Chapter 63: Chapter 63: Venom Tempering

The night wind rustled through the branches, making a rustling sound, casting long shadows on the ground.

The moonlight, filtered through the leaves, fell on Galos’ scale armor, creating scattered patches of light.

His sturdy body pushed through the shrubs, claws pulling apart the vines, following the scent of blood in the air, he stopped searching after a few minutes.

He fixed his gaze.

A small severed piece of Snake Dragon Tail lay quietly on the ground, with green Dragon Blood seeping from the cut, corroding all surrounding stones and branches. A pool of green liquid formed around the severed tail, bubbling as it continued to erode outward.

"Poison hidden in the blood, why doesn’t it poison itself?"

Galos pinched the severed tail and lifted it, then flapped his Dragon Wings to soar into the sky, heading back towards Needleleaf Valley.

This time, he came out to investigate his ’neighbors’.

Galos initially intended to investigate several intelligent tribes or powerful beasts and monsters at once.

But he found a Cliff Snake Dragon at the Gray Wolf Tribe, had a confrontation with it, got poisoned on his dragon wing, and lost the interest to continue investigating, choosing to return to Needleleaf Valley first.

Not long after.

Galos hovered above Needleleaf Valley, folded his Dragon Wings, and landed on his usual training ground, a clearing in the valley.

On the western side of the clearing, Elf Dragon Vera was lying on a treetop, swaying and snoring away, fast asleep.

Galos’ arrival didn’t wake it; it first sniffed the air, then, as if suddenly having a nightmare, flailed its limbs and tail wildly, lost its balance, and fell to the ground with a thud.

"Snake, snake, snake... Snake Dragon! Don’t eat me!"

The Elf Dragon trembled like a quail, fearfully shouting.

It had just dreamt of encountering a Snake Dragon, getting captured, and almost being cruelly eaten.

However, upon opening its eyes, it found itself still in Needleleaf Valley, with the strong-bodied Red Iron Half-blood Dragon in front of it, no trace of the Snake Dragon, allowing it to relax somewhat.

But soon, it felt a bit confused.

Because it clearly smelled the scent of a Snake Dragon.

Snake Dragons love to eat dragons and elves are high on their menu, as are Pikachu and Flower Demons—any elven creatures. Elf Dragons are both dragons and elven beings, making them a delicacy for Snake Dragons.

One could say, Snake Dragons are the natural nemesis of Elf Dragons.

Back in the Immortal Spirit Wilderness.

The Unicorn Elder loved scaring the Elf Dragon with Snake Dragons, and it worked every time.

Elf Dragons are very sensitive to the scent of their natural enemies, its small head turned constantly, sniffing the air, until it fixed its gaze on Galos.

Indeed, the smell of the Snake Dragon was emanating from Galos.

It flew like a butterfly to Galos, circling around his body.

It discovered that Galos’ claw held a severed piece of a green tail, and on the edge of his right wing, there was a spot emitting a stinking dark green color. A few fine scales had fallen off, revealing a festering, purulent wing membrane.

"You encountered a Snake Dragon? And got its poisonous blood on you?"

The Elf Dragon asked worriedly.

"Encountered a Cliff Snake Dragon."

Galos shifted his right wing forward, closely inspecting the dark green area corroded by the Snake Dragon Poison.

The sharp pain was gone, replaced by numbness, especially on the palm-sized ulcerated area, where he could barely feel its presence.

The Dragon Race’s physique is robust, naturally having some poison resistance.

Ordinary poison has a minimal effect on Dragons.

But Snake Dragon Poison seems to be evolved especially for internal conflict, for hunting other Dragons, and can cause significant poison damage to Dragon bodies.

"The Cliff Snake Dragon’s close-combat skills aren’t high, but its poisonous blood is truly troublesome."

"Unless I can defeat it with long-range tactics, if I must rely on close combat, even if I can chop it into eight pieces, getting too much of its poisonous blood on me could lead to serious injury."

Galos pondered silently.

Serious injury—Galos had experienced it once during his dragonling phase.

At the time, he was three years old and first realized he had the talent for adaptation and evolution. Unable to control the arrogance inherent in dragon nature, he eagerly flew to his maximum height and then attempted his first ’sun and earth,’ trying to strengthen himself rapidly through intense means.

The result was that he ended up severely injuring himself.

It took more than half a month to gradually recover.

Moreover, afterward, his evolution talent didn’t provide the satisfying feedback he desired.

This made him realize that his evolution talent was more about gradual accumulation than sudden bursts.

With no Iron Dragon Lady to protect him now. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

If he were gravely injured and encountered other dangers, the risk of death would be very high.

Meanwhile, the Elf Dragon flew to Galos’ wound, anxiously saying, "Quickly cut away this piece of flesh so the wound can heal faster."

Because Galos promised to accompany it for amusement and also let the Violent Bear in the territory play with it.

It seemed to have forgotten that it was a prisoner forcibly kept by the ’Slavery Contract’ and regarded Galos as a comrade of its own.

"No need."

Galos shook his head, refusing the Elf Dragon’s suggestion.

He raised the severed Snake Dragon tail, slowly extending his Dragon Wings.

The edge, covered in a metallic structure, the razor-sharp wing blade, sliced inch by inch through the severed tail, causing the ’blade’ to be stained with the poisonous blood, emitting a sizzling, corrosive sound.

Occasionally, a larger movement would splash some poisonous blood onto Galos’ wingspan, forming a dark green stain, sending a bone-penetrating pain like a thousand snakes biting.

Seeing this scene, the Elf Dragon’s eyes widened at once.

There’s no rumor that the Cliff Snake Dragon’s poison drives Dragons crazy, is there?

"You, you, you... what are you doing?!"

It anxiously circled around Galos.

On the other side, a fiery red Dragon Shadow passed through the Needleleaf Pines, walking over.

It was Samantha, who also smelled the Cliff Snake Dragon.

"What’s the big fuss?"

Samantha glanced superiorly at Elf Dragon Vera, lifted her chin, and said, "Tiny one, if you see such things more often, you’ll get used to it. Galos just likes this; it’s his peculiar interest."

Seeing the Red Dragon, the Elf Dragon timidly shrank its head.

Samantha initially wanted to eat it, which made it still somewhat afraid now.

However, because of Galos’ warning, and the Elf Dragon wasn’t even enough to fill a gap between her teeth, Samantha’s interest in it wasn’t that high, and she didn’t display any desire to eat it anymore.

Elf Dragon Vera calmed herself, trying not to appear as scared of the Red Dragon.

Hearing Samantha’s words and recalling Galos’ previous shocking Day Tree action, it vaguely understood what Samantha meant.

"It seems, yes, Galos’ interests are unique, when I first saw it..."

The Elf Dragon inadvertently started to speak to the Red Young Dragon.
