Chapter 111: Chapter 111: Your Mommy Is Vivian Quincy

Kimberly Shaw had come specifically to enjoy Wanda Quincy’s downfall. She was ecstatic to learn that Wanda had been publicly humiliated by a mere assistant. After praising Vivian Quincy, she was shooed away by Jasper Ford.

The man’s gaze was cold. He gave Vivian Quincy a meaningful look but said nothing, simply instructing her to focus on her work before returning to his office.

Beanie was still sitting inside, his big, clear eyes blinking. They shone as brightly as stars—a truly beautiful pair of eyes.

Caden Chandler returned and knocked on the door to Jasper Ford’s office, a thick file in his hand. "President, I’ve finished the investigation. This is the file you requested."

The man took it and opened it.

A lot had happened recently: Vivian Quincy deliberately barging into his room, "stumbling" her way into a job at Imperium Group, becoming his secretary, and then Mrs. King herself showing up to cause a scene...

All of it seemed premeditated, as if it had been planned long in advance.

There was no way Jasper Ford would leave things uninvestigated. More importantly, he didn’t trust Vivian Quincy.

In Jasper Ford’s eyes, Vivian Quincy was just a woman who would sell her body for money.

The report in his hand was the result of Caden Chandler’s investigation over the past two days.

The file clearly stated that Vivian Quincy had lived in Crestfall six years ago and had a complicated history with Jeremy King. Afterward, she had somehow started working at The Nightfall Club, only to run away after a few days, leaving behind a large debt that Hayden Kaye had just recently paid off for her.

From this investigation, one could see that Vivian Quincy was a woman with a sordid past.

Utterly filthy.

Slowly, Jasper Ford’s hand crumpled the report in his palm into a tight ball.

Beanie, who was in the office with him, sensed that something was amiss. He cautiously glanced at Jasper Ford and asked, "Ford, what are you looking at?"

Jasper Ford’s face was cold. "Tell your mommy to come get you."

"My mommy’s at work," Beanie answered quietly. His eyes flickered as he thought, ’My poor mommy is still working for this mean man. She can’t take me home before her shift ends.’

Jasper Ford casually tossed the file Caden Chandler had prepared into the trash can, walked over to Beanie, and said, "From now on, you are not to get too close to Vivian Quincy. Understand?"

"Why?" Beanie was instantly on high alert, staring defensively at Jasper Ford. He felt that Jasper was badmouthing his mommy, and he was not happy about it. Even his gaze toward Jasper turned cold.

The man bent down slightly, moving closer to Beanie’s fair little face, and gently poked his forehead. "Birds of a feather flock together. In short, you just can’t be too close to her."

"Are you saying she’s a bad person, Ford?" Beanie retorted bluntly. Though his innocent face remained impassive, he was actually on the verge of an explosion.

Jasper Ford narrowed his eyes, gazing at the little boy’s tense cheeks. "Yes," he said.

"If you ask me, you’re the bad person, Ford! Vivian Quincy is the best person I’ve ever met. She’s the best person in the whole wide world! Since you don’t like her, then you should let her go. You don’t deserve an employee as good as her!" Beanie declared, puffing out his chest with a commanding tone.

The man froze, a flicker of astonishment in his dark, deep eyes. For a split second, he felt the child before him was his spitting image. A faint smile touched his lips, and he couldn’t help but chuckle. "Little guy, I’m doing this for your own good."

"Ford, you’ve really disappointed me." Beanie looked into his eyes, his voice laced with sadness.

The truth was, Beanie didn’t dislike Jasper Ford. For as long as he could remember, people had treated him like an unwanted stray, but Ford never did. Ford was incredibly good to him, kinder than anyone he’d ever met.

Besides his godfather, Ford was the only person who had ever been that kind to him.

Beanie had even wondered how wonderful it would be if Ford were his daddy; he would have been so happy. But today, Ford’s words made him realize that not only did Ford dislike his mommy, he even looked down on her.

Whatever the reason, this was something Beanie could not tolerate.

Beanie took a deep breath, lifted his head, and told Jasper Ford in a firm, resolute voice, "Ford, I want you to terminate your contract with Vivian Quincy. Let her go."

"Little guy, she’s my assistant. I can’t let her go," Jasper Ford replied, flatly refusing Beanie’s request.

Beanie said, "Ford, haven’t you ever heard the saying, ’Trust those you employ, and don’t employ those you distrust’? If you doubt her character, you shouldn’t keep her here. You’re just going to hurt her. You’re a bad person."

Beanie was furious.

He was truly incensed, and his mouth ran like a motor, never pausing for a second.

It was the first time Jasper Ford had seen Beanie lose his temper, and he was quite surprised. At the same time, the boy’s words struck a chord.

’For the past few days, he had been wondering, ’Is Vivian Quincy really that kind of woman?’’

He had always known that Vivian Quincy had some connection to Jeremy King. But to say she was the type of woman to sell her body for money... He thought of all the times he’d wanted to tear her clothes off, to force himself on her...

’Her eyes couldn’t lie. They were so clear...’

’Her eyes... they were so pure!’

A smile played on Jasper Ford’s lips. "You understand so much for someone so young. Who taught you all this?"

"Vivian Quincy!" Beanie blurted out, shouting her name instead of the word "Mommy" that had been on the tip of his tongue.

Jasper Ford was taken aback, then let out a hearty laugh. "Alright, I’ll listen to you. I won’t say anything bad about her. But in return, shouldn’t you tell me who your mommy is?"

The little boy tensed up. He asked earnestly, "Don’t you already know, Ford?"

"It’s Anna, right?" Jasper Ford said.

Beanie gave a solemn nod.

Jasper Ford stared directly into his eyes and said in a low voice, "Anna is unmarried. She’s been working at the Thornton Group for several years and has no record of ever being pregnant. Besides, your surname is Quincy. Don’t lie to me. I know everything."

Beanie hadn’t expected Jasper Ford to actually investigate him. His little stomach puffed out with indignation. "Are you running a background check on me, Ford? That’s an invasion of my privacy! It’s very rude!"

"Just tell me. Who is your mommy?" Unfazed by the accusation, Jasper Ford continued to press him.

Beanie haughtily turned his head away and, as if straining, squeezed out two words: "Wanda Quincy."

"You’re not related to Wanda Quincy by blood," Jasper Ford continued, calling his bluff.

The little boy’s eyes darted back and forth, the classic sign of someone who was trying to avoid telling the truth.

From the corner of his eye, he kept glancing toward Vivian Quincy outside the door. It was a subtle movement, but Jasper Ford caught it. His interest suddenly piqued, he asked in a low voice, "Vivian Quincy?"

Beanie panicked instantly, waving his hands frantically. "It’s not her! No! Absolutely not!"

"Absolutely not what?" Jasper Ford murmured with a faint smile. "Are you that scared of being connected to her?"

"There’s nothing going on between us!" Beanie mumbled with a pout.

Jasper Ford said, "You both have the surname Quincy. How am I supposed to know if there’s nothing going on? Perhaps I should have Caden Chandler look into it?"
