A Girl Conquers the World Through Her Tears-Chapter 4: A Test Stared at by the Teacher
Chapter 4
At the traffic lights at the crossroads, Zhu Liheng's car was checked for his driver's license, ID card, and trunk by the police officer.
The police uncle stared at Lin Jianzhi and educated her intensely: "Although you are an adult now, you still need to be responsible for yourself and not just casually get into any car, especially with the recent brazen 'high-value scam' behavior going around, you need to be extremely careful..."
Lin Jianzhi numbly raised her head: "Officer, I'm going to be late for school."
The police was clearly taken aback for a moment and asked: "So you were crying because you didn't want to be late?"
Lin Jianzhi nodded: "I'm a high school senior. I have a math test this morning."
The police blinked and took a look at the time before letting them go. High school students need to get to tests on time!
The two got back into the car.
After hesitating for a bit, Lin Jianzhi sat in the passenger seat. She was gripping her schoolbag tightly with both hands, so tight that they turned white.
She felt that being this close to him was really too much!
Her heart was frantically speeding up, practically jumping out of her throat.
She secretly glanced at the person to her left. She realized Zhu Liheng had a expressionless face and was very silent.
Lin Jianzhi's eyes instantly dimmed.
Is he angry?
Sure enough, I've caused trouble for him.
The car smoothly drove into the school and stopped outside the classroom building.
The quiet campus was very peaceful. Because they were held up at the crossroads, the time for getting to school had long passed. All the students were already in the classrooms.
Lin Jianzhi said thanks and got out of the car, not even daring to look at his expression.
She truly felt that she was silly and foolish!
Unexpectedly, the car door closing sound came right after her.
Lin Jianzhi looked back in surprise and saw that Zhu Liheng had also gotten out of the car. He gave her a "don't worry" look.
Zhu Liheng: "I'll explain the situation to them. Teacher Hu won't scold you."
...
On the third floor of the high school senior 2 class, Mu Yin sat by the windowsill, twirling a pen while gazing out the window with boredom.
Damn math morning quiz!
Clatter!
Her pen dropped to the ground. She gaped out the window with eyes wide open, wishing she could stick her whole head out to get a better look.
A black sedan stopped below after driving into the school. Right after, Zhu Liheng and Lin Jianzhi got out from both sides of the car!
Holy crap!
Mu Yin nearly screamed!
She quickly glanced towards the classroom door. Sure enough, not long after, Lin Jianzhi appeared.
The head teacher Hu Tan was sitting at the podium proctoring the test. His sharp gaze glared over: "Lin Jianzhi! ...Oh?"
He had just yelled out halfway when Teacher Hu suddenly turned up his tone in surprise, astonished at seeing Zhu Liheng standing behind Lin Jianzhi.
The whole class turned their heads to look over, eyes shining with gossip and curiosity, wishing they could somehow see through Lin Jianzhi and Zhu Liheng.
Zhu Liheng smiled and greeted: "Teacher Hu, are you busy?"
Hu Tan immediately set his teacup down and went out: "No busy at all, just a short quiz. I don't even need to proctor."
Lin Jianzhi took the chance to lower her head and apologize: "I'm so sorry for being late Teacher Hu."
Hu Tan didn't even question her before directly letting her in: "Being late is fine. Hurry back to your seat, the morning quiz has already started."
Lin Jianzhi quickly slipped back to her seat, spreading out her math test papers.
Countless heads in front, behind, left and right all leaned towards her, whispering questions at her.
Sitting at the front row, the class president Lang Shu frequently looked back, even throwing over a note.
At the windowsill, Mu Yin had lost her mind. Standing up and waving her arms like crazy with an intense and exaggerated expression.
Lin Jianzhi flushed red and couldn’t stop blushing, face burning hot, feeling like her head was about to explode!
In the hallway, Hu Tan and Zhu Liheng were conversing.
It was evident that Hu Tan was in a great mood, guffawing loudly from time to time. The laughter clearly carried into the classroom.
When the discussion reached its peak, Hu Tan very approvingly patted Zhu Liheng's shoulder.
The entire time, Zhu Liheng just responded with a smile and did not look into the classroom. About five minutes later, he bid farewell and left.
Hu Tan watched Zhu Liheng's departing back and all the way smiling as he walked back into the classroom.
To have such a student from his class in the past, that was extremely glorious!
He would still come back to visit the school after graduating. Just thinking about it was joyful!
The sneakily small movements and rustling noises in the classroom rapidly disappeared when Hu Tan came back in. All the students pretended to conscientiously hunch over the tables, diligently writing as if the near explosion of noise just earlier had nothing to do with them.
After Hu Tan came back in, he did not go back to sit at the podium. Instead, he headed directly over to Lin Jianzhi and watched her take the test.
Lin Jianzhi nearly snapped her pencil!
She stiffly lowered her head to do the questions. When she came to a multiple choice question, she selected C.
A 'tsk' sound came from over her head!
Lin Jianzhi: "..."
She paused and changed the answer to B.
Another 'tsk' sounded from over her!
Lin Jianzhi trembled when she hesitated between A and D, finally choosing A.
"Mm." Hu Tan's satisfied voice came from over her head.
The entire time Lin Jianzhi took the test, Hu Tan 'tsked' over her head. She erased and redid almost the whole test paper, no idea how many times she had changed her answers.
When the morning quiz ended, Lin Jianzhi's palms were full of sweat. Her hands were numb.
The head teacher Hu Tan had barely walked out the door after collecting the papers when the entire class swarmed around Lin Jianzhi like a hive of bees.
They clamored with questions, with Mu Yin yelling the loudest.
"Lin Jianzhi! I saw you get out of Zhu Liheng's car! You were sitting in the passenger seat!!!"
Lin Jianzhi blankly looked at Mu Yin, panic making her almost forget how to speak Chinese.
The surrounding classmates exploded even more, emitting all kinds of exaggerated monkey screeches.
"Passenger seat, oo-ah-ah!"
"With Zhu Liheng coming for a school visit, seems like it was just accompanying his girlfriend to study for college exams!"
"Wow damn! Lin Jianzhi got Zhu Liheng!"
"Lin Jianzhi is dating Zhu Liheng!"
"Lin Jianzhi! What's it like dating the hottest guy at school?"
"... "
Lin Jianzhi didn't know what to do, waving her hands in panic while frantically explaining: "No! It's not! We're not boyfriend and girlfriend! Not dating!"
Lang Shu: "Then how did you end up in his passenger seat? Zhu Liheng isn't free time, yet he even sent you to school!"
Lin Jianzhi practically shouted: "We live in the upstairs and downstairs apartments!"
The classroom quieted for one second, but soon resumed the clamor.
"Dang, I haven't seen my neighbor for over 10 years, let alone know what they look like, much less one that would drive me to school!"
"What kind of neighbor personally drives someone to school? That is clearly just an excuse!"
"My god, close access means opportunities! No wonder you got together!"
"I had a flash of inspiration, going to write a novel called 'Me and My School Prince Charming Neighbor'..."
"Hands off that novel, I'm gonna write it!"
"..."
The plot ran increasingly off the rails, with more and more exaggerated monkey screams. The entire class started losing their minds.
Lin Jianzhi was really going to pass out from panic!
She didn't even know why it developed this way, both anxious and confused.
Dating?
Zhu Liheng?
She didn't even dare to imagine it! Why would he possibly like someone like her...
If Zhu Liheng found out about this misunderstanding, then what?
What would he think?
How would he see her?
Not okay!
This was truly too shameful!
At this moment, Lin Jianzhi hated that she couldn't find a seam to hide away in, not daring to face anyone.
