, erupting into blinding flames.
Caught off guard, the Cliff Snake Dragon was sent flying.
"This guy can’t fight directly."
Suddenly, a sharp pain came from the dragon wings.
Like countless small files grinding his flesh, like numerous poisonous snakes burrowing into his body, the pain was intense beyond compare.
"But this poison, it’s as formidable as the records in the heritage."
Even Galos, with his tolerance for pain, frowned slightly.
The blood from the Cliff Snake Dragon that stained his wings was sticky, and instead of being blown away by the strong wind, it adhered to his dragon wings, coloring the touched areas dark green.
The Snake Dragon’s fangs, claws, blood—all were poisonous.
Especially its blood, containing the highest toxin concentration.
Galos’s resistance to poison wasn’t high, and the dragon wings began to numb after being poisoned.
The Cliff Snake Dragon charged again.
In comparison, its injuries were more severe than Galos’s, but its blood-red eyes gleamed with madness and excitement, ready to drag Galos down with it even in death, a relentless frenzy.
Crazy dragons can’t be treated with common sense.
Engaging it in a death battle has no benefits. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
On the contrary, properly tangling with it benefits Galos.
"Keep it around, as long as it stays in Crescent Valley, it comes here to provoke me occasionally. Use its poison to gradually increase my poison resistance. Tonight, let’s end it here. My current poison resistance isn’t high, contacting too much toxic blood at once is risky."
Galos thought to himself.
He swung his dragon wings, accelerating to the limit, creating distance.
The Cliff Snake Dragon’s scales emitted hissing sounds, hot gases steamed, it burst with speed to chase Galos, but as Galos began sprinting at full speed, each swipe of his giant dragon wings whipped up a fierce wind, and it couldn’t keep up in its burst state, the distance between them gradually expanding.
It couldn’t catch up, and its broken tail continued bleeding.
The speed burst consumed massive stamina, and it came to an end.
The Cliff Snake Dragon stopped helplessly, only able to see the sparks emitted when Galos’s wings flapped, and after a few blinks, even those sparks disappeared.
It howled, turned, and returned to the Gray Wolf Tribe.
"Food! I want fresh food!"
In Crescent Valley, the Cliff Snake Dragon landed in the Werewolf Territory, demanding the Wolfman Tribe offer food again.
"All the fresh prey has been provided to you today."
The Werewolf Sacrifice’s face showed a trace of tension, forced calm as he said, "Now only dead or dried meat is left, but there’s plenty, enough to satisfy you."
The Cliff Snake Dragon roared: "I want living creatures, living creatures!"
It wanted to satisfy its boiling desire to kill by cruelly tearing apart living beings, venting the anger from being injured by Galos and failing to capture him.
"If you don’t give me, I’ll take it myself!"
The Cliff Snake Dragon’s body launched, pouncing and biting down on an adult werewolf.
But that wasn’t enough; it wanted more.
"Enough! Rogers! Back to your lair!"
The Elder Wolfman’s eyes opened wide with anger, standing before the Cliff Snake Dragon, gripping the Oak Staff tightly with both hands, a huge, wolf-shaped spirit shadow looming behind him.
The Cliff Snake Dragon circled the Elder Wolfman, but didn’t attack.
It carried the screaming adult werewolf back to the mountain wall cave.
The Elder Wolfman’s imposing aura dispersed, his form became more hunched.
"I shouldn’t have picked up that Dragon Egg, shouldn’t have hatched it, shouldn’t have nurtured it to grow."
His heart was full of regret.
This Cliff Snake Dragon is a 16-year-old juvenile dragon, a ferocious beast raised by the Elder Wolfman himself.
During an early exploration, the Elder Wolfman discovered an egg in a bone-filled cave, brought it back to the territory, and hatched the Cliff Snake Dragon.
The tribe living in the wilderness didn’t have enough knowledge about the Dragon Race.
He didn’t know this was the inherently savage, extremely bloodthirsty Cliff Snake Dragon, only treating it as a monster serpent, thinking it had great potential, and thus planned to train it from an early age, subdue it, and make it the tribe’s Guardian Beast.
However.
The Cliff Snake Dragon of this Dragon Race, savage, brutal, yet possessed intelligence.
When weak, it restrained its vicious nature as much as possible, relying on the Wolfman Tribe’s nurturing to grow stronger, even helping the tribe to slaughter some enemies.
However.
As it continued to grow, it no longer restrained itself. In fits of rage, it even consumed werewolves indiscriminately, only the Elder Wolfman who raised it from young, relying on the Shaman Skills and the sense of kinship rooted when it was young could barely make it restrain itself, but the influence was gradually weakening.
"Elder, it’s becoming uncontrollable, the cost of keeping it is too high."
"It got hurt fighting an unknown Dragon Race; might as well take this chance to gather the tribe’s warriors and kill it."
The current Wolfman Chieftain approached the Shaman’s side, gazing at the dark cave, speaking in a deep voice.
The Shaman’s age was the greatest, he was the most respected elder in this tribe, with the highest prestige.
"Surrounding and killing Rogers would be too dangerous, the losses would be enormous, likely crippling the tribe, disappearing into the wilderness." The Elder Wolfman Shaman pondered and said.
Wolfman Chieftain: "Elder, make a decision promptly."
"If the cost of killing it is too high, we can only abandon Crescent Valley and relocate elsewhere."
"In any case, we can’t continue sharing this territory with it, otherwise we don’t know if one day it might go berserk and eat us all."
The Elder Shaman nodded, his voice somewhat weary: "I understand, trust me, I won’t let the tribe face a dead-end no matter what."
The Wolfman Chieftain nodded, said no more, glanced at the cave a few times, then turned to soothe the frightened tribesmen.
Their emotions mustn’t fluctuate excessively.
Otherwise, they might transform into giant wolf beasts, possibly unable to revert.
Meanwhile, the Elder Shaman looked up at the tranquil night sky, his mind suddenly recalling the dragon shadow that had passed through the sky earlier.
The Cliff Snake Dragon had eagerly pursued it, returned furious.
A tail was broken.
Surely it had eaten a loss.
Perhaps, could borrow the Dragon Race’s power? The Elder Shaman thought.
