Chapter 89: Chapter 89: Straying Further from the Path of the Evil Dragon

Needleleaf Valley, gradually perfecting, already a small-scale Alchemy Workshop.

Samantha was gripping a glass test tube made from burnt sand with her claw, her dark red Dragon Eyes fixed on the boiling liquid inside.

"Add a small pinch of sulfur-iron powder."

She muttered under her breath, using the tip of her tail to lift the mortar, pouring the shimmering metallic powder into the test tube.

Boom!

The test tube shattered, acrid smoke instantly filled the Alchemy Workshop, and Samantha was choked into sneezing three times in a row, waving her Dragon Wings to dispel the smoke.

"Failed again!"

"I clearly followed the recipe in the inheritance, where did it go wrong?"

The Red Dragon angrily flicked her tail.

Those Bone-Chewing Clan ogres kept expanding, their momentum fierce.

Although they haven’t reached Needleleaf Valley yet, it has already made Samantha feel threatened.

In Galos’s third year of Dragon Sleep, Samantha also began Dragon Sleep, expecting Galos to awaken and return after its two-year duration.

Yet three years turned into three more.

Six years have passed, and Galos has not returned.

Samantha lost her usual reliance, and being a Red Dragon, aside from Galos, she would not submit to any other creature, thus temporarily taking charge of Needleleaf Valley, inadvertently becoming the backbone for the Elf Dragon and Violent Bears.

But this position isn’t easy.

Especially now, with the danger from the Bone-Chewing Clan almost imminent.

Samantha had to pull herself together.

To honor her promise to guard Needleleaf Valley, she attempted to create Alchemy Tools to arm her Followers — Flame Beads.

These are disposable Alchemy Tools; once thrown, they can cause intense explosions with great power.

If ample Flame Beads can be stocked up, then facing the ogre invasion later, they can resist for more time.

Yes, resist for more time, not defeat.

Samantha forced herself to think like Galos to better manage the territory, trying not to be so arrogant and conceited, and followed Galos’s habit by initially cracking some scale powder from the Elf Dragon to enhance her own wisdom.

Then.

She clearly realized that the Gluttonous Demon that rose nearly after Galos’s Dragon Sleep six years ago from the Bone-Chewing Clan, was an enemy she couldn’t defeat.

And it’s not just the Gluttonous Demon.

Due to excessive hunting over these years, having ample food resources and possibly the stimulation of certain leadership skills from the Gluttonous Demon, the entire clan’s ogres have leveled up tremendously, the number of plump ogre elite Warriors is increasing, and no fewer Mages have been born.

The Bone-Chewing Clan is thriving and flourishing.

Their territory keeps expanding, their numbers keep growing.

No matter how arrogant a Young Dragon is, she wouldn’t think she could take this ogre clan as Followers.

In such circumstances, what Samantha had to do was wait for Galos to awaken and return, and before that, try her best to guard Needleleaf Valley.

If worse comes to worst, there’s no choice but to lead the Elf Dragon, Violent Bear Group, and her own Demon Race Followers to retreat. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

——Samantha herself had subdued a group of Giant Fire Ants and a group of Fire Salamanders.

Being forced to abandon her territory by ogres is a tremendous shame in the Red Dragon’s eyes, but it’s better than losing her life.

On the surface, Samantha disapproved of Galos’s cautiousness and desire to preserve life.

But sometimes, upon thoughtful reflection, she found the words of Galos to be quite reasonable, subconsciously taking Galos as a role model, learning from him unconsciously.

"I can’t fail again."

"Calm down, calm down, Samantha."

"Let your mind become rational, don’t be nervous."

Samantha took a deep breath, continuing her attempt to create Flame Beads.

Time slowly passed, and shortly after, a dark, inconspicuous bead with some faint dark red patterns appeared in Samantha’s claw.

"As long as the first one succeeds, the rest will be easy."

The effort paid off, a delighted smile appeared on Samantha’s dragon face, her tail flicked.

At that moment.

A powerful Dragon Wei, filled with pressure, approached from afar.

Samantha’s Dragon Eyes narrowed, her Dragon Scales almost stood on end, and the Giant Fire Ants around the workshop emitted sharp shrieks, burrowing into the ground in fear.

She rushed out of the workshop, looking up at the sky.

In the dark sky.

It seemed there was a comet streaking across the sky, drawing closer to Needleleaf Valley.

No, it’s not a real comet.

It’s a dragon, leaving comet-like streaks behind, moving at an unbelievable speed!

As the distance closed, Samantha detected a familiar scent, her eyes widened, the caution and tension in them instantly dissipating.

Though the appearance had changed somewhat.

She still recognized Galos at a glance.

"Galos, my dear brother, welcome to your awakening!"

Samantha flapped her wings, feeling as if a heavy burden was lifted, her body relaxing, then flew towards the sky, ready to greet Galos.

The flame stream behind the Dragon Wings gradually dissipated.

Galos slowed his speed, feeling somewhat hungry again.

Growth and evolution consumed too much energy, and after waking up he hadn’t eaten sufficiently, he was not very hungry but still flew to Needleleaf Valley.

He could fly back at a leisurely pace.

But having just acquired a new skill, like a child with a new toy, he couldn’t resist trying it out, using jet acceleration to soar through the sky with exhilarating speed.

"The territory appears to be unproblematic."

"I’ll need to hunt and feed well later."

Galos flew over Needleleaf Valley, seeing Samantha flying towards him.

He slowed down a bit more, his gaze fixed on Samantha.

The once immature Red Young Dragon, still somewhat immature but had grown.

Samantha’s body length was close to ten meters, with some added spikes, long protruding fangs from her mouth, her scales gleaming like quenched steel, radiating a dark red metallic shine under moonlight.

Galos sniffed.

On Samantha, he smelled an acrid sulfur scent, like a volcano, like lava, which was the Red Dragon’s body odor that intensified with age.

Because of his bloodline, Galos didn’t dislike such a scent, instead found it quite pleasing.

"Samantha, you’ve grown quite a bit too."

He said.

"Of course! We share the same blood, I won’t be worse than you."

Samantha didn’t mention the difficult struggle and mental pressure during this time, only displayed her inherent Red Dragon confidence.

The two dragons together landed in Needleleaf Valley.

Elf Dragon Vera rushed over with a cry, then halted suddenly before Galos, blinking and said, "Galos, you look even more fierce now than before."

Rugged explosive scales.

The Celestial Comet Wings, huge like lethal weapons.

The increasingly apparent dual characteristics of Red Dragon and Iron Dragon bloodline.

All these made Galos’s appearance so sharp, more fierce, more like an Evil Dragon, more imposing.
